The whole time I wanted Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" to be playing. It just seemed to fit Jericho's stupid motions and gestures the entire time.
As far as my actual reaction to the re-re-redebut, I was apathetic. I was never much of a Jericho fan in the first place, so seeing him come back, again, was pretty anti-climatic. I will appreciate a good jaw-jacking session between Punk and him however, if WWE is smart enough to do that.

He came out, Crowd went nuts. He didnt give them what they wanted, so they boo'd. This is classic jericho. Remember, jericho doesnt pander...he was making a blatant mockery.
The video said "she has spoken". The video seemed to show the little girl having control over him. When we know who or what she represents, itll all make sense. The little girl is clearly significant.

The WWE stories have always been shallow. Why on earth would anyone now expect there to be some sort of inception style storyline with layers of depth? You guys are always disappointed because you always expect the world when they have never given it to you, and never will. It's like an abused wife going back and expecting their husband to change.

Imagine how pissed off everyone would be if WWE had Jericho come out on RAW next week and do the SAME exact thing? Just run around the ring going "YYYYEEEAAAAH BABY! YEEEEAAAAAH" and then just leaves.
I wouldn't put it past them. WWE has a history of dragging things out just a little too long to the point where people get fed up.
I am personally against the idea that everyone needs 9 weeks of videos leading up to a debut/return.....I think it would be much better if these superstars just showed up and attacked whoever they will be feuding with. But I guess WWE thinks the build up will lead to better ratings, but it never does.

I think that the girl controlling him is making him come back as a face, but he doesn't want to, so he is trying his best to make the crowd hate him without doing anything heelish.

Exactly. The sad fact is, as much as we all love the WWE, it's still professional wrestling at the end of the day, and it isn't designed to be very deep. Most of the market is comprised of a young audience that just wants to see good guy A fight bad guy B. It's that simple. |
