Since the inception of professional wrestling so many years ago, fans around the globe have been entranced and fixated on surprises. The epic return, the run in save and of course the blind siding heel turn. Some of the greatest moments in wrestling history center around our once beloved heroes turning there backs on us and there friends for personal gain. Superstars who once made us smile and cheer, who brought us to tears when winning championships turning there backs on everyone who had ever supported and loved them, those moments are some of the most defining and memorable in history. So, my question is, what is your opinion? What was the most epic, most hated , most shocking, most notorious, greatest heel turn in wrestling history ? Was it Hulk Hogan turning on Randy Savage and joining the nWo? That is perhaps the most famous heel turn in pro wrestling history , but what about Larry Zbyszko turning on Bruno Sammartino or Paul Orndorff's turn on Hulk Hogan so many years ealier? Would you consider Paul Bearer's betrayal of the Undertaker at Summerslam 1996 to be the crowning heel turn moment? What about that notorious Saturday morning when Shawn Michaels put long time tag team partner Marty Jannetty through Brutus Beefcake's barber shop window? Or maybe you are a fan of the Giant jumping ship to the nWo ? Speaking of giants . . . Where does Andre the Giant's development of greed and jealousy towards Hulk Hogan fall in your list? You be the judge . . what is the greatest heel turn of all time?

In my opinion it would have to be Hogan joining the NWO. I think that no one seen it coming. Hogan for most of his career was face and most people did not know he was a heel before coming to the WWF. So when he turned at Bash at the Beach is was great. I am not a Hogan fan but I would still say it was the greatest heel turn.

A personal favourite of mine is Shawn Michaels' turn on Marty Jannetty. I was 12 when this happened and had just started watching WWF. It made such a huge impression on me and hooked me as a wrestling fan.

The thing about Hogan's turn, Heenan ruined it literally like 10 seconds beofre it was to happen. The footage will always be that, and the viewer will always know the outcome 10 seconds before it happens.
No idea what mines would be, will have to think about it, maybe Austin at WMX7, maybe Taker in 2001, maybe Rock in 2003.

without question Hogan at BATB. Bret Hart was good heel turn in the late 90's too

I would say Hogan too as well at Bash At The Beach.
A second pick I would have is when Davey Boy Smith turned on Diesel during a tag match against Men On A Mission. Davey Boy was never a heel in WWE up to that point, and I don't think anyone could ever picture the British Bulldog being a heel.

Hogan without a doubt. I'd say Austin at WrestleMania 17 was a close second.

No love for the double turn with Rock and Mankind at Survivor Series 1998? For shame.

The greatest has to be Hogan at Bash at the Beach because it shook up the whole wrestling world.
My personal favorite heel turn would have to be Shawn Michaels superkicking Marty Jennety and then throwing him through the glass window in the Barbershop.

Hogan in NWO. HBK on the barbershop. HHH hitting the pedigree on Xpac in Euro title match against Shane O'mac

HBK when he superkicked Hogan before SummerSlam.....such an underrated heel turn in my opinion. Even if it only lasted a few weeks

It is and will most likely always be Hogan. Unless Cena turns. i mean it has potential to be bigger than Hogans, but i think it will always be Hogan.

Cena's heel turn won't get a reaction in the sense that Hogan's got. Hogan, even though didn't get the fan reception in 95 in WCW like he did years earlier, still never got heavy amount of boos like Cena gets now.
If Cena goes heel, the fans who booed him as a face will just fart on the heel turn and say "meh" cause he will still be the same John Cena that the fans don't care for to begin with.
