You know, I getting just a little sick of Mattel.
How is it that all the stores are getting new product, yet thier own website gets very limited quanities of figures.
I believe this is the number one source of the problem with distribution of these WWE figures. We should be able to buy direct form the darn people who make the toys, yet nothing can be found.
These stores are just filling up with these freaking (in every other line) Ortons, Cenas, and Mysterios (who is not even on TV) and then my stores miss out on the newest lines as soon as they drop. And those stupid Kofi Kingston and Mysterio basics have been untouched for months.
I really wish Mattel would stop stocking these cases with more Barretts and Ortons than the more popular figures like Miz, Punk and Ryder. And I dont want to hear this crap about Orton and even perhaps Cena being the best sellers. If they sell so much, why are they shelf warming everything up.
I know it does not make a big difference, and Im getting a bit off topic, but as hungry as this forum is for the newest stuff as soon as it come out, you'd think Mattel would sell direct and stop letting people get over with ridiculous prices on the internet.
Even wwe.com gets figures in (and even they price gouge) yet I cant find figures on the manufacturers website Shop smh.

I always just wonder why such a big international company doesn't ship outside the US or Canada?

I totally understand your point, I do however love the excitement of finding a HTF/Rare figure when going to a store as it feels pretty good getting it. You are right though in what you say and the prices charged online are sometimes jaw dropping!!

Mattel stated that they can't sell their own figures until after 6 weeks it hits retail shelves.
However, Mattelshop haven't even received Elite 11 yet.

Yeah, I think DM 5 hit Walmarts first but I'm just reiterating what was answered at a previous Q&A.

Even if Mattel has to wait six weeks, why have we not seen E11 or E12, E12 went retail in NOV, Legends 6 in abundant quanities. Thats a load of BS. I wonder how much Ringside pays for a case?

I think Mattel Shop can sell as soon as it gets it in stock, it doesn't seem that they wait 6 weeks but it does seem that they get the figures that don't sell as well.

I'm not saying you're wrong but I don't remember Mattel saying that. I could have missed it. It just seems strange. Who is the agreement with TRU, Target, Walmart, the WWE? Why does Hasbro sell Joes, Transformers, and Star Wars on their site? They even offer preorders. How do you determine when an item has hit retail? When one lone Walmart in Arkansas puts out a case and the rest of the country has nothing for 4 weeks?

I think the Kmart down here in Tampa was on of the first E11 retail sites in the country. I got CM Punk in early September. Then nobody else reported seeing him until two to three months later. Whay did he not go up on Mattel. Why can we not get figures from WalMart.com? TRU is always 6 months behind smh. AND Mattel knows about the distribution issues, and Bill knows and briefly addressed it, saying its out of thier control, WHY CANT THEY JUST PUT THEM ON THIER DAMN WEBSITE

Because Mattel has to ship/fill their product/orders to the retailers who already ordered/purchased it before they can put it on their site. And if they are releasing (Producing) new Basics every month & Elites (every 2 months) They are probably already onto the next wave by the time they'd be able to ship any produt to their online store.

If Walmart doesn't put the latest waves on their website, that's a choice that they make. If Toys R Us doesn't get the latest waves, that's a choice that they make. These are decisions outside of Mattel's control.

Mattel really should have a bigger online presence. They could utilize Mattelshop in order to keep their adult collectors happy and be able to make those "more obscure characters" readily available, while still short packing them to stores so that the main characters are on the pegs for the kiddies.
I think that would be a really nice gesture by Mattel to the adult collectors. I understand that Mattel is worried that characters like Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, Vickie Guerrero, and Divas in general will be poor sellers in stores. So they short pack them and make them really difficult to find. I think having those characters readily available on Mattelshop for adult collectors would be awesome.
I guarantee if Mattel put up figures of Vickie, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder on Mattelshop at retail price + shipping.....they would sell a ton.

Hell, Id pay retail plus for some, not Ringside prices tho. Still, although Mattel has to fufill orders, they still should sell em at the Shop. And even so, if retailers are buying em, why are they not in stores, like TRU, who is still on E10.

That makes more sense. So there isn't an agreement between Mattel and the retailers to keep items off their site. I guess it's Mattel's option not to have a certain amount of the production run (or increase it) set aside for Mattelshop to make their store a nice option.

They might but remember either ETC or CSC posting on the Fwoosh a year or so ago that their orders for DCUC were canceled/cut to a third because WalMart called Mattel ordering more product...So Mattel took theirs because they said the big box stores get before the Online shops. With the holidays maybe WalMart asked for more Elite 11 (they did have tons over the last month) and that's whay they never turned up on Mattel Shop?

Good memory, PJ. If I remember correctly the cut/canceled orders caused quite a storm among those that had preorders?
