So yeah, seeing as the last major films for 2011 have been released.
Whats been your favourite movie of 2011?
For me it's either: Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Still have a few thing to see (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Melancholia and Hugo), but heres my top 20:
1. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy 2. The Artist 3. Blue Valentine 4. Submarine 5. Drive 6. Source Code 7. Warrior 8. Shame 9. I Saw The Devil 10. We Need To Talk About Kevin 11. Super 8 12. 50/50 13. Attack The Block 14. The Deep Blue Sea 15. The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn 16. Tyrannosaur 17. Snowtown 18. Tangled 19. Kill List 20. Hanna
Poorest year for cinema in quite a long time. Think The Artist is the only film on that list I'll even remember in ten years time.

Hasn't been a great year for movies for me. I am having a tough time with it, but I guess I would go with either the last Harry Potter movie, or Captain America.

I've only seen a few films this year, actually only really seen Cap, Green Lantern and X-Men, still need to watch Thor and Harry Potter.
So, so far I'd say Cap was my favourite film of the year, however neither of the other two were bad, infact I really loved First Class, and GL aswell, really liked how it felt like a superhero film and wasn't too based in reality like it was marketed.

Slowly putting together a top ten for a site I write for, but if I had to name one it would be Drive.

There's still a whole bunch I need to see, but in terms of pure, selfish enjoyment, I don't think anything will top Super 8.
In terms of flat out best movie I've seen this year, Moneyball.
EDIT: To be fair, I also absolutely loved Drive and 50/50.

Only movie I saw this year was The Thing, so that is my favorite my default. Haven't gotten a chance to see a lot of the movies I was interested in.

I really didn't see much released this year. Wanted to see Tinker Tailor but never got round to it, REALLY want to see The Artist, and I'll be seeing Dragon Tattoo on Friday so maybe that will change things. For now, I'll say Blue Valentine (was that released 2010, or 11?) which I found fantastic.
On a side note, I am legitimately baffled at the praise Drive got. Technically, the film was very well made (the direction, the score , the locations etc.), but I felt almost sedated by Gosling's character everytime he spoke. I'm really unsure as to what they were trying to achieve with such an un-reactive, emotionless, essentially stoic protagonist. It didn't make sense within the context of the film which often demanded the viewer's sympathy and interest for Gosling's character.

Drive or Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Loved them both.
I'd put Apes slightly above Drive.
