Has anyone heard about the verizon 4G outages today? This sucks for me because I got a new phone today and they only activate phones through the air now and I can't activate it.

They have been having 4G outages all month. Didn't you get an iPhone though? I don't know how the 4G outages affect it though considering it's not a 4G phone.
EDIT: Seems like 3G services aren't totally out. It's really spotty though.

I've called Verizon several times and I've gotten several different sides of what I can do to activate my phone, all not working. Very unhappy with Verizon right now.

Most of Verizon's 4G devices are indeed activated "over the air" now, rather than from the old *228 number. In fact, calling that can brick the phone. 4G coverage isn't necessary to do it, though, so I'm not sure why they're having such an issue. Must be 3G outages too.
I have a 4G phone that was activated over the air, but I don't even have 4G within 150 miles.
