That mask look ugly as, dont know why WWE didnt add the black scratch design look from the original mask! They edited his Superstar page on WWE.com already too. I have his pic as my Avatar. |

I went onto Facebook, didnt think.... raw ruined for me aha.
So then I had to watch the video.
and well, what the shizzle, Kane looks like a mix of Abyss, Predator & MS Paint.
Still, pretty cool though.

What doesnt make sense is why he has black burn marks around his eyes again? When did he burn his face to get those marks again? I think it was a poor way to re-introduce Kane with a mask again, I would have made Mark Henry throw his face into flames 4 months ago instead of the original way he left!

His last return promo gave us a clear view of his new mask, the 97 mix 02 version. Was his return rushed? I think it's a big middle finger from WWE to us showing Kane from the best stages in his career, then giving us a great mask and a sh*tty costume

As i said in another thread, id be stunned if that isnt just a temporary attire... i mean, even little things like no studs on the glove... i know that's not a big deal, but for something featured in the vignettes and something soooo simple to add it seems a bit odd...
Also, i imagine that Kane wasnt supposed to return to this RAW... he was probably the back up for the 'itbegins' promo incase the actual plans for them fell through, but something has changed with them so he returned early so they dont clash with eachother
It looks like they will try and state that Kane was in a secluded place, so they will probably say it was a home made job, and he will given something better in the next weeks.
What i'd love to see is Kane get some great entrance attire... something like a grungy welder / blacksmith inspired look to put a new less super-natural spin on the burnt red monster.
Keep the welding entrance mask and some sort of leather / bulky iron ripped and worn jumpsuit...
Sorry i know it sounds cheesy, and i'm not saying Kane should have a new welding gimmick, but i think theres something in this 'welding' thing lookwise... like i said it could really bring the 'fire element' back to kane without having to resort to the supernatural like the 90's

Point me to the article that says that the black around his eyes are supposed to be burn marks... It's face paint. Because if he didn't wear it, it would look awkward. I don't think anyone ever said that he was burned specifically around his eyes. If anything it was supposed to be makeup to cover up any visible scars. My theory goes along with Shane Helms' stints as The Hurricane. He wasn't in a tragic fire but wore the same make up under his masks to further "hide identity" of who he was. That and I can imagine it looks awkward if you don't wear the paint with those types of masks. Mysterio even wore it on numerous occasions to add to his costume look. |

Welcome back The Big Monster KANE. It has been a long time coming. Ever since KANE removed the mask back in 2003 he has not been used right at all for years now. Yeah he won that crappy ECW title at Wrestlemania 28 against Chavo and held it for what like 3 months and I believe he lost it to Mark Henry in a triple threat match at Night Of Champions. That title was a waste to be honest with all of you. Then KANE won the Money In The Bank in 2010 then would cash it in against Rey Mysterio later that night to become World Heavyweight champion.
When KANE had the mask he beat Stone Cold Steve Austin back in 1998 at The King Of The Ring in a first blood match if I could remember correctly and lost it the following night on RAW. That was a pretty good match by the way.
My whole point is that every time KANE has won the WWE or World Heavyweight title he has not held onto it for a long period of time. Yeah I know we can say that for a lot of wrestlers but me personally I feel the WWE and World Heavyweight championship means nothing in day and age of professional wrestling.
Hopefully with KANE putting the mask back on he will be back to the 1998 KANE where he just dominated for a long period time. I really do hope the WWE does not drop the ball with bring KANE back with the mask and not properly using him the right way. It would just be a waste and another disappointing decision made by the WWE.

I agree that the attire was a bit cheesy. I really like the mask design. I think it would of looked better black, but I'll take it anyway we get it. Wig or not I think the hair looked good and was a good touch. I really hope he doesnt touch a microphone or cuts any promos. Just goes back to destroying anyone whos at the wrong place at the wrong time. Cant wait to see how they play this "ressurection" out.

Gutted I didn't watch Raw last night. I have been a huge Kane fan ever since I started watching wrestling in 1998. I bought all the figures I could find, Had a t-shirt, Had posters the guy was so epic. Until I stopped watching wrestling in 2004 Kane was always my favourite guy. When I restarted in 2006 Kane had become a joke. He'd been jobbed out so many times that his character had lost it's way. Then when he out of the blue won Money In The Bank last year I marked out and Kane had in my opinion a decent World Title run. I'd been hoping for years for him to put the mask back on and now I'm kinda disappointed. The attire firstly sucks. It looks like a homemade thing knitted by an old granny. Secondly the cartoony flame on the leg sucks. The Mask I don't mind but i'd prefer the 2002 half mask. Happy that he's back though...just hope they improve the attire and mask.

He chokeslammed Cena to start a feud with him, and didn't go after Henry because that's not the reason he's back. They made it look like he would go after Henry, the shock was supposed to be that he slammed Cena instead. And they should explain it that Cena is the poster boy that Kane could never be because of the way he's looked, and now he's back to take out people like Cena for always holding him back.
And i must say, from 03-11 the Kane character was one of the BIGGEST mis-uses of a character in wrestling history. When he first took off the mask they had that shock factor, and the first year without the mask he had a tiny bit going for him. After the first year, you could tell Kane without the mask just wasn't working. And they kept it off him still. All the fans wanted the mask back, and they still kept it off him. In 2010, the feud with Rey, everyone wanted the mask back, they teased the mask, everyone went crazy, and they STILL kept it off him. I appreciate him finally having the mask back, but i still give a big middle finger to WWE for keeping it off him as long as they did. Kane vs. Big Show, Cena, Undertaker, CM Punk, all have happened before but now they seem much more interesting now that old Kane is back. I can see Kane vs. Undertaker III at WrestleMania just for the nostalgia of a masked Kane vs. Undertaker. It would work, a WrestleMania featuring Cena vs. Rock, a potential Y2J vs. CM Punk title match, and Undertaker vs. the new masked Kane would be the best WrestleMania on paper in a long time.

The mask is back on, which according to the impression I got from people around here, instantly makes him a better wrestler. I've been outspoken on this before, but the mask is truly unnesscesary. His character has no mystery anymore, we all know what he looks like. 2010 proved he could still be successful and relevant in what he did. His rivalries with Edge and Undertaker were great.

If Mysterio took his mask off right now and came out wrestling, people wouldn't care for him as much. Just like they didn't in WCW. Its just the way it is. |
