No, it isn't the same as it was in the 80's. Every decade is different. Cars are different from the 80's, electronics are different from the 80's, music is different from the 80's, movies and TV are different from the 80's. Different isn't automatically bad. Do I enjoy wrestling as much now as I did in 1984? No. Because I'm not 11 years old anymore. I don't have the imagination I did, and I have a million different distractions. BUT, I can watch the WWE for what it is, and enjoy it. Wrestling has evolved past what it was then, because if it hadn't, it would have gone completely under. From another 80's fan, these are the best two paragraphs I've ever read on here. Especially the boded part.

True but who seriously thinks a no name jobber has a chance of winning anymore? Even my dad, who grew up watching wrestling when he was a kid will see a match such as Daniel Bryan vs Local Jobber, he even knows that the no named guy has no chance of beating someone. I hate the whole old school beat up jobber's for a few months and then get into a title match and win formula. It's so boring now because it's been done to death. Look at Daniel Bryan vs Mark Henry from last weeks Smackdown. They had an excellent Cage Match full of excitement and you truly believed that Bryan may win only for Mark to come back at the end with a World's Strongest Slam off the top rope. To me, that makes someone more of a viable threat to the champion because it took Mark's finishing move plus a little extra something to stop Bryan. If Bryan had spent months beating up jobber's in quick squash matches, there is no way I would have taken him serious against Henry but Bryan has been built up fantastically in the last year or two. See thats what im not a fan of. First off look at Henry, twice the size of Bryan. Why should Bryan be able to take a finishing move plus extra from Henry? That just makes the big man look weak. And in the end Bryan jobbed anyway, so why not just have put over the big man with just the finisher? Back in the day Vader vs Pilman, one powerbomb and it was over. I just love the jobbers, they werent no namers. They were up and commers or guys on there way out. No name jobbers had names those names include, the hardy boys, mic foley, buck zumhofe, Xpac, ddp, theres lots of talented guys who earned there wwe spots by first being jobbers.Didn't know beating up The Undertaker for a debut counted as "jobbing"

Why is this topic still open? the topic creator is a joke account, clearly and he's done nothing but argue in a circle with people. I'd call that trolling.

I don't understand threads like this. If you don't like WWE, then don't watch. If you want to watch wrestling, realize that WWE is not the only wrestling company in the world. You could attempt to suffer through TNA. Or you could branch out to the indies where your wrestling thirst will surely be quenched.

This guy probably doesn't realize that Danielson was signed to WWE before he became an indy star.

PLEASE don't ban him. It's fun to have an idiot to kick around every once in a while. He is one of them...This is great in the sheer retardery of it all.

Basically it seems like the reason he hates WWE today is because the talent they have now can actually wrestle instead of having stupid, goofy, over the top characters that can wrestle as good as a piece of paper.

I'm really not sure what to say to all this.
It's obvious to me that you're a very narrow minded individual who came into this thread with the absolute intention of winding everyone up and, I have to say, you've succeeded.
Congratulations on snaring us in your little trap and getting everyone riled up despite being fully aware of your intentions. You've succeeded in wasting yours and everyone's time with this discussion.
If you're being serious, however, I have to ask you to grow up. Everyone knows that wrestling is more entertaining when you're young because you find it easier to suspend your disbelief so obviously you're going to prefer the period of wrestling when you were most embroiled in the plot and narrative. But please don't allow your disillusionment to stop you enjoying the current product when it's a near mirror image of "The Golden Age" but with splashes of The Attitude Era across the board.
The product isn't what changed, it's you.

You remind me of @darren0411 on Twitter. He goes around countless websites telling anyone who will listen that Gail Kim is trying to destroy TNA, that she demanded both titles upon returning, he throws around words like "bury" & "politics & acts like a wrestling expert & blames the talent for the creative booking just cause his faves lost.

So as an oldschool fan yourself you are going to tell me 80's wrestling is the same as today? Back in the day wrestling was a sport. People didnt know what was going on. Now though its all out. It's more like the circus, they come to town, perform, pack up and start over. Im fine with it being a show. But when they do things to question your inteligence I cant watch. When you see guys like Kane, or Bigshow, or whoever.... basicly giants, jobbing to smaller guys like Hbk or Bryan on a regular basis it just becomes laughable to me. Im fine with smaller guys getting a push but it shouldnt be at the bigger guys expense. This is why I think they need to bring back the random job guys of the 80's. Plus with MMA around now wwe has less of my attention. You want to watch giants smash little guys all day. That's fine. Some people want to watch David beat Goliath. You should know from watching MMA that bigger isn't always better, especially when you look back at early UFC before the weight classes. You're ok with the small guys like HBK, Ric Flair, CM Punk getting pushes, as long as they don't get pushed past the mid card? I mean, if that's what you like, it's what you like. But you are in the extreme minority in never wanting to see any normal or smaller size wrestlers win. The WWE markets to a different audience than you because your opinion is odd, and in the extreme minority. You want a super hero like Hogan? Cena's your guy. He's huge, and he's all about doing the right thing. I don't know why I am putting this much thought into it though. You just created this thread to rile people up, because you enjoy getting people worked up. No not really. I created this thread because I watched some vids on youtube of current wwe and it made me laugh. I just wanted to say I hated current wwe programming. I could care less if someone gets upset or name calls. I dont know any of you. I'll also go ahead and add this. It makes me laugh that people I dont know have peged me for being [INSERT RANDOM NAME CALLING HERE] And yet they always reply to what ever I post. When I think of a person as a joke I do not read there threads. So you're welcome, im glad I give you something to read and I inspire you to name call.

I SERIOUSLY hope there isn't a single person on this website that is arguing that the WWE today is better than the WWE 10 years ago. You are barred from having an opinion.
