The Rock vs HHH @backlash 2000. After speaking about it above I had to revisit...absolutely perfect. In fact Backlash blows WM2000 away..Great stuff. Loved the promo Rock cut before the match about "making the promise of the promise OF THE PROMISE Vinces promo was engineer dynamite beforehand too..."card subject to change" Nuclear heat at the mere suggestion Austin might not be there..... JR & Lawler were in fine form too. It's perfect

- I've watched this 3 or 4 times in the last week. Classic stuff.

Royal Rumble 1996.
Honestly? Not a lot better than the 1995 RR. More star power than 95? but an effing jobberfest too.
I didn't mind it being telegraphed as HBKs Rumble at all but the 2 he won are poor enough.

Shawn Michaels vs Mankind 1/25/97 MSG house show. I was there 25 years ago for this. Awesome house show.

Fall Brawl 1995:
Arn Anderson vs Ric Flair. Brilliant match that's sorely underrated.
War Games match...Good grief...🤣🤣🤣

JR & Lawler were in fine form too. It's perfect I can't understand how a singles between the two didn't just headline WM2000. Big Show and Mick were so not needed but I guess the whole McMahon in every corner thing was more important. If this match had headlined with this crowd, would have been up there as one of the best. The whole Backlash card was superior to Mania other than the triangle ladder match.

Austin wasn't cleared to return. They got word late February it would be April before Austin would be cleared to participate in even minimal fashion. So they just moved it all down the road & cooked up the McMahon in every corner crape we got at wm16. It worked out so well...Backlash had a way better crowd

Bulldog and Owen vs. Furnas and Lafon from Final Four. One of my favorite tag matches. Such a unique take on the tag team breakup angle.

Vader/Austin/Hart/Taker. Absolute belter. Beautiful chaos.

Watched the '99 Royal Rumble match tonight and the '03 one last night.
I love the fact the last 4 of Rumble 2003 were Undertaker and 3 guys he had great Wrestlemania matches with that weren't main events, I just found that quite interesting.
Rumble '99 was okay, not one of the best.

Royal Rumble 1994: still very enjoyable...genuine favorite
Royal Rumble 99. One of my faves...King & Vince on commentary is just gold. Some pop when Austin returns.
Royal Rumble 2004: one of those rumbles where you had several potential winners...fantastic

2001 Royal Rumble Match
This is tied with the 92 Rumble as my all time fav. Probably Kane's best match imo...and there's nothing wrong with that. Love Austin in this one...and even though he comes in late, it still seemed as if he had to go through hell to win. Love the barbaric ending with Austin destroying Kane with chairshots before clotheslining him over the top rope and the crowd going mental. Good times.

Watched the 2008 Royal Rumble match.
Michael Buffer being ring announcer was a nice touch. Starting with Shawn/Taker was awesome, it was a really good rumble all round. Santino's elimination was hilarious, so was Hornswoggle eliminating Miz. I'd completely forgotten Piper and Snuka happened in the middle so that got a nice wee pop from me.
Just a great Rumble.

Just finished the second disc of the "Prelude to the Attitude Era" DVD.
RAW Invitational Battle Royal - Ahmed Johnson wins. Okay battle royal, things slow down when they get to the final 4.
Shawn Michaels vs. Vader - Summer Slam 1996. Nice match. Good pacing. Though I think Vader should have looked more dominant.
“Wildman” Marc Mero vs. Faarooq - Okay match, nothing great.
Stone Cold Takes Out Brian Pillman - amazing segment, very violent. Great way to build up Austin.
Rocky Maivia debut - Survivor Series 1996 - kind of boring.
Bret “Hitman” Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin - great match. I really liked the way these guys worked together. Just an amazing feud with amazing matches. Can't say enough about these 2.
Sycho Sid vs. Bret “Hitman” Hart - IYH December 1996 - First time I am seeing this match. Pretty good match. I really liked the finish of this match.
OVERALL: A good DVD, nice set of matches. Really good stuff from Bret, HBK, Austin, and Mankind. Top three matches in my opinion:
1. Austin vs Bret - Survivor Series 1996 2. HBK vs Mankind - IYH Mind Games 3. Undertaker vs Mankind - King of the Ring 1996

Just starting Wrestlemania II. 1990 Piper probably should've listened to the words of 1986 Piper...
Did they add in a "BS" chant to sweeten up Orndorff/Muraco opener?
Mr. T just has horrible form, Roddy ought to have knocked his mohawk off.

Good times. ***** I don't think there's any shame in saying that's Kanes best hour. He was in unbelievable form in this match and it's my favourite Rumble match of all time. I know they had to beat the record at some point, but I'm glad it was talked about as much as it was years ago before Roman beat it. Austins stare down with Rock in the ending when they were both sitting was wild. You just KNEW that was the main event of Wrestlemania!

Last Rumble for a bit, watched the '04 one tonight. One of my favourites, I remember staying up to watch this live. That whole era just lives in my memory so vividly, peak of my watching WWE in 2004-2006.
