variety is the key for me, i've gone through multiple phases were i either focused on wwe or indys but i always get sick of both at some point and switch over again, so i learned a long time ago to not limit myself and be open to everything.
In the grand sheme of things wwe will always be my favorite, most of my favorite wrestlers came from the E and there's just no other promotion that can build STARS like they do,most of the guys actually look like pro wrestlers which is a sore point in many indys and personally it turns me off when i see some average joe wearing average clothing or looking like he's some street thug, i never understood why so many seem to think it looks ok....just because your only and indy level guy and probably don't have much money still doesn't mean you shouldn't at least look like your better than that.
Bodywise too, i'm not saying everyone should be jacked up bodybuilders but at the end of the day, it's the rocks, austins, lesnars,cena's.... that stick aorund in my book, they have the star look down to perfection each in their own ways.
sure some guys may never be able to look like star and i don't want to sound discriminating but c'mon, it's not like austin or rock were born that way, they made an effort to look like they ended up looking and it adds so much more to the overall quality of not only themselves but the entire company, heck even orton looked pretty bland at first yet now he's one of the few to really stand out to me, he looks amazing, has a good build, and charisma to spare, a far cry from when he was just a pretty boy ' looks like gay model" type guy
however sometimes i get bored with the slick, clean cut wwe machine and rather watch some innovative indy guys performing moves i never see in wwe,i love roh, chikara, pwg and others.
i'm also big into lucha libre so i spend quite some time checking out cmll and aaa and even mexican indy's. i'm a sucjer for high flying and have always been enamoured with the masks/ culture behind it.
the only thing i really never got into is the traditional japanese stuff, sure i watch some noah and njpw when i hear something good went down but i just never got into the puroresu vibe. tho the language barrier is a big factor in that;drives me nuts when i watch something i can't understand a word of no matter how good the action itself is, it's hard to connect with the product & the talent when you have no clue what's their saying or why they're feuding.
i like tna too even tho it's too silly at times, i just keep watching because some of my all time favorites like angle and sting are there, and because i've seen top notch x division stuff in the past even tho that golden era has past. i think the main reason i'm drawn to tna is because for everything they do wrong, at least they look proffesional with decent production values, sometimes watching cheap indy stuff is so painfull, the cheapiness and grittyness of some sometimes really drives me away.
