So im watching the new Stone Cold DVD and I watched the title match between him and Shawn. And for the live of me I couldnt think of another match between the two at all. Did they have any other One on One matches other then Wrestlemania 14?

yeah, the KOTR one was quite interesting,actually...they were the Tag Champs, but despised each other, and were only in it together because they hated the Hart Foundation worse...to quote HBK to Stone Cold : " I'm not here to help you...I'm here to hurt THEM!"

REALLY good match. Especially since it was kinda thrown together last minute since the original plan was Shawn vs. Bret where if Bret couldn't beat Shawn in under 10 minutes he would never wrestle in the states again. I think Bret had to pull out due to legit knee injury.

interestingly enough,if you think about it,they just kinda pushed those stips into the summerSlam main event that year... if Bret Hart didn't win the WWF Championship, then he would never wrestle in the U.S. again ,and if special referee Shawn Michaels didn't call the match fairly,he wouldn't be able to wrestle in the U.S. again either..

I really enjoyed Michaels/Austin as a tag team. It was short lived but pretty fun while it lasted.

yeah, wasn't that where Austin walked off with his belt and left HBK to be pummelled by the Hart Foundation?

I always thought it was a shame that Austin and Michaels never got to meet-up when both were at the top of their game. Had 2001 Stone Cold and 1996-97/2009 Shawn Michaels, it may have produced one of, if not THE, greatest match in WWE history. As it is, we have to settle for two excellent matches from an era where story was pushed, at times, in favor of in-ring work.

The only Raw to ever come to my area was during Austin and Michaels reign as tag champs. They faced LOD and Undertaker fought Sid in a Wrestlemania rematch. I think it was the week before KOR 97. I've travelled to several Raws, Smackdowns, and PPVs since, but this is still my favorite show I've been to by far. I just loved that time period so much. Austin was just starting to take off as a face. The Hart Foundation was in full swing. The Undertaker/Kane/Paul Bearer storyline was in its begining phase with Bearer having control of Taker. Those were good times indeed!
I do believe Wrestlemanian and KOR were the only two televised matches between Austin and Michaels. Austin did say on the new DVD that they faced each other several times in house show main events while he was still the Ringmaster. He said even though he wasn't over at the time, they needed somebody who could go out and have a good match with Michaels and send the crowd home happy.

Actually that was the stipulation they did have at Summerslam 97...if Bret didn't win the title he wouldn't wrestle in the US again and if HBK (as the referee) didn't call the match down the middle he won't be allowed to wrestle in the US.

Yeah from the Rumble to Mania in 01 were the only time Austin was just as good as he was in 98 and 99 in my opinion and don't get me wrong I LOVED Austin the entire time he was in the WWE but 01 and 02 are a huge blur to me when it comes to Austin. More so with 02 as he wasn't around for much of it and in 01 the whole Invasion thing was such a cluster I couldn't really keep up with it.
