Haha he's coming back from an excursion to cmll but I'm not really familiar with him.
The Lions break collision thing is cool, Tom Lawlor debuts soon. Karl Frederick's is officially graduating from the dojo system and gets to have a character. Did his first match in the new duds on it.

How long does is take for NJPW to post new shows with English commentary? I’m finally watching a show live since they came back, but I didn’t realize it wasn’t in English live. I’ll manage watching the rest of the show, but if the turnaround is pretty quick then I’ll just wait for that in the future. It seems to be pretty quick they're only missing the semifinals for English commentary right now they already have the quarters up in english

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t kinda like it 😆

If it wasn't for COVID Naito probably would've lost the title in like ing March. COVID blessed us with the only decently long Naito world title reign we're ever gonna get.

Do they see Naito as much a draw as Andre?

My problem is essentially this is the second year in a row the title winner coming out of Wrestle Kingdom loses the belt right away.

The Gedo Special #1 is, of course, putting the title on Okada for as long as he can.

While I'm still totally over the constant ref gets knocked over spots in New Japan, I really liked that outcome for the match. Also Zack Sabre Jr's first iwgp title tonight, that was great.

I'm fine with the angle, but I've never been a fan of Evil in ring unless it's a hard hitting Openweight match. I'm giving Gedo the benefit of the doubt, but I have zero interest in the inevitable Evil vs Sanda feud.
The best part of this is that it throws the G1 completely in the air.

Agreed about Evil vs. Sanada feud. We've gotten that in enough tournaments I'm ok if we just don't do it here. It's funny, I'm excited not because I have any particular allegiance towards Evil or anything like that, but just because it creates so many different booking options going forward.

For me, it's because I think both guys are hella broing. I'm gonna be pretty deflated if Gedo is going with Evil vs Sanada in the main event at the dome.

New Japan Strong: After Lion's Break Collision, New Japan Strong is gonna be a weekly NJPW America show. I didn't listen to the actual press conference, so I'm unclear if this is just during pandemic or something they'd want to continue with after. They've started their American expansion, but I guess we'll see.
At any rate, for now it's going to be a weekly show, I think on Fridays like collision was.
Starting with a small 8 man New Japan cup tournament. Couple notable absences in TJP, Jay White and rocky Romero, who are living in the states of course. TJP was involved in the Lion's Break Collision tapings. So was Tom Lawlor who is not featured here either. From what I understand Jay will still be unable to get into Japan for quite some time without risking being unable to leave, same with Ospreay, etc. That being said I don't know that 100% so I guess we'll see. if Jay is still in Florida, I'm sure we'll see him on NJ Strong sooner rather than later.
The bracket:
A Bracket: Kenta Vs. Karl fredericks (Yes Please! Gonna be a great match. Kenta looks to be in some of the best shape of his life right now, and Karl is starting to use a gimmick after graduating from the dojo, so that's exciting. I assume excursions are just kind of off the table right now for obvious reason lol, so the procedure may be different for Karl compared to most young lions)
Jeff Cobb vs. Tanga Loa
B Bracket:
David Finlay vs. Chase Owens
Brody King vs. Tama Tonga
Personally, I'm picking Kenta over Fredericks (Though if there's gonna be a 1st round upset, I think this is the one. Fredericks and Cobb had a match to end Lion's Break Collision, so they could use this to create a quick rematch). Cobb over Loa obv. Kenta over Cobb
Finlay over Chase, Brody over Tonga, Finlay over Brody, and Kenta over Finlay to win the thing for Bullet Club.
Should be a fun tournament. I'm curious if they'll keep using some of the random talent they brought in for Lion's Break Collision.

I'll be watching the American show (which has been rad), but I think I'm gonna be taking a break from New Japan proper probably until G1. There's too much in NJPW that is not for me. It starts at the top with Evil. There's no outcome that will convince me this was worthwhile.
