You didn't really think it was gone did you?
----------------------------------------------------
Even while Lionsgate was promoting the release of Saw 3D last July-October we'd been hearing internal rumblings that an eighth film would most definitely be happening - at least after the franchise took a much needed short hiatus.
Liongate Vice Chairman Michael Burns recently spoke with CNBC and openly revealed that a new film was in the cards.
"I'm sure, some day, you'll see Saw back in the picture," Burns said, speaking on the potential return of Jigsaw and his infamous games of life and death.
Other than the upcoming The Hunger Games, Lionsgate doesn't have any other major franchises (unless you count Tyler Perry's name). Unless they push hard with You're Next, doing another Saw is a very smart way to some financial gain.

Hey, it's clearly not around for the critical acclaim. It's pretty much guaranteed easy money. If Saw VIII comes out and it happens to be a really good film, I know there would be the few critics who would crapon it just because they have on the others. But they'd have to do some epic movie magic here. If they use Hoffman, how the does he escape the bathroom? Does Gordon go off his rocker and begins his own form of the games? Just how much DID Jigsaw prepare for in case he died? And this is coming from a fan of the series lol.

I agree, I have no qualms about how it ended. This TBH is the first one where I'm going "Ah, I don't know how this is going to work." That is, if it IS made.

If they can get Jigsaw and Gordon back for it, then i'm sure they can make it watchable.

I'm starting to think Saw is trying to be a modern Halloween franchise with all these films.

I've seen up to the fourth movie and I am I fan of the Saw series. However, after watching the fourth film, I was incredibly confused by just who the character are/were and what all they did.

I'm starting to think Saw is trying to be a modern Halloween franchise with all these films. If that is the case, Rob Zombie needs to do a remake of the first one (and ruin it) and then make a ridiculous sequel.

Being a huge fan of the franchise (aside from Saw 4), I'd be happy if they made a new one, but I'm worried that it's going to be worse than the most recent ones. If they do it right, I'm all for it.

Lol me and my friend were just joking about "Saw 20" next year.
Ehh, not a big deal for me. I think Saw are some shitty movies, other than death scenes that can be scene on youtube.

someone should take this, hangover, and transformers and sink it all to the bottom of the ocean using the same ship for efficiency.

First one is the only one with a decent story, mostly for the awesome twist at the end. The rest are meh, but not a bad watch.

If they made another one, I would see it on opening night lol I absolutely love the series. Despite confusing storylines for people who doesnt follow every detail it is extremely thought out which to me gives it an edge over FT13th and NOES.
With that being said, it ended perfectly. So please, even if its easy money, dont make another one!
