Backlash 2000. I would call this show overrated. Still a fun watch nonetheless. That POP for Austin during the main event rivals the pop he got on that Raw episode in early 99 during Rock vs Mankind for the belt. Yeah, a very fun main event and a great Jericho/Benoit match. Eddie also provided top notch entertainment. I found the undercard very weak though. Dean Malenko even had a stinker with Scotty 2 Hotty.

Still going through PTW episodes circa Summer 1990 as it's been a while since I last watched em.
The chemistry between Bobby/Gorilla will forever be unmatched. Just fantastic stuff all around.

Backlash 2000 surpassed WM16 as an event....just like Backlash 99 did with WM15. Particularly with the Main Events. The ME of Backlash 2000 is what the ME of WM2000 was meant to be but Austin knew early he wouldn't be cleared by his insurance to participate. Hence the wretched ME we got @ WM.
all this Hulkamania talk got me thinking of the Mega Powers Angle...so
SSlam88 Mega Powers vs Mega Bucks....that look Savage throws Hogan. Genius by Vince.
SSeries 88....more drama.....great stuff but Jesus the Mega Powers team was sh*te man LOL
Royal Rumble 1989: a great RR match but I was here for the Mega Powers who didn't disappoint. Savages reaction at being dumped out was fantastic.
SNME....the break up. Fantastic selling from Hogan...incredible actually. Again Savage lunacy is brilliant
WM5. In my book? the finest ME Hogan has participated in. the match is near perfect....Crowd wanted Savage dead. he lived up to that by being a maniac heel playing heavily on the women beating aspect. Hogan played the hero getting revenge to a tee.
interestingly? I felt Savages loss didn't weaken him at all....he was booked to be strong after the match. Instead of skulking off? he is in Hogans face telling him "they aint done"
Also the way Hogan absolutely drills Savage with the legdrop is unique because of the way Randy sells it...

I just watched Boss Man vs. Hogan, steel cage from SNME '89. I feel like this is one of Hogan's best matches. It was very well done, back and forth the whole time. Hogan super-plexing Bossman off the top of the cage ... wow, I forgot all about that. It looked insane. Also, Boss Man almost kills referee Earl Hebner by violently swinging the door of the cage open before the match, lol.

All from the 9-24-90 edition of PTW...
Boss Man vs some jobber but the main point of this match is the infamous segment where Boss Man would drag Heenan to ringside and handcuff him to the guardrail. They would show the proceeding squash matches with P&G and Tugboat all while Bobby is still handcuffed.Rude would eventual come to his aid.
GREAT stuff here with both Rude and Heenan selling it to a tee. Shame we never got that Rude/Boss Man in the WWF as this was a great start to the whole Boss Man/Heenan family feud.

Eddie also provided top notch entertainment. I found the undercard very weak though. Dean Malenko even had a stinker with Scotty 2 Hotty. Haven't watched it in a while, but I remember scotty 2 hottys match was one of the best of the night.

Haven't watched it in a while, but I remember scotty 2 hottys match was one of the best of the night. I've seen some commenting online that the Scotty and Malenko matches are underrated. Perhaps they aren't referring to this one. At several points there were clear miscommunications. The worst though was Malenko working Scotty's left leg most of the match, with Scotty no selling it. He even hopped up and down on his left foot to do the work with no selling at all. At one point Scotty runs into Dean and they clearly aren't sure what they're doing. The stutter step and scramble for strikes. Was not good.
