I'm not trying to be stupid here or anything but I honestly couldn't think of one other than his match against Taker at Wrestlemania.
I just wasn't a fan of Batista's work. Nothing personal. Just not a fan.

The match with Henry was definately a clunker but come on, the NWO match with Taker was sick, the free match they had on smackdown was great (might have been two but i dont remember), and the triple threat at Mania was good but way too short, and the night he won in philly I was there live and the place exploaded! With the exception of the Henry match he had a good run and i'd take it over half of the title runs now a days Agreed. The only good thing to come out of Batista's injury was that the WWE started taking Angle seriously again. 2005 was a horrible year for Angle story wise, as he is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, yet the WWE put him in stupid angles like trying to rape Booker T's wife and becoming a racist w/ Davari. I'm glad HBK turned down going to SD after Tista's injury so we could get Angle's awsome "Wrestling Machine" gimmick. His feud w/ Henry sucked, but his feud w/ Taker more than made up for it, and his match w/ Rey and Randy at WM22 was great but too short. That should have been the main event that year. Anywho back to Batista. I always wondered what Batista would have done had he never been injured. Obviously he would have retained the world title as the WWE would have never have had him lose to Henry, and then he would have taken Angle's spot at NWO 2006 and barely gotten by Taker. As for WM, Rey possibly could have still gotten the "do it for Eddie" storyline and won the title at WM, but I doubt it as Batista was still over big when he was hurt. My guess is that he either would have dropped it to Rey in a triple threat match including Orton or have retained against Orton. Well isn't there a rumor that Booker was supposed to win the 06 Rumble but he got eliminated by accidnt or something like that? If thats true I think the whole Rey run would have never happend and the Batista/Booker feud would have been moved up 3 months to Mania instead of Summer Slam

The whole Taker feud was brilliant! Like someone above said: prior to WM23 Batista was havin rather lousy matches & people expected him to phone it in at Mania. boy did Batista prove them wrong.

I just can't get into watching Batista. He's just boring to me. He had his amazing matches and moments, no doubt, but I just can't seem to like him.

Never heard that he was booked to win the rumble though.

The whole feud with Undertaker was the best, IMO.

His match w/ Mr. Kennedy at the Great American Bash 2006 is remembered for being a blood bath. The match really wasn't anything but Batista beat the crapout of Kennedy and the part where he got busted open is still one of the sickest spots I've ever seen in wrestling.

I remember reading if Batista wasn't injured in 2006 and Eddie was alive, WM22 would have been a lot different, these were the rumored matches: - Triple H vs. John Cena - WWE Title (was going to happen regardless) - Randy Orton vs. Batista - World Title (Orton the rumble winner) - Eddie Guerrero vs. Shawn Michaels (feud was to start at Survivor Series during the RAW vs SD elimination match) - Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle plus with the matches like Edge vs. Foley and probably Benoit vs. Mysterio it would have been one hell of a WM and probably one of the best ones.

In my opinion: WrestleMania 23 - Batista (c) vs. Undertaker WrestleMania 26 - Batista (c) vs. John Cena

First thing first: Batista is one of the most underrated performers in WWE history.
Secondly, I truly believe that Batista vs. Triple H in Hell in a Cell at Vengeance 2005 is not only Batista's greatest match, it is also the best Hell in a Cell match in WWE history and one of the promotion's 25 best matches. It was that good and everything Hell in a Cell should be, without reverting to the death-defying spot.

The guy could move well for his size, and when paired w/ a good opponent, he delivered. He seems to get similar hatred that Goldberg did, when Goldberg was also pretty underrated(the guy sold moves better than most I've ever seen). 2) While Lesnar vs Taker is the best HIAC imo, Batista vs HHH is right behind it. The match was perfect from begining to end, and this was the match that really sold Batista as a true main eventer.

I actually enjoyed his Summerslam '08 match with Cena and the Mania 26 match. His match with Taker and Mania was also great and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Him and Edge always used to put on a decent match. As mentioned before, his feuds with Undertaker and John Cena were also extremely entertaining. Didn't personally like his feud with Triple H. In retrospect, I didn't give Batista a chance. But to be fair, he wasn't any good as a face after 2008. His heel turn turned his career (and my opinion about him) around, and even his mic skills improved with the heel turn. If he returned, I could see him putting on a few good matches with Jack Swagger, Sheamus and Cody Rhodes.

But the only reason a Booker/Batista feud was rumored for SummerSlam 2006 is because of a shoot fight that transpired at a SummerSlam promotional shoot that May. Regardless, they had a good match at Survivor Series 2006.

what makes Batistas victory in HIAC even more staggering is the fact that it was the ONE time HHH was pinned in HIAC.....
vs Cactus Jack-win vs Jericho-win vs Nash-win vs HBK-win vs Big Show and McMahons-win vs Legacy-win.
he also only lost 2 out of 6 Elimination Chambers-his first and last. absolutely obscene IMO.

while going through the Orton/UT thread I was thinking about ol Daves contributions and what was his best match? since he is official property of the Classic board now(like Edge) lets discuss.I was never a big fan of Daves work but he did produce the goodies a couple of times. Im going to say it was either his losing effort against UT at WM(blinding match IMO) or his HIAC against HHH....which I still find VERY entertaining.I wouldnt mind a Mattel elite flashback of him in that attire actually. thoughts? "Dave's best matches" isn't a very long list. He was excruciating to watch most of the time. However, he had a few decent moments: vs. HHH at Vengeance 2005. This was the only Batty-HHH match worth anything. It was much better than the egg they laid at Wrestlemania. vs. HBK Backlash '08, ONS '08. HBK can make anyone look good and Batista was no exception. One of Batty's top 2 feuds. I have to give Batty credit for selling SCM like a gunshot. vs. Cena, SummerSlam 2008. Much like Hogan and Warrior, this looked bad on paper. Yet we got a first glimpse into how these two could bring out the best in one another. vs. Cena, WM 26, ER '10, OTL '10- This series of matches is Batty's finest feud. Granted, it was one-sided because he was leaving, but he and Cena had magic between them. One criticism: Batty gives Cena 7 chair shots, but Cena refuses to give up and gives Batty the AA a few minutes later. This wasn't Batista's fault, but I thought it was stupid booking.

yeah it was another example of "SuperCena Syndrome".
I also had forgotten about ONS2008-that was another super match.
