if various shoots are to be believed smith seemed to have a genuine real life problem with "All American" gimmicks.
as I said above he was said to be disgusted/horrified at being put with Luger in The Allied Powers and lobbioed Vince to get out of it non stop.....he also point blank refused to work with The Patriot Del Wilkes(whom everyone seems to have really liked)I know he worked a tag match with him at Bad Blood in 97 but a one on one program between the two musclemen was outright vetoed by Smith.
