The title match is night 2 of WK right? I think Ibushi will get a rematch on night 1 with White, win it, and then beat Naito night 2. Just read that Naito challenged Ibushi for both titles night one, then the winner will face Jay on night two.

Worth noting it's official now, Kota vs Naito night one winner against Jay night two. Announced in one of their press conferences

Both WTL and BoSJ are really mediocre.
Looks more and more likely I’m gonna bail post WK

Match of the Year alert!
Go watch NOAH’s Shiozaki vs Sugiura. It’s on YouTube. Go’s slaps are killer!

I'm not liking that the Heavyweight and IC Title are still defended together. Wish they'd either split the two titles or unify them

The fact that Hiromu picked the winner of the Super J cup to face at wrestle kingdom definitely limits who is winning that to Lio, ACH, or El Phantasmo

Also, G.O.D. wins the World Tag League!
Interesting choice for Hiromu to pick the winner of the Super J Cup. Wonder what happens to Taiji at Wrestle Kingdom

Super J cup was a decent show. BOSJ would obviously have been a lot better if they could have gotten a few of these guys over for it. Is what it is.

Still convinced Moxley is showing up at wrestle kingdom. Can’t convince me otherwise. Kenta is still calling him out, and doesn’t have a match announced. If Mox isn’t on AEW Wednesday I’m 100% convinced.

Hiromu vs. El Desperado was great, easily Desperado's best match of his career.

I have the rest of the month off and am looking to try get into New Japan again after many unsuccessful attempts over the last few years, where's a good place to start? The Super J Cup?

I think the question to start with is why were the last attempts unsuccessful? Was there something in njpw that kept driving you away?

I think the question to start with is why were the last attempts unsuccessful? Was there something in njpw that kept driving you away? It's really only ever come down to time restraints. I'll watch a highly rated pay-per-view of recent, enjoy it immensely and by the time I was caught up on all my other weeklies it felt like they were already half way through a new tour. I try to follow the WWE, AEW, Impact, ROH, NWA, MLW and various other indies but have recently dropped all WWE shows now that I have a major alternative. A lot more time to watch wrestling! I enjoy the idea of the tour format but always end up watching the wrong shows. Would it benefit me to watch Best of the Super Juniors before the Super J Cup? And is it worth going back and starting the 2020 Tag League as a novice fan or wait 'til the finals? It just feels like I have to watch a lot of content (almost more so than WWE at times) to keep up.

Others can probably chime in too with their own thoughts, but here's kinda how I've approached New Japan. First things first, the BOSJ and Super J Cup are relatively seperate this year, because one was filmed in America, one in Japan. It's impacted the wrestlekingdom matches, but knowledge of one isn't really necessary for the other, outside of knowing who wins BOSJ before watching Super J Cup. I thought the Super J cup was a pretty fun show with some good matches, and didn't run too long so worth checking out Second, to be honest, this years BOSJ and World Tag League were not great. Their tag division isn't exactly deep right now, so it was limited, and a lot of the good Junior heavyweights are in America. I'd say maybe check out the first and last nights where they did the combined shows, but I don't think you're gonna miss a ton skipping it and not playing catchup. In general for me, I find it impossible to keep up with all the tour shows. So many multi-man tags, and the shows happen so frequently, just too much wrestling out there. Like you I try to keep up with a fair amount of wrestling, and there's only so many hours, even without WWE. (I still kinda watch NXT, but nothing main roster) What I've done to keep up as best I can -- tour shows I tend to only watch the special singles matches or tag matches that really have strong implications. I.e. tag matches between actual tag teams. The multi-man tags are generally really well done, and offer story advancement, but it's a lot of extra content and hours for not the most payoff. Watching a few promos, etc can kinda fill that gap to know where the stories are headed. If there's a tour show with a particularly good looking card I'll check out the whole thing, but honestly I haven't found myself missing out on too much by skipping a lot of the tour content and sticking with the tournaments and major shows. Some months (G1, etc) are busier than others, and I'll usually watch the last tour show before a big event. That's just me though.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a standard tour show. Not that I would have the time to anyway, but they seem hugely irrelevant. I try to watch all the major events, as much of G1 as I can, and that’s mostly it. Maybe a few others things if something looks interesting.

I’ve never watched a tour show.
My advice is to go to a ratings place like Grappl or Cagematch and looking for the highest rated matches in chronological order.
