Red Rooster vs. Tito Santana - SNME 1/89 - Who cares about the match? This was all about Bobby Heenan who makes this entire segment.

Just watched In Your House: Final Four. Pretty average event. Was a great continuation of the Bulldog/Owen storyline and main event was decent. Other than nothing to get too excited about.

Just finished WrestleMania 13. I seem to remember the Sid v Taker match as being boring (was never really a fan of either at that stage!). Cant get over how entertaining it is! Absolutely raging at Bret interfering in the title match.
My heart is racing at the thought of watching the aftermath of this event. Anti American Bret, the Stone Cold juggernaut, gang warfare with the Nation, DOA and Los Boricous. Gonna be a great few weeks catching up with this!

I think this event was truly the turning point for the WWF. You could see by the Summer of 1997 the WWF was really picking up steam. I think the double-turn was the catalyst for that. They really needed Austin to be the top guy but with Undertaker, Bret and Shawn at the top as faces it was kind-of crowded. Turning Bret and then a little later Shawn basically set up the stage for Austin. 1997 was a good year to be a wrestling fan, WCW was still going strong and WWF was picking up steam. Pretty much all year long I switched back and forth from Nitro to Raw and back again.

Pretty much all year long I switched back and forth from Nitro to Raw and back again. I was never a WCW fan so WWF loyalist by default. It seemed like such a busy time for the federation. There’s lots of debate as to turning points, Attitude era beginning etc but WM13 certainly played a huge part. It’s incredible to watch back that era, Rocky Maivia v HHH almost seems like filler at the time. The Hardy Boys (no Z) are jobbers. Mankind feels like he has a shelf life. I’d even forgotten about ECW and AAA being featured. Not sure how it happened but Raw subtly became Raw is War and even watching it by episode, all of a sudden it’s a more edgier product. Such an exciting time!

I always thought 1997 was the best overall year during the MNW era

In your house: Revenge of the Taker. Bret v Austin wasn’t as good as their WM outing but came pretty close. Owen Hart is an absolute riot at this point in 97. Never fully appreciated how good his character was.

Bobby and his brilliant attire at this event... I always loved this: Nothing is showing but I think I know what it is and nobody wants to see that. Lets all celebrate the big win for the Family!

Owen and Bret from Wrestlemania 10.
It just does not get much better than that.
