big fan of these matches...and a shame that these men didn't go on to do more within their careers with the ww(w)f. misused, imo. Yeah, I think Graham going to the karate gimmick didn't do him any favors and Dusty was high up in the Florida territory at this time which probably kept him from doing more with the WWWF. Though, I think Dusty would have been the better choice to take the WWWF Title from Graham instead of Backlund, Rhodes seemed to fit the WWWF territory more than Backlund did. vince sr had his success with a white hot super baby face in Bruno with the Italian community and thought he’d try to replicate it with an all American - which is frustrating as even Zybysko would’ve made a better candidate than Backlund imo. I guess people wouldn’t have forgiven Zybysko for double crossing Bruno. Superstar’s career is in some ways similar to Rick Rude’s. both flew too close to the sun - graham with his short heel title run and Rude with his high profile rivalry with Warrior. both felt they deserved a proper run with the belt and that people would want to see that. both didn’t get that opportunity. both went on to be bitter. and their bodies both broke down over the years pretty roughly.

I’m making my way through SummerSlam ‘90 at the moment, so Demolition vs The Hart Foundation. Great match, one of my favorites, probably the best match on the PPV. Also, this match involved three of my all-time favorite tag teams, Hart Foundation, Demolition, LOD. True, I think a good run with the belt for a heel Zbyszko could have been good. Have all the baby faces take a run at Zbyszko who would probably have had a ton of heat after the Bruno feud which would have made anyone going up against him a white hot baby face. Have Zbyszko drop the title to Hogan to start his run. I watched a shoot video with Cornette and Kevin Sullivan and they talked about why Vince Sr. wanted Backlund as the baby face champion. He saw that Eddie Graham had made Jack Brisco the all-American boy type character as his champion and was doing very well with it and thought he could do the same with Backlund. Also, apparently the crowds would get heated even riot sometimes when either Bruno or Morales would lose or appear to get cheated, they even said that one of the Blackjacks got stabbed pretty violently after a match with one of them, so Vince wanted a different type of champion to hopefully calm the crowds. Shame about both guys, Rude and Superstar. Superstar probably should have tried to go else where after dropping the title to Backlund instead of returning as the karate character. Rude at least had a good run in WCW with multiple long term runs with both the International World Title (Big Gold Belt) and the US Title. Unfortunately for Rude had he not broken his neck in 1994 he probably would have been a much bigger part of the NWO angle in 96/97 considering he was a big part of the Hogan-era in WWF.

Random WCW Worldwide episodes circa 95-97.
Over the weekend I'm gonna dive into the GAB 86 shows The Network recently added.

You truly believed they really hated one another. Plus the wondering of who's corner Perfect was going to be in. Truly awesome.

Yeah I don't think they touched the SMW section since launch 5 years ago. Damn shame.
