Always liked Shamrock, he was quite over and was hoping he would have had a WWE title run beating HBK...but i guess HBK being HBK prevented that.
He also had a pretty good match with Bret on RAW. I also enjoyed his feud with Rock and Mankind, the triple threat cage match they had at Breakdown was a great underrated match and the one with Mankind at Judgement Day 98 was pretty good.
I remember he had an awesome match at Backlash 99 with Undertaker which was one of the first times Taker worked a slow methodical match, the fans and the IWC from what i recall hated it at the time, fans were even chanting "boring" but watching it now, it is severely underrated.

I think Shamrock had a good IC Title reign. His feud with Owen was pretty good also and I think that should of been one of the matches which should of pushed him into the WWF Title division, if he was put into the WWF Title division properly by midish 98 he would of become a true great deal in the WWF along with Austin and Rock. I did enjoy his involvement with the Corp. though. I would like to see him return to WWE and make an appearance because we haven't seen him there since he left.
Mero - I think he was a pretty good wrestler but his mouth in 2007 may of now lead him to not being able to do as much in wrestling as he could have before 07.

Ah yes Shamrock... man i used to be so into him for such a long period of time, i still like him a lot it's a shame he's seemingly tarnished his bad ass legacy over the years and become somewhat of a laughing stock among mma fans it seems, i don't completely understand why since i'm not a big mma fan so i never got into the specifics. What i can say is that he was the first to get me remotely intrested in mma just because of his look and bad ass aura, almost eactly the same reason i'm such a big brock lesnar fan and keep an eye out for his ufc career even tho i almost never watch or care about anything else mma wise. Ken seemed to be the real deal, he didn't become an ufc legend for doing nothing so whatever arguments some people may come up with, in my book he'll always be one tough s.o.b and i respect the hell outta him for accomplishing what he did, specially in the early days when ufc seemed to be more brutal in some ways than todays standards. he has such a fantastic look to be a pro wrestler too, he looked intense and jacked up all the time, ready to snap someone in half,i watched some old match of him a while ago against the rock for the ic belt and man, he was HUGE,built like a tank. yet he was still agile and a damn good wrestler. I see an incredible amount of similarities between shamrock and brock, both seemed to be "above" pro wrestling because of their legit backgrounds but both just have pro wrestler written all over them even if they don't want to admit it. i also got shamrocks book which made me respect him even more, there are some insane stories in there about his early life and getting nto fights, it feels like your reading a script for an action movie lol, amazing book, highly recommended altho the version i have is half biografie, half mma instructions with lots of submission photographs and explanations,it's a huge thick book but only half of it is really intresting from a biografie standpoint. Haven't heard anything about him for a long, loong time, wonder what he's upto these days, i hope he isn't still trying to get mma fights ? from what i understand he's kinda like the ric flair of mma, he never wants to stop even tho it's obvious his best days are far gone, and i guess that's the reason people make fun of him these days then, because he lost a lot of fights which made his record seem less impressive than it used to be when he was a beast in that octagon. if he was still in his prime today, i would've LOVED to see him fight brock, man that would be some battle i always thought that if he had stuck around longer, and perhaps had justa tad more charisma/comedic timing, he could've been what kurt angle used to be in wwe, aside from the gold medals both were kinda similar in style & intensity. Hah now that reminds me...i even have some old movie about underground fighting with shamrock in the lead called " champions", it was a decent flick if your a fan.

Always was a big fan of Shamrock, but as for not making it to the main event, he simply had bad timing. While his mic skills lacked, he was great in the ring and people go behind him. Problem was that Austin, Taker, Rock, etc... were all popular too. Had Shamrock debuted a few years before he did or stayed w/ the WWF, there is no doubt that he would have won atleast 1 world title. Bret really wanted to do a program w/ him, and had the screwjob never happened, they probably would have had a big feud that would have pushed Ken to the main event. The guy was good, but the 2 years he was in the WWF was just bad timing, as some of the biggest stars ever were also big at that time.

Shamrock's work in the ring was decent. But the fact is he never really got out of the 'green' department. He was always slightly robotic in the ring in my opinion. He was brought in from the UFC and thus he was quite a stiff performer. He did have some great matches with Shawn Michaels and The Rock no less. In addition he was limited on the mic. Just didn't have what it took to be a WWF Champion in the days of the Monday Night Wars.
I believe Shamrock's final WWF appearance was the SmackDown! before Unforgiven 1999; he was scheduled to face Chris Jericho at Unforgiven, however he was replaced by X-Pac.
Marc Mero is an odd one. I liked his work as Johnny B Badd and then as the Wildcat; he had a lot of skill. Mero was always known for the high spots and the hard-hitting style. His match with Leif Cassidy from Final Four 1997 is a nice match (and quite underrated if I'm honest). However then he got surgery, returned and started playing the heel cocky boxer gimmick, where the fans turned on him. He returned and in my mind lost all of his wrestling ability. He was made to look weaker than a girl (I don't care how over Sable was, she made his career take a pitfall with the WWF). His final appearance I believe was in October 1998; he lost to Gillberg in a match where if Mero lost, he'd have to leave the WWF. And he did, and disappeared.

As Jim Cornette said in one of his shoots, Mero was trained to be Johnny b. Badd. When he lost that gimmick, he wasn't as good. I still liked some of his Wildman work, but that was definitely true.
He was also overshadowed by Sable, and when he lost clean to Sable (with a powerbomb, no less) his career was pretty much over. Apparently he was supposed to have a big feud with Austin, but when that happened Austin shot it down. It would have made him look bad to have any trouble at all with someone Sable could toss around.
Sable did a lot more harm than good in the business if you ask me. Sure, she got the Playboy publicity, but if it wasn't her it would have been someone else.
