Example
HardyHeftCobraMrOldSchool: It's actually "THEIR" year like everyone else spells it. Go back to school like the rest of us
We undertand what's being said. Anyone agree? Disagree?

No, it's just annoying when people cannot use proper grammar. The example in this thread isn't bad, no need to correct because you can clearly understand what is being said, but there are much worse grammar and spelling errors all over the forum.

I don't get why people care so much about other peoples spelling/grammar.

I don't get why people care so much about other peoples spelling/grammar. Because sometimes it makes posts either impossible or really hard to read.

i agree wholeheartedly. It's so annoying when people keep going on about people's spelling and grammar. honestly, it doesn't matter as long as you can tell what they are trying to say. i'd certainly say the content of their post is much more important.

If i can read it i don't care what it is spelled like. If you use their instead of there its fine with me i can make it out. I make a ton of mistakes with my grammer but do the best i can. I am not writing a novel or anything so why bother.

I don't understand why people expect great grammar on the internet of all places. I also find it hilarious when people try and correct someone and they type "learn how to right."

I hate when people throw out the excuse of, "well, I'm not in school so it doesn't matter." Honestly, it does matter. The way you "carry" yourself, even on a message board leaves an impression in the mind of any other person you are interacting with. If you write coherently, people are more inclined to take what you are saying seriously. On the flip side, if you use a multitude of misspellings and incorrect punctuation it DOES make you look less intelligent. I'm sorry, but that's the honest truth. Heck, if you want to be taken less seriously that is fine, have at it... --To the person above me, I don't "expect great grammar" on the internet, at least not if someone is trolling... but from people that are attempting to have somewhat substantial conversations? Yeah, I shouldn't feel like I have to decipher a post.

Not really, most posts on here make sense to a point, anyway. So I don't see the big deal if it's just a spelling error or the incorrect "their" or whatever.

I just don't get why people can't use proper grammar. It's not that hard. I agree with AdamBomb, spelling and grammar DO, in fact, matter. It has something to do with how you carry yourself.

I understand if people have a problem whn typn gts lke dis, but when they start quoting people and correcting them on one little word or punctuation is unnecessary, especially in the conversations you're talking about.
