Commissioner of NSW: Gubayama Rokkaku
Colour Commentator: Edward Merchant (A competent, non-gimmick sports broadcaster who's love of wrestling lead him to become an announcer)
Play-By-Play: Father Jean-Paul Pittman (a black Cajun pastor who's catchphrase is “Lawd have Merceh!”)
Ring Announcer: Colin Maynard (English Chat Show host who's career flopped due to his borderline psychotic aggressive interview technique, frequently makes fun of the competitors as they make their way to the ring. While describing stipulations for matches he will often make an offensive comparison to a real life controversy in order to annoy the crowd)
Backstage Interviewer: Cathy Gomez (a hyperactive, coked up nineteen year old who will barely wait for a question to be finished before she asks her next one)
Referee 1: Alyssa Stone
Referee 2: Asuka Katajima
Referee 3: Emma Scatter
WRESTLING TALENTLEGENDARYThere are only two “Legendary” wrestlers in NSW and for the foreseeably future it will stay that way. These two wrestlers, Ansgard the Conquerer and Slayer don't feature much in the day to day wrestling activities but have a neverending rivalry to be called the top dog of the fed which supersedes all other title matches without interfering with feuds too much. Such is the power of these two men is that if they combined forces they would be a match for the entire roster at once. They are the most powerful, dominating wrestlers in the industry and their war against each other is never ending and no man beyond their rival has ever beaten them.
Ansgard the Conqueror
From: Valhalla
Weight Class: Super Heavyweight
Theme Song: “Nemesis” by Two Steps from Hell
Finishing Move: “Odin's Raven” (Fireman's Carry Gutbuster)
Standing at 7'2 and weighing 460lbs of sheer muscle, Ansgard is a mighty titan with the spirit of the vikings empowering his every move giving him inhuman, Godlike power over the rest of the roster. He fights not for championships or for glory but simply to vanquish his rival Slayer back to the depths of the underworld where he belongs. He is a proud, noble and mighty warrior who's strength is matched only by his speed as he is surprisingly fast for a man his size. He is the largest man on the roster and possesses the strength of Gods, capable of slamming and smashing all adversaries with the greatest of ease. Much like rival Slayer no “mortal” has ever beaten him.
Slayer
From: The Nether
Weight Class: Super Heavyweight
Theme Song: “Progenies of the Great Apocalypse” by Dimmu Borgir
Finishing Move: World Breaker (Torture Rack Neckbreaker)
Smaller than Ansgard at only 6'8 and weighing 370lbs, Slayer is the darkness in the abyss and what he lacks in size on Ansgard he makes up for with blistering power and additional speed. He is a lurking presence that can be around any corner, behind any door and strikes with the power of all of Hell's combined fury. While Ansgard's role is to protect the NSW competitors from the wrath of Slayer, Slayer simply exists to inflict misery on all who dare cross his path leaving trails of broken bodies and sheer destruction in his wake. The hooded, masked monster that is Slayer is no doubt the most dangerous, malicious competitor in the company however more scary than his destructive power is the hook and chain that he wields to maim his enemies.
MAIN EVENT“Hunter” Harry Jackson (NEUTRAL)
From: Jacksonville, Florida
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand
Finishing Move: The Crosshair (Shining Wizard)
Former GWF world champion and Hall of Famer from Jacksonville, Florida, “Hunter” Harry Jackson is more than just a wrestler. He's a businessman, a TV personality, an NRA member and of course? A Hunter. Far smarter than your average hunter though, he brings class and prestige to the “gun toting hicks” sport, something which he does in wrestling too. He's a higher breed of wrestler and considers himself to be the diamond standard of the industry. Although he spent the majority of his career as a heel, he has become more of a neutral entity later in his career as he hits his late thirties. Jackson is a real anti-hero who will take out faces and heels alike simply to be called the best. He brings a smooth, methodical, technical style to the ring and finishes each match with “The Crosshair”, a vicious shining wizard.
“The Voice” Johnny Caparo (HEEL)
From: Sacramento, California
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Shake” by Chris Walsh
Finishing Move: Party Crasher (Lungblower)
The quintessential cocky heel, Johnny Caparo is an ex-trance DJ and megalomaniac who's loud-mouthed antics granted him the nickname “The Voice”. His popularity in and around the California club scene is undeniable and he is hugely over whenever the NSW comes to Venice Beach but anywhere else he is simply seen as a loud mouth punk of a youth who needs to be put in his place. He brings loud music, rule-breaking antics and constant complaining to the ring and has his manager, long-suffering girlfriend Cherry attend all of his matches to swing things in his favour when Caparo can't quite get the job done on his own.
Kaz Hiyashida (FACE)
From: Okinawa, Japan
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Wherever I May Roam” by Metallica
Finishing Move: Kasu Kick (Superkick)
One of the most popular faces in Japan, Kaz Hiyashida is the lightning fast striker and brawler that is the cream of the crop of the puro resu circuit. Virtually silent backstage his actions speak louder than words as he brings high-flying action and devastating strikes with him wherever he goes. He has a long standing rivalry with Gubayama Rokkaku from back in their puro days and though he is generally respectful of everyone he will always disobey the orders of Rokkaku for this reason. Though he is quiet and generally conveys the attitude he is a face because will always work against heels, save people receiving beatdowns and never cheats and always aims to win by putting on a great performance.
“Demolition Man” Ross Lambert (HEEL)
From: Temecula, California
Weight Class: Heavyweight
Theme Song: “Falling Away From Me” by KoRn
Finishing Move: XG K9 (Angle Slam)
The Anti-American American Ross Lambert is a new spin on a classic gimmick. The long-haired Gothic looking bruiser despises American's expansionist ways and is very outspoken and critical of the American government's decisions as his promo's usually consist of trashing the decisions of Obama, Bush or whoever the local senator is. More important than his Anti-Government attitude however is his passionate hatred for the flag-waving, God-fearing Americans making him an absolute hit with the Southern States crowd. He arguably gets the best heel reactions of all the competitors in the company, even better than Slayer.
“Rockstar” Zakk Venom (FACE)
From: New York City
Weight Class: Heavyweight
Theme Song: “Kickstart my Heart” by Motley Crue
Finishing Move: Power Chord (Oklahoma Slam)
How does Zakk Venom spend his time off when he's not shilling his heavy metal band “The Broken Art”'s albums and going on tour? He spends it by kicking your lily ass in Vegas just the way Satan intended. One of the bigger guys in the company standing at 6'5 and weighing 280lbs, he shreds the ring like he does the guitar strings with devastatingly powerful slams and strikes as well as hair-rising suicide dives and high-flying that makes him one of the most versatile and exciting combatants in the company. Whether it's a Win, Loss or a Draw for the incomparable Zakk Venom, the fans go home rocked. That much is true.
UPPER MID-CARDAlexa Valentine (FACE)
From: Trenton, New Jersey
Weight Class: Featherweight
Theme Song: “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi
Finishing Move: Heartbreaker (Codebreaker)
Unquestionably the prettiest of the pack, Alexa Valentine is a through and through heartbreaker with armies of admirers around the world. Make no mistake though, Ms. Valentine is more than just a pretty face in a punk rock attire. She's a physical competitor mixing a classic cruiserweight style with vicious MMA style knee strikes which might not break your heart but will absolutely certainly break your jaw. However even then she's not just the tough bitch on the block, out of the ring she shows incredible femininity and is one of the kindest, nicest, down to earth people on the roster thus improving the fans enamour with her. Push her too far though and she will make you regret it.
Bodhi Sattva (HEEL)
From: Columbus, Ohio
Weight Class: Lightweight
Theme Song: “Bodhisattva” by Steely Dan
Finishing Move: The Enlightening (Cross Armbreaker)
Bodhi Sattva (born Chad Harttman) from the looks of things appears to be your average pretty boy who thinks he's God's Gift. However, Bodhi's ego goes MUCH further than that. In Buddhist Practice, the Bodhisattva is a person who has achieved the ultimate goal of spiritual enlightenment through decades of study and meditation but instead of choosing to die he helps other Buddhists to become enlightened too as an act of total selflessness. Bodhi Sattva believes that he is the wrestling equivalent of one. He believes that his form of wrestling, admittedly a highly talented submission and purist specialising type of offence is the best there is and that every time he competes in the ring he is enlightening the fans to the plight of true wrestling. So far entrenched in his God complex is he that he wrestles ever match under “The Bodhi Challenge” rules he creates for himself. (See Footnotes)
“Long Arm” Chris Lawson (FACE)
From: Los Angeles, California
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Da Truth” by Bad Azz
Finishing Move: The Verdict (Gorilla Clutch)
Chris Lawson is quite simply the man who can. Growing up as a poor African-American in a struggling Los Angeles neighborhood, he went from rags to riches thanks to hard work and natural brilliance. Lawson is a Harvard Law School Graduate who was one of the top Criminal Prosecution Lawyers in Los Angeles having graduated Magna Cum Laude and been scouted straight into one of LA's top firms. However despite his great academic success and also his early success as a lawyer he gave up ambitions of becoming a District Attorney in order to become a wrestler instead. Having trained in Taekwando he brings blisteringly hard kicks and excellent submission fighting to the ring with him.
“Trouble” Frankie Whittaker (HEEL)
From: Boston, Massachusetts
Weight Class: Lightweight
Theme Song: “Mr. Mother
er” by The Murderdolls
Finishing Move: Trouble Maker (Sliced Bread No. 2.)
Trouble's name says it all really. He's a pain in the ass who constantly finds himself in hot water but the word “Trouble” just doesn't seem quite severe enough for the extent he takes it to. For the host of “Trouble TV”, Trouble has an extreme case of deep-rooted, psychotic attention seeking tendencies and he satisfies this by riling up people that are bigger than him and stronger than him to get his buzz. Trouble often gets his ass kicked for it but the high he gets is unmatched as he does everything he can to wind up his opponents. Though it seems innocent enough to begin with as Trouble does bread and butter pranks like a bucket of water perched atop a door, eventually a self one-upmanship will begin and what starts off as innocent pranks degrades into warped and depraved acts like harassing family members and digging up skeletons in the closet to piss off his rivals.
“Mr. KO” Kudo Yasuda (FACE)
From: Sapporo, Japan
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Poison” by Takashi Sorimachi
Finishing Move: Yakuza Knee (A Flying Knee Strike to the head, Busaiku Knee Kick)
Another Japanese wrestling sensation is Kudo Yasuda, Mr. Knockout who follows a strict code of wrestling ethics known as “R-3”. Rules, Responsibility and Respect. Rules regards to the rules of the ring. He will never argue with a referee is an upholder of in-ring justice, often willing to get involved to thwart the plans of cheating heels. Responsibility means an adversity to risk-taking if it puts them both in danger. Respect is what he believes all competitors fight for in the ring and that by show-casing your abilities you earn Kudo's respect and vice versa his skills, which consist of brutal martial arts strikes and ground and pound technical fighting will earn yours. Never one to be underestimated, his deadly Yakuza Knee has broken jaws, cracked skulls and broken noses.
Michael Callahan (HEEL)
From: Kelso, Washington
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Days like These” by Reality Bubble
Finishing Move: Victory Lock (Standing STF)
An All-American College Graduate with a degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Callahan considers himself to be a cut above the rest. Having once ran (unsuccessfully) for mayor his promotional skills are immaculate as his charisma on the campaign trail was thwarted only by his running rivals decades of experience that he had on him. A purist in the ring, Callahan advocates a strict style of technical wrestling and plenty of subterfuge in order to pick up the win.
MIDCARDA.C.E. (FACE)
From: Harlem, New York
Weight Class: Heavyweight
Theme Song: “Gin N Juice” by Snoop Dogg
Finishing Move: Royal Flush (Samoan Drop)
The Harlem Gangsta, Adrian Christopher Edison (ACE) is the thug in the know-how. He brings to the ring a smooth, smash-mouth, brawling style with flash and flair unmatched on the roster. His ego is high and his role on the roster as “Cocky Gangsta” is cemented with his bandanas, New Era hat and baggy jeans that he wears to the ring. His charisma and ability to get the fans involved as well as his straight up “pimping” and verbal abuse makes him one of the more popular fighters on the roster.
Adrian Baird (HEEL)
From: Merchant City, Glasgow
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “TV Crimes” by Black Sabbath
Finishing Move: “Ibrox Brainbuster” (Slingshot Brainbuster)
The Glaswegian Pitbull Adrian Baird is a Scottish born foul-mouthed alcoholic sociopath who will punch, kick and stomp your way into a coma. Growing up on the tough streets of the murder capital of Europe, Glasgow is a city racked by a religious war between the Protestants and Catholics. A war which Adrian Baird is apathetic towards as he does not believe in God but when push comes to shove is on the side of Protestants as he supports the Glasgow Rangers Football Club proudly usually wearing their t-shirts to the ring. His support is strong that even his finisher is named after the stadium at which the Rangers play.
Hotaru & Minaru (HEEL)
From: Hokkaido, Japan
Weight Class: Lightweights
Theme Song: “Streets of Hong Kong” by Jesper Kyd
Finishing Move: Armed Response (Manhattan Drop/Big Boot Combination)
The tag team collectively known as “The Rokkaku Peacekeeper Force” are an elite pair of identical masked soldiers who's role is specifically to enforce the will of Gubayama Rokkaku where necessary. Dressed in white trench-coats with long black trousers, white leather strap boots, a black pullover balaclava and white helmets with the Japanese Red Sun logo on the front, they have only two named members (both their names are inscribed on the backs of their coats) but there are many more members of this private security force and often when pursuing tag titles they like to engage in contests of lumberjack matches where other Peacekeepers who look identical to them surround the ring and attack anyone who needs it.
“Bruiser” John Daniels (NEUTRAL)
From: Victoria, Texas
Weight Class: Heavyweight
Theme Song: “The Race” by Yello
Finishing Move: The Alamo (Diamond Cutter)
Your classic Texan brawler, “Bruiser” John Daniels is a man who needs no introduction. He generally tends to get on well with the fans, often interacting with the crowd in matches and being popular for his bar room brawl style. He smashes and pounds his way through the competition and goes for a beer afterwards. He's also quite the lady chaser and though he usually likes the buxom blonde hair, blue eyed All-American beauty queens he's famously enamoured with “Venom” Marley Quinn for reasons he can't describe other than “Raw, unadulterated, Texan man-lust”, a crush which is not requited.
Scott Michaels (FACE)
From: New York City
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “All My Life” by The Foo Fighters
Finishing Move: Headhunter (Knockout Right Hand)
The tough as nails New Yorker Scott Michaels is a notorious underground street fighter and well known badass. Bringing together a mixture of parkour training, gymnastics and amateur boxing he is quick on his feet and even quicker with the knockout hands as he mixes a slug-fest brawling offence with death-defying feats of athleticism and acrobatics. He is the strong but silent type and is a fan favourite with the female fans due to his natural good looks but modest nature. He is one half of “The Michaels Brothers Family Band” with his brother, Kenny Michaels.
Vladimir Urulenko (HEEL)
From: St. Petersberg, Russia
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Red Army Theme”
Finishing Move: Heatseeker (Missile Dropkick)
The Russian for the Pushin', Vladimir Urulenko isn't your usual big, burly unintelligent Eastern European monster but is just a regular Russian guy trying to make his break in the USA. A little ignorant to American culture (he once mistook a vibrator for a coffee stirrer) he is a heel because of his violent nature and his backstage attacks as well as his cheating in the ring. However he usually gets a good reaction from the fans due to his comedic antics.
LOWER MIDCARDAlyssa Shardani (FACE)
From: Las Vegas, Nevada
Weight Class: Featherweight
Theme Song: “I Get Off” by Halestorm
Finishing Move: Red Cyclone (Hurricanrana into some kind of pin)
The glamorous redhead is a young, agile competitor and a second generation wrestler. Who's her parent wrestler you ask? Well, that's easy. The boss of NSW, Danny Mainer is her father and was taught everything she knows by the former world champion. As a result her in-ring work will resemble Mainer's rather closely especially in his younger days. However, she has demanded she doesn't want to use her family to get to the top and instead wants to earn her dues by defeating everyone on the roster.
Aza Khalida (FACE)
From: Dubai
Weight Class: Lightweight
Theme Song: “Arab Money” by Busta Rhymes
Finishing Move: Thunder Over Dubai (Shooting Star Press)
Another wrestling convention breaker in that Aza Khalida is an Arab NOT universally hated by the fans and is not Anti-American. Instead he embraces the American party scene and although is a Muslim is not hardline as he enjoys the occasional alcoholic beverage and loves to party with women. He also is generally a crowd pleaser with his rapid fire high-flying style. Most of all though, the Dubai Playboy is a millionaire and loves to flash the glitz and glamour for all to see.
Jake Cheng (HEEL)
From: Hong Kong
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Enter the Dragon Theme” by Lalo Schifrin
Finishing Move: Bicycle Kick
Another of Mr. Rokkaku's hired hands, Jake Cheng is the leader of the thugs Rokkaku uses to do his dirty work that aren't The Rokkaku Peacekeeper Force. Although he's strong and fast he's not exactly the toughest man alive making him something of a glass cannon. It is for this reason he is so low down on the card. However he does command a small army of Chinese thugs to assist him when he needs to (token vest wearing thugs like in Kung Fu movies) who can aid him by giving him the numbers advantage.
Kenny Michaels (FACE)
From: Asbury Park, New Jersey
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Sexy And I Know It” by LMFAO
Finishing Move: New York Hangover (Blue Thunder Bomb)
The louder, cockier little brother of Scott Michaels, Kenny is less gifted in the ring but has twice the ego much to the chagrin of his brother. The two form “The Michaels Brothers Family Band” (Kenny chose the name) and have some success as tag team competitors but Scott, always the brooding lone wolf prefers to go at it alone. Kenny himself is a brawler and a capable one at that but often spends too much time flirting with the crowd and gets distracted.
“The Venom” Marley Quinn (HEEL)
From: Reno, Nevada
Weight Class: Featherweight
Theme Song: “Poison” by Alice Cooper
Finishing Move: Cobra Bite (Leg Lariat)
The Gothic Scream Queen of NSW is a capable high-flier and vicious, catty, bitchy in-ring fighter frequently utilising hair pulling and clawing to really put the boot into her adversaries. She also loves to bite her opponents more than anything. She is the target of the affections of one John Daniels but persistently shrugs off the advances of the big Texan as “Cowboys are too mainstream” for her liking. She is an unashamed cheat and loves to get hardcore bringing whatever weapons she can find (including her signature zebra print handcuffs) to the ring.
Spike Lambert (HEEL)
From: Temecula, California
Weight Class: Lightweight
Theme Song: “Their Law” by The Prodigy
Finishing Move: Lethal Injection (Acid Drop)
The slightly bewildered stoned younger brother of Ross Lambert, he is nowhere near as capable in the ring as big brother but can still make a pretty good go at it even if he's not as big or as strong as the other guys. He doesn't compete very often and when he does he usually ends up losing, however he is far more useful as an assistant to Ross's master plans and makes a great distraction as well as procurement for any “heavy artillery” that the Demolition Man may use.
OPENERAnthony Kage (FACE)
From: Langley, Virginia
Weight Class: Lightweight
Theme Song: “Longview” by Green Day
Finishing Move: Atom Smasher (Triple H Knee Facebuster into Double Leg Roll-Up Pin)
The 18 year old rookie fresh out of wrestling school from Langley, Virginia, Anthony Kage is as green as a salad but eager and hungry to compete but has absolutely no personality to speak of whatsoever so he's fairly bland, modest and nice about it. Trained at the Danny Mainer Wrestling Arts Institute, he relies largely on quick fast paced technical wrestling and major comebacks after taking a beating before hitting a sneaky Atom Smasher out of nowhere to get a surprise victory.
“Young Money” Benjamin King (HEEL)
From: Las Vegas, Nevada
Weight Class: Middleweight
Theme Song: “Can't Tell Me Nothing” by Kanye West
Finishing Move: Mo' Money Mo' Problems (Sitout Facebuster)
“
Bitches and Get Money” is the motto of the cocky, nineteen year old Benjamin King who barely got into wrestling school before he started competing on the big leagues due to his immense athleticism and talent. With an amateur boxing background and a mainstay on his college wrestling team while doing a Marketing major, he dropped out to become a professional wrestler seeking the fame and fortune but without having had the chance to prove himself he's still at the bottom of the card.
Dirk Matheson (HEEL)
From: Venice Beach, California
Weight Class: Heavyweight
Theme Song: “Oh Yeah” by Yello
Finishing Move: Jacked Up Tanner (Sideslam Backbreaker)
When a man's in-ring attire consists largely of speedo's and baby oil, you know that Dirk Matheson is a man that nobody
really wants to step into the ring with. Coming to the ring assisted by his two beautiful “bikini babes”, he admittedly has one of the best bodies in the company as a body builder but has a poor Win/Loss record due to limited intelligence, temper troubles, excessive self-worship and unsurprisingly? Baby oil which causes him to slip and have injuries. If someone could channel his incredible power and strength and reign his ego in he'd be one of the most dominant competitors on the circuit but until then “The Beach Bod” Dirk Matheson sadly will remain at the bottom of the card.
El Chombo (FACE)
From: An Unspecified South American Country
Weight Class: Heavyweight
Theme Song: “El Bombo” by Choc Quib Town
Finishing Move: Fat Splash (On the rare occasions El Chombo actually wins a match, he'll climb to the top rope, make as if he's about to do this incredible feat of acrobatics and then the power will cut. During the darkness there's the sound of a thud, at which point the lights come back on and he's covering the opponent)
El Chombo is the masked laughingstock of NSW and boy does he know it. Extremely overweight, lazy and often drunk when he goes into the ring, this colourful luchadore is the quintessential comedy character. He has an endless worship for an unknown power which he refers to as “El Presidente” and often threatens people who hassle him with the wrath of El Presidente only for him to never show up when expected. He frequently breaks into dance mid-match and is known to throw tantrums and roll around the floor screaming like a baby. He's easily scared by just about anyone, especially the female competitors and has no wrestling ability to speak of He also has his own midget companion known as “El Chimpo”, a 4'2 competitor who can just about climb the ring steps thanks to his severe vertical challenge.
The Troll (HEEL)
From: Lynnwood, Washington
Weight Class: Lightweight
Theme Song: “White 'N' Nerdy” by Weird Al
Finishing Move: Trollface.jpeg (Headbutt)
The classic punk teen nerd who thinks he's a computer hacker because he uses 4chan, The Troll is a man who simply winds up his opponents by yelling “LOL PWNED” and ultimately ends up getting a punch in the teeth for it. The Troll is skinny, has bad breath and usually comes to the ring not even wearing trunks but instead a grubby Beatles t-shirt and jeans. He is a vile human being and difficult to deal with, with some of the ringside doctors believing him to be a sufferer of some level of autism. Despite having no real offensive capability in the ring, The Troll does have a knack for taking a beating however and has kicked out of moves where perceived tougher superstars might not have, an attribute which he links to “Years of getting my head flushed down the toilet in high school”. Despite being a jerk and hated by the fans he has a bizarre obsession with Ansgard the Conqueror and constantly sings his praises, even dancing when he's around referring to him as “The Almighty TechnoViking”.
