People hating on this both A. are probably not fans of the Stooges to begin with and B. are only hating on it on the basis of it being another remake.
I am probably the biggest fan on the Stooges on this board, and while I am absolutely opposed to this movie, and the idea of a remake, if it absolutely must be done, I'm glad to see that they at least got it right. This looks, sounds, and feels like the Three Stooges, the Farrely brothers pretty much got it spot on. The original Stooge shorts were nothing but corny jokes, lame gags, and rehashed bits.
Of the 190 shorts the Stooges made, only about half are original stories. The other half are remakes of Curly era material, with Shemp instead of curly, and filled with anywhere from 60 to 90 percent stock footage and previously filmed material. If Moe was fine with remaking his own films during his own lifetime, why would he care about someone else doing it?
To me, this looks fine. If they absolutely must remake the Stooges, I'm glad to see that they at least appear to have gotten it right. This doesn't look any worse than the crap the Stooges were turning out with Joe Besser and Joe Derita in the 50's and 60's.

I love Sean Hayes, hate Will Sasso, don't even know who the other guy is, but he looks familiar?
Doesn't look great, but doesn't look god awful either.

Love how if you don't like the trailer you're automatically not a Stooges fan.
I grew up watching the Stooges. My cousin and I used to act them out. Love the Stooges.
This movie looks like crap. Plain and simple. I don't care if they called it "The Three Stooges" or "Two Fecks and Will Sasso". The movie looks like dump.

I am a big Stooges fan, and as much as I don't like the idea of doing something like this, this actually looks pretty decent. It is very Stooges-like. But trailers can be deceiving.

It doesn't seem that bad to me. I don't think i'll go see it but it looks alot like the TV show. The Three Stooges were never a "TV show", they appeared in theatrical shorts, most of which pre-dated television by decades, and were shown movie theaters. They did experience a career revival in the 60's when their movies were bundled together in a syndicated package and sold to television stations, but it's inaccurate to refer to Stooges films as "TV Shows", they are actually movies.

I laughed my ass off at the trailer. Thats Stooge comedy to a 'T'.
I didnt expect it to be that true to the shorts; I expected more story with comedy interwined, but Im fine with this. Hilarious.

I thought they did the voices really well and the part with the nun in the bikini got a chuckle. But having Will Sasso in there, it honestly just looked like 3 guys doing a Three Stooges skit on MadTV or something.

Honestly, it looks better than I thought it would. It's pretty much like the old shorts mostly, and I like those a lot. I might go see it now. The voices are pretty much spot on.

as someone that watched copious amounts of three stooges shorts as a child, i don't think that trailer looks anywhere near as bad as you're all making it out to be. does it look like the best movie ever? absolutely not. will it be good for laughs? for those that appreciate the humor, absolutely. i'll definitely be going to see this when it comes out I watched the Stooges with my dad and brother every day before school when I was a kid, I loved the Stooges. That being said, I was thinking exactly what you typed. I'm with you. It looks silly, and more pop-culture friendly than the Stooges ever were, but it's not terrible. It looks like the Three Stooges... Just in 2011.

Love the Stooges!! Ill def see this, it looks decent for what it is (a recreation)...You cant compare recreated things to the originals. Should be pretty funny! Anything with Kate Upton in it is win in my book. Yummy!

Long time fan of the Stooges, and I've got mixed feelings on it. It definitely captures the feel of it, but I'm not sure if its gonna work. I'll probably end up seeing it.

They play the Stooges very well, but they should have stuck to the original concept instead of modernizing it.

Because the original Stooge movies were classical masterpieces with amazing writing, memorable acting, and topical humor that made you think ...
... oh yeah, they were just silly "leave your brain at the door" slapstick comedy. This looks just fine when you compare it to the old movies.
I'll admit, I got some chuckles from it.

It looks exactly exactly like everything I've ever seen of The Three Stooges.
Which means I have no interest in ever trying to struggle through it.
