[/b][/ul] Monday Night RAW began with a recap of the shocking conclusion to the previous night's New Years Revolution pay per view event. The closing moments of the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship were shown, with John Cena inching out a victory by taking the final elimination after rolling up Carlito. Then, the 'Rated R Superstar' Edge shocks the world, handing Vince McMahon his Money in the Bank briefcase, and using his instant WWE Championship match on a worn down Cena, and two Spears later, a NEW WWE Champion was crowned, Edge at the top of the WWE mountain for the first time.
The regular opening video then plays, followed by a pyrotechnics display, before Monday Night RAW, coming LIVE! from Hershey, Pennsylvania begins, with the crowd being panned over before the now former WWE Champion John Cena makes his way out to the ring, the usual 'controversial' reaction greeting him as he emerges on the stage. Heading into the ring, he grabs a microphone, smiling, saying that he acknowledges that he has lost a lot of support since he first became WWE Champion, but this won't deter him, as he knows that people pay money for their tickets and cheer whoever the hell they like. Continuing, he claims that Edge's championship victory the previous night was cheap, but says it at least matches the price Lita charges! Cena then says that if Edge was a real champion like he claims, he would make his way out here right now, and with that said, Cena demands his WWE Championship rematch right now! The crowd cheers, expecting Edge's arrival and imminent title defense, but instead a very flustered Lita emerges. She tells Cena that in case he hadn't noticed, tonight she and Edge had planned on celebrating Edge's victory with a live sex celebration tonight in the very ring in which Cena stands! Continuing on, she says that Cena may think Edge's win was 'cheap', but rather it was simply out-thinking Cena, an embodiment of ingenuity, something Cena isn't. She then refutes Cena's claim that she is 'cheap', though Cena would know what cheap is seeing as that's the only way he gets any. The argument seems to boiling over when Vince McMahon makes an appearance, shooing Lita backstage, telling Cena that he's wasted enough time on this historic broadcast arguing with Lita, and as a punishment, he'll be in action in the opening contest, facing one half of the World Tag Team Champions, Kane, right after the commercial break!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
1) John Cena def. World Tag Team Champion Kane via pinfall following an FU. The first time these two former WWE Champions have collided in one on one action, and it proved to be an explosive outing, as Cena had to battle hard in his attempt to try and topple the 'Big Red Machine'. Commentators Joey Styles and Jonathan Coachman noted that Big Show was absent from his partner's corner, noting that he is in action in the night's main event against Triple H in a street fight. Cena came out with fast and furious lefts and rights, but Kane fired right back, and used his size and strength advantage to keep Cena contained. However, a slip up late in the match when Cena managed to pull him off the top rope when he attempted his diving clothesline meant Cena managed to pull himself back into the match, and a short while later, Cena had defeated Kane following a thunderous FU!
Cena celebrated picking up the win, but only briefly as he quickly made his way backstage, looking like he had something on his mind! Elsewhere in the locker room, Chris Masters had recent tag team partner Carlito pinned up against the wall. Masters demanded an apology out of the 'Bad Apple', telling him that he didn't much appreciate the way he eliminated him in such a devious manner the previous night! Carlito quickly and nervously apologised, saying it was 'every man for himself', but that doesn't make what he did last night 'cool'. Masters lets Carlito down, and tells him to get in the zone for their match against Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels later tonight!
In the interview area, Todd Grisham is standing by with Jerry 'The King' Lawler, who is dressed in his ring gear. Lawler is asked by Grisham why he is in ring gear, to which Lawler answers that he has been challenged by Gregory Helms to a rematch tonight on RAW, an offer which he has accepted! Grisham tells his broadcast team colleague that he hopes lightning strikes twice for him tonight, with Lawler re-assuring Grisham that he doesn't have to hope - it will!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
2) Womens Championship - Trish Stratus def. Ashley via pinfall following the Chick Kick to RETAIN the title The commentary team informed that as she won the 'Bra & Panties' Battle Royal the previous night at New Years Revolution, Ashley had been named #1 Contender to the Womens Championship. She was holding her own against the champion Stratus until the slightly unhinged Mickie James made her way down to ringside, distracting Ashley for long enough to allow Stratus to beat her with the Chick Kick.
Trish immediately climbed out of the ring and began to yell at James, asking her what kind of game she was playing with her, asking her to just leave her alone! James looked on the verge of tears, looking over at Ashley in a loathsome manner, with her look almost being that of someone plotting something! In the back, the 'Showstopper' Shawn Michaels is seen taping his wrists when Vince McMahon comes in, warning 'HBK' that he needs to bring back the old mean spirit he once had tonight in his tag match tonight. Vince orders Michaels to turn on Angle tonight, and warns him that his days with WWE could be numbered if he doesn't!
In a corridor, Gregory Helms is seen looking at himself in a mirror. He places on his shades and walks down the hall, with the commentators hyping up his battle with their broadcast colleague and wrestling legend Jerry 'The King' Lawler NEXT!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
3) Gregory Helms def. Jerry 'The King' Lawler via pinfall following the Shining Wizard. A bit of a shock result here as many were expecting Lawler to once again come out on top, but alas this was not the case. The veteran battled hard against the over-confident young superstar who was once known as The Hurricane, and almost seemed like he was going to pick up the win when he set up for his signature Piledriver, but Helms escaped the attempt. Later, Lawler again looked to take the win, this time with his fist drop, but Helms rolled away, and quickly got to his feet and nailed the Shining Wizard to collect the win over the veteran Lawler.
Lawler lie beaten on the mat, but Helms wasn't through. Grabbing a microphone, he yells into it that Lawler shouldn't have embarrassed him last night and says now, he's going to pay for what he did. Helms climbs out of the ring, and grabs a steel chair, whacking Lawler in the face as he gets to his knees, before targeting the left arm of Lawler, 'The King' screaming out in pain but nobody coming to assist him. Helms eventually walks away, but the damage is done, with Lawler's fellow commentators calling for assistance for the injured commentator.
Backstage, Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels are seen standing together in the locker room. Angle warns Michaels that he's watching his back tonight as he knows that they don't get on, and doesn't want anything to go down. Michaels assures him that nothing of the sorts will happen, with Angle saying that he's glad to hear Michaels respects one of his three I's, integrity. Michaels gives an empty stare and fumbles over his response, as Joey Styles questions what he will do!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Two video packages play as RAW returns from commercials, the first being a "Don't Try This At Home" video, and the second being a hype video informing us that the 'One of a Kind' Rob Van Dam will once again be 'Mr. Pay Per View' when he returns in a few weeks time at the Royal Rumble!
4) Carlito & Chris Masters def. Kurt Angle & Shawn Michaels via pinfall after Carlito hit the Backcracker on Angle. An excellent showing for these two future prospects against two multi-time World Champions. Michaels and Angle were determined not to lose, but a miscommunication between the two former rivals led to their demise, as whilst legal man Angle was jawing with Michaels, Carlito snuck up from behind, nailing the Backcracker on the '96 Gold Medalist, before covering him for the win!
As a weary Angle got to his feet and realised what had transpired, he began to yell at Shawn Michaels, blaming him for the loss the two had suffered. Michaels asked Angle to calm down, but he refused, leading 'HBK' to lose his cool and nail Angle with Sweet Chin Music! Michaels walked away, leaving Angle out in the ring!
In the interview area, Todd Grisham is standing by Shelton Benjamin and his Momma. Momma Benjamin requests the time to speak, saying she is on a crusade to rid Monday Night Raw of anymore of these inappropriately behaved superstars like Viscera before she can guide her Son Shelton back to the top. Then, Val Venis walks up, saying hello to Momma Benjamin, with Momma Benjamin being perturbed by Venis' advances, asking Venis what he does for a living, with Venis responding that he's an actor, Venis following this up by reeling off some less than recognised titles to a woman like Momma Benjamin! Momma Benjamin says she feels faint after hearing Venis' list, and demands Shelton get her a bottle of water!
Then we see a split screen, with World Tag Team Champion Big Show on one side, and Triple H on the other. These two will collide in a street fight main event, NEXT!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
A commercial airs for the Royal Rumble, reminding viewers to order through their Pay Per View provider now!
5) Triple H def. World Tag Team Champion The Big Show in a Street Fight following a Pedigree onto the stairs. This war spilled over two parts, with a commercial break in the middle, but the flow of the contest was tremendous. The crowd was baying for some blood, and while they didn't get it, they got just as good a deal. Show came out strong, controlling the early going, but Triple H reminded us all why he was the 'Cerebral Assassin' as he had a game plan, taking out Show's injured hand! After targeting Show's hand with some mean Sledgehammer shots, it looked as if Show was out of the match, with Triple H taking conrtol of the "World's Largest Athlete", however, Show came back, mounting a comeback that almost led to a Chokeslam onto the stairs, but the injured hand gave out, and with an opening available, Triple H kicked Show and locked him in position for a brain rattling Pedigree onto the stairs that sealed the three.
In the locker room, we see Shawn Michaels throwing things about in anger, 'HBK' seeming overwhelmed by the demands of Mr. McMahon. The devil himself, McMahon, then walked in, and congratulated Michaels for recapturing his old spirit, telling him his job is safe... FOR NOW! Then, John Cena walks in, HBK walking out, with the former WWE Champion Cena demanding that McMahon call off the Live Sex Celebration now! McMahon says WWE have always been a company of firsts, and this is no different, warning Cena that the repercussions of even thinking about ruining this will be severe!
Lita is then seen, dressed seductively, as the commentators inform us that for the first time ever, Live Sex on Monday Night RAW is up NEXT!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
The theme of the NEW WWE Champion Edge rings out through the arena, as Edge and his girlfriend Lita make their way out onto the stage. The two make their way down to the ring, where a bed is dressed romantically, with rose petals and love hearts. Lita lies on the bed, as Edge grabs a microphone, saying that before we get on with the 'business at hand', he wants to show everybody something. He then plays a video package, which is almost the opposite of what you'd expect, seemingly pandering to the fans, and highlighting all of Edge's greatest moments thus far, and when the video ends, Edge blasts the fans, telling them they could've joined him on this journey, but they chose not too! The fans boo, before Edge says he's had enough of talking, and turns his attention to Lita.
The two begin to kiss passionately, before undressing each other and climbing under the bedsheets. They then continue to kiss, with Edge removing Lita's underwear to the delight of the (male) fans in attendance! It looks like the fornication is going to begin, but the theme of the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair rings out, and he interrupts! He says he's seen some things in his time, but nothing as bad as this, saying that Edge is 'dead in bed'! Edge takes exception to Flair's comments, getting out of the ring and blindsiding him, opening up the cut he made last night! He grabs two steel chairs, and places one under the head of Flair, with it looking like Flair is going to recieve a con-chair-to, but John Cena charges down to the ring, taking the fight to Edge who retreats into the ring! Cena follows him, with Edge slipping through the other side, grabbing his WWE Championship, getting out the dodge! Cena follows him whilst in the ring, as Edge backs up the ramp, but Cena is still enraged, quickly spotting Lita! Edge is conflicted, not wanting to get into it with Cena but wanting to help Lita, but his indecisiveness leads to an impatient Cena hoisting up Lita, now wearing Edge's t-shirt, and then laying her out with a massive FU onto the bed! Edge looks on in horror, as Lita is out cold, Cena gesturing that he wants his title back as medics attend to Flair, and this edition of Monday Night RAW comes to a close!

WWE RAW: Monday 9th January 2006...I apologise for my stiffness, it's been a few months since I last replied to a diary. I'm not really a fan of the layout if I'm honest. Just doesn't look too appealing, and nothing special in my eyes. Nice promo to kick off the show though, with John Cena making his way out and challenging Edge to a WWE Championship here and now. Edge will end up defending the title against Cena in the rematch at the Royal Rumble I imagine. I just hope Edge gets a bit longer a run with the title. Mr McMahon interrupting their exchange was nice, I guess it's fine for the Live Sex Celebration to still be taking place, good punishment for Cena; if only Kane was a heel. Awkward opening contest as Kane is also a face. You're in dire need of strong heels on the RAW brand. Cena was obviously going to win to regain momentum after last night. This segment did little to nothing for the World Tag Team Champion though. Chris Masters pinning Carlito up against a wall shows off some personality; personality that Masters was never given chance to display in this run with the company. Nice to see, but I hope this isn't a hint that they're disbanding. Trish Stratus retaining the WWE Womens Championship was an obvious one, a knockout for Ashley though after winning that Bra and Panties Gauntlet last night. I hope you manage to keep Trish and Mickie James going until WrestleMania 22 though; don't rush the feud is all I'm gonna say. Ah yes, the dropped Gregory Helms and Jerry Lawler feud. Not sure about why this had to occur though; after the two fought at New Year's Revolution the previous night, I'd have thought Helms would have been able to go onto better things. Helms with a win over Lawler was nice to see though, I hope to see a rubber match before this rivalry ends. They need a deciding rubber match after all. Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle teaming up was a strange decision since Angle was still being managed by Daivari and a heel. Carlito and Chris Masters must have got a huge rub off of this though. Didn't like how Angle and HBK were portrayed after the match though. Feud ending Street Fight for Triple H and Big Show is great, Hunter with the win was the better decision. I just don't like how Kane and Big Show both lost, were not involved with one another, and seem to have nothing planned for them yet. Also, wish we had a backstage follow up on the Mickie James/Trish Stratus situation. McMahon having Michaels doing his bidding reminds me of what is going on now. Edge and Lita doing a banging sh*g was good, Ric Flair interrupting just to get laid out made Flair look weak, but I know for a fact that this won't be the end of their feud. Cena with the save to end the show was fine. For the main part this episode was a lot like real life. I liked the show, you should work some on the layout though.

Nice win for Trish, however I think you should've gave her a big celebration for retaining the title for a year. I think the one Helms/Lawler match was enough. Im just not certain on a big time feud between the two. as Dan said, huge win for Masters & Carlito. Nice redux of the Live Sex Celebration. Did Litas boob pop out too?

January 13, 2006 | Philadelphia, PA | Wachovia CenterFriday Night SmackDown! opened with a video package, set to dramatic music. The video showed the close of last week's main event, which pitted MNM against Batista and Rey Mysterio in a steel cage match for MNM's WWE Tag Team Championships. Mark Henry again appeared, displaying his inhuman strength, ripping off the door of the steel cage to get to the World Heavyweight Champion Batista, before attacking him and his partner Mysterio with the door, Nitro crawling to the cover, MNM hanging onto the SmackDown!'s tag team gold! Then, the opening video package of SmackDown!, followed by pyrotechnics, this week's SmackDown! kicking off! Michael Cole and Tazz's voices welcome us to the show, hyping up the finale of the 'Best of 7' series for the WWE United States Championship between Chris Benoit and Booker T's chosen substitute Randy Orton, and a special edition of Piper's Pit, with his guest being SmackDown!'s creature of the night, The Boogeyman! Then, the theme of Batista rings out, the Animal's theme getting a huge reaction from the crowd. The World Heavyweight Champion, the 'Animal' Batista making his way out to the ring, dressed up to the nines, accompanied by SmackDown! general manager Theodore Long. The World Heavyweight Champion wasn't making many of his signature gestures, in fact looking quite downtrodden and sombre as he climbed into the ring, carefully raising the World Heavyweight Championship. Batista grabbed a microphone, and began to speak, saying how since Wrestlemania 21, he has stood tall at the top of the WWE as the World Heavyweight Champion. He's took on all comers, all shapes, all sizes, all styles, all varieties of superstars like The Big Show, JBL, Triple H, and Eddie Guerrero (who's name gets a roar out of the crowd). Batista admits he had doubts about whether he could do it, but he gained the confidence, the fans backed him, and he's had one of hell of a ride, but now, prematurely, its over. The fans boo, as Batista begins to explain. Batista informs the fans that at a live event over the weekend in a match against Mark Henry, he was injured. He says that he has worked through injuries before, such as a back injury for the last two months, but this is much more serious. He suffered a torn right triceps, which will require surgery as soon as possible, and will keep him out of action for an indefinite period of time, and as a result of this, he must give up his World Heavyweight Championship. The crowd boos, unhappy at this news. Welling up behind his shades, Batista says he is sorry that he has to go, but he WILL be back for two things - first, his World Heavyweight Championship, and second, to return the favour to Mark Henry! Batista then hands over the World Heavyweight Championship, and leaves the ring, the fans giving the 'Animal' a huge ovation as he leaves, eagerly awaiting his comeback! COMMERCIAL BREAKSmackDown! returns with a video showing what happened in the commercial break, the now former World Heavyweight Champion Batista leaving the arena, with many officials, staff and superstars such as Arn Anderson, Jimmy Korderas, Josh Matthews and Rey Mysterio, whom Batista says can be a World Champion if he puts his mind to it, wishing Batista the best of luck in his recovery. Batista then leaves the arena, without the World Heavyweight Championship as the camera returns to the arena. In the ring, SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long is stood with the World Heavyweight Championship in hand. He says that whilst the injury to Batista is a terrible misfortune to befall a good Champion, it gives someone else the chance to shine, but before he can continue, Mark Henry's theme plays, and the man responsible for injuring the former World Heavyweight Champion Batista makes his way out to the ring. Henry says with the 'Animal' injured and the title vacant, its only right that the 'silverback' of SmackDown!, Mark Henry, be awarded the championship for being responsible for Batista being unable to defend his championship! Long says that this is not the case, as nobody is awarded championships on SmackDown! without earning them, and tonight, there will be a gauntlet match for the World Heavyweight Championship, with the participants being Mark Henry, John Bradshaw Layfield, Bobby Lashley, and Rey Mysterio! The crowd pops, as Henry snarls at Long, SmackDown!'s General Manager walking away having announced the future of the World Heavyweight Championship! The camera slides over to the commentary desk, where Michael Cole and Tazz excitedly talk about the main event, and hype up that it isn't the only title match this evening, as up next we have finale of the 'Best of 7' series for the United States Championship, and with the scores tied at 3-3, after Chris Benoit's remarkable comeback from 3-0 down, its all on the line between the 'Rabid Wolverine' and the 'Legend Killer'. A video package reminding us of the series then plays. In the back, Randy Orton is seen chasing after Theodore Long, with Orton begging Long to put off the United States Championship match till next week. Long refuses, saying he promised these fans they would see a United States Champion crowned tonight! Orton says he needs a spot in that gauntlet, AND he needs to be fresh if he is going to win the gauntlet, and tries to make the GM see his reasoning, reminding Long he was the youngest World Heavyweight Champion ever. Long concedes that Orton has a point about being a deserving candidate a spot in the gauntlet, putting him in the match, but says he must also compete in the United States Championship match, telling him it is imperative that he keeps his promise to Booker T! Randy Orton is furious at Long's refusal to cancel the match, as Cole hypes the United States Championship contest up NEXT! COMMERCIAL BREAK1) Randy Orton def. Chris Benoit to WIN the United States Championship for Booker T following an RKO (Booker wins series 4-3)What an opening contest this one turned out to be on what is an action packed edition of SmackDown!. Orton, who had Booker T and Sharmell watching on at ringside, and Benoit went at it back and forth, with a collar and elbow tie up to start leading into some fantastic exchanges of maneuvers, Benoit constantly going for submissions, Orton trying to catch Benoit off guard with his signature RKO. The contest, which spanned over two parts of the broadcast with a commercial break in the middle, came to a close after Benoit went for a baseball slide, aiming for Orton but hit Booker. Sharmell was outraged as Booker wasn't able to get back to his feet with his groin injury, and as the match progressed, Orton was taken down with the trifecta of German Suplexes, giving Benoit the chance to go for his signature Diving Headbutt. Sharmell jumped up on the apron however, holding onto Benoit's foot, Orton taking advantage and crotching Benoit, before dropping him with the RKO from the top rope! Orton followed up with a pin, grabbing the victory and championship for Booker T!The referee went to the outside to help Booker T to his feet, as Orton stood in the ring with Booker's United States Championship, Booker T climbing into the ring with his wife Sharmell assisting him, Orton handing over the United States Championship to Booker, mouthing that he 'owes him', the 'Legend Killer' walking away looking awfully smug, as Booker and Sharmell dance in the ring with glee, as Booker had claimed the championship in unexpected circumstances! In the back, Melina is stood with Mark Henry, counting cash. She hands over a handful of notes, saying that the money was what she was paying lawyers for the sexual harassment case against Batista, but Henry got some more than adequate payback for her instead. Melina lays a kiss on Henry, Henry saying that he's done what Melina wanted him to do, he's stepping out on his own, and his first target is winning the World Heavyweight Championship tonight. In a hallway, we see WWE Hall of Famer 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper walking towards the ring, bumping into the image consultant of JBL, Jillian Hall, who flirts awkwardly with Piper, Piper pointing that she has something on her face, not realising that its her mole! Hall runs off, upset by Piper's slip up, Piper shaking his head and continuing to the ring, Piper's Pit is up next and his guest? SmackDown!'s night crawler The Boogeyman! COMMERCIAL BREAKPiper's Pit was set up in the ring as SmackDown! returned, before the Hall of Fame host 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper emerged to a huge pop from the crowd, all wishing him well on this rare SmackDown! appearance. He gets into the ring, and begins to introduce his scheduled guest, The Boogeyman, but Piper is interrupted by the theme song of JBL, who walks out with Jillian Hall. Hall has a microphone in her hands, and walks down to the ring, saying that Piper should have requested a different guest, saying that the ratings would be through the roof if John Bradshaw Layfield, FOX news business analyst, longest reigning WWE Champion in SmackDown! history, and number one star on Friday Night SmackDown! had appeared on the iconic talk show, Piper's Pit. Piper says that while The Boogeyman wasn't his first choice of guest, he sure as hell has more interest in interviewing him than he does JBL! JBL cuts in, demanding to know how Piper has the gall to stand there and say that, saying he has to acknowledge the presence of the Wrestling God, the same wrestling God whose achievements put the not so 'Rowdy' anymore Roddy Piper in the shade! Piper quietens down, JBL looking smug, reminding Piper that he NEVER won a World Championship, and the only thing kids know him for his hitting someone with a coconut! Continuing, he says every fan will remember JBL as the greatest WWE Champion of all time, and the longest reigning champion in over a decade. Piper says that maybe JBL is right, JBL smiling and telling Piper he knows he is right. However, Piper says that it was a big maybe, and says he wants kids of today to remember him for this; punching out John Bradshaw Layfield! Piper then plants a huge right on JBL, dropping the former WWE Champion, as The Boogeyman's terrifying theme music rings out, and the creature from the 'bottomless pit' emerges through a cloud of smoke and eerie red lighting, smashing a clock on his head as he wields a strange staff! Boogeyman climbs in the ring, and feeds an unconcious JBL worms, as Jillian Hall screams, trying to run away, but Boogeyman grabs her by the legs, pulls her out of the ring, and feeds her some worms too, before dragging her under the ring! Piper laughs at the entire ordeal, shaking his head before walking backstage! As JBL begins to come around, realising what has happened, the live feed fades out, and a video plays, hyping the debut of the man who loves to fight, Finlay, next week on SmackDown! COMMERCIAL BREAKBackstage, Matt Hardy is seen talking to Theodore Long, Hardy pleading with Long to give him the chance to be in the World Heavyweight Championship gauntlet tonight! Long says that he would love for Hardy to compete in the gauntlet, but says he just can't due to not being cleared to compete after last week's Falls Count Anywhere match. Long however, promises Matt that whoever wins the championship this week will have to defend the championship against Matt Hardy when he is cleared to compete, next week on SmackDown! Hardy thanks Long for the opportunity, walking away happy with the announcement Long has made. 2) WWE Tag Team Champions MNM & Cruiserweight Champion Kid Kash def. The MexicoolsA fantastic contest, albeit one that was recieved as filler, as SmackDown!'s tag team and cruiserweight division champions did battle with the exciting trio of lucha libre stars, The Mexicools. Neither side took a distinct advantage until the close of the contest, where a failed 450 Splash attempt by 'The Juice' meant that Kid Kash was able to quickly pull the former Cruiserweight Champion to his feet and nail him with the Dead Level brainbuster for a quick three count. In the office of Theodore Long, the phone rings, with Long picking up the phone. Long sounds intrigued by the caller, saying that he would like his involvement with SmackDown! very much, granting him a request which we do not hear! COMMERCIAL BREAKThe RAW rebound plays, reminding us how Ric Flair ruined Edge's Live Sex Celebration with Lita on Monday night, Edge responding with a savage attack on the Intercontinental Championship, only for John Cena to save Flair and follow it up with an FU to Lita, as Edge stood outside, seemingly out of his depth with an angered John Cena breathing down his neck! JBL was seen angrily talking at SmackDown! GM Theodore Long. JBL says that he was embarrassed by Piper, AND Jillian was kidnapped by that The Boogeyman! Long tells him to calm down, reminding him he has a World title match later tonight, saying he will iron out the issues with The Boogeyman next week! JBL nods his head, telling Teddy he better, JBL saying he better go and prepare for tonight, saying when he wins tonight, that'll be two more world championships he's had than Piper! Mark Henry is seen being interviewed by a visibly scared Josh Matthews, with Mark Henry snatching the microphone. Henry says now that the 'Animal' is gone, the 'Silverback' will now reign supreme as the World Heavyweight Champion in the SmackDown! jungle! Rey Mysterio is seen pacing a corridor, telling himself 'you can do this Rey, believe', slapping his face and strapping up his mask, the commentators informing us the World Heavyweight Championship Battle Royal is up NEXT! COMMERCIAL BREAK3) Mark Henry wins the Gauntlet match for the World Heavyweight Championship...An exciting close to an eventful night on SmackDown!, as the first two out for the Gauntlet were John Bradshaw Layfield, without his seemingly kidnapped image consultant Jillian Hall, followed by the fast (and undefeated) rising star, Bobby Lashley. It started out as a battle of strikes between the rough and tumble New Yorker and the former NAIA National Wrestling Champion Lashley, with Lashley shockingly getting the better of the former WWE Champion Layfield. Layfield rolled outside for a breather, but two hands grabbed his leg from under the ring, then a head poked itself out, The Boogeyman revealing himself to a pop from the crowd, SmackDown!'s creature of the night trying to pull Layfield under the ring, the struggle continuing up until the referee counted 10, at which point Boogeyman suddenly dissapeared! JBL protested, but the referee was having none of it, the crowd seemingly booing the decision, but the camera returned to the ring where the 'Legend Killer' Randy Orton was stood behind Lashley, this being the cause for the boos, Orton turning him round and dropping him with an RKO, the referee ringing the bell and counting the fall! Already, the gauntlet was onto its fourth entrant, with little less than three minutes on the clock, and the high flying Rey Mysterio was next out, Mysterio wasting little time going to work on Orton. Orton and Mysterio battled back and forth for a few minutes, and Orton seemed to be getting the better of Mysterio, but Mysterio escaped the gutwrench neckbreaker attempt, drop kicking Orton into the middle rope and nailing the 619! Mysterio followed with hurricanrana pin maneuver, beating Orton! Mysterio had managed to survive to the last entrant, but Orton was enraged, turning Mysterio around and dropping him with an RKO, angry that he wasn't going to win the World Heavyweight Championship. He walked backstage, passing the final entrant, the self proclaimed 'Silverback' of SmackDown!, Mark Henry, as he did. With Mysterio down from the RKO, he was easy pickings for Henry, who lifted him into the air, and dropped him with with a huge falling powerslam, pinning him to win the Gauntlet!Henry throws his fists in the air, grinning menacingly as the referee is about to hand him the World Heavyweight Championship, but Theodore Long emerges, telling the referee to hold on, saying the Gauntlet isn't over yet, as there is ONE MORE ENTRANT! The theme of Kurt Angle then plays, Angle making his way out with Daivari, the crowd not knowing how to react! Angle pounded down to the ring, sliding straight in and going after Henry! ... 3 [cont.] ) Kurt Angle def. Mark Henry to win the Gauntlet match for the World Heavyweight Championship!Angle flew into the ring, tackling one of Henry's tree trunk like legs, going straight after one wanting to lock in his signature Ankle Lock, stomping away at the limb. Eventually, Angle went for the lock, but Henry powered out, damage done however! The 'Silverback' was unsteady on his feet! Angle grabbed a chair from the outside and pulled it into the ring, the referee taking it from his hands, Angle hitting a low blow on Henry as the referee's back was turned! Henry fell to one knee, the weak leg now prone, and with Henry center of the ring, Angle locked in the grapevine Ankle Lock, forcing Henry to try and escape, but one leg didn't have enough to get Angle to release the hold! Henry clawed to the bottom rope, Angle pulling him away again somehow, the center of the ring now the site of a struggle unseen before, two Olympians battling for the World Heavyweight Championship! Angle eventually tired, releasing the hold, and getting back to his feet. He pushed Henry, trying to roll him out of the ring, eventually succeeding, with the giant Henry being forced to the outside, Henry further injuring his leg when he fell to the outside! Henry held his leg, trying to get into the ring, but he couldn't beat the 10 count, meaning Henry loses the match, Kurt Angle crowned the NEW World Heavyweight Champion! Angle threw his arms into the air, quickly rolling out of the ring, the World Heavyweight Championship handed to him by a referee, Angle high tailing it with his newly won gold. Henry eventually got to his feet, but Daivari was still ringside, and he felt the full brunt of some 'Silverback' wrath, with Henry grabbing Daivari from a kneeling position and throwing him into the crowd barrier, Daivari laying out cold next to Henry, Henry seething as the broadcast comes to a close! © world wrestling entertainment mmvi
ooc: really don't like this show, the main intention was to get the belt on Angle and move on really. ignore it!

Batista relinquishing the championship was something I didn't like back then with his injury, but I'm actually rather excited to see him coming back and destroying Henry eventually unlike what happened in reality. Nice to see Booker getting the United States title with Orton being left in the dust out of it, wouldn't be surpised if you sent him face to take out Booker. Interesting segment on Piper's Pit, clearly knowing where it would be going with Boogeyman and JBL. Matt Hardy getting a title shot next week, huh? I'm a little meh on it, but we'll see where it goes - if anywhere. MNM and Kid Kash over The Mexicools is fine. A good idea for a main event, but I feel it was pretty weakly done. All of the victories came in poor fashion except for Mysterio over Orton, and it really didn't come off clean. Glad to see you go down the Kurt Angle route, and him winning the World Heavyweight Title - despite it being by count out - I'm pleased with. Alright show.

F'N kickass way to start of the diary, Edge cashing in was such a great moment and hoping you give Edge an epic first reign along with a brilliant Cena feud. Good opening segment, and no Edge was a good idea. Cena winning was the obvious call. The seeds being planted for a Masters/Carlito break is good, can see them breaking up and it will do good for both careers. The Lawler angle was strange. Liking the tension between Angle and HBK. Tag match could have gone either way. Momma Benjamin lol. Decent ending to Raw but I can't see a FU onto the bed being a move that knocks someone unconcious. Smackdown seems like a mixed bag of treats, Henry ughh, Best of 7 series yeh, Pipers pit great but with boogey man boo. Tista injured opens up a great opitunity to give someone good the belt. Hopefully a first timer. Meh at the gauntlet being the decider for the new champ. Good end of the series match, could have main evented if you didn't have the title match. Great JBL promo don't know what its building to though, surley not Piper/JBL. Fun six man tag. Good ending, didn't want any of those guys winning so happy Angle won. The countout keeps Henry streong but Id rather him move away from the main event area. All good so far, good kucj and keep this up.

January 16, 2006 | Raleigh, NC | Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena A recap video played to kick off RAW, highlighting how Ric Flair (and later John Cena) were the cause of the ruin of Edge's "Live Sex Celebration", Flair getting a beatdown for his troubles, and Cena later coming down, chasing Edge off. RAW then kicked off! Mr. McMahon started the night off. He said that he warned last week that anyone who wanted to ruin the "Live Sex Celebration" would suffer severe consequences! McMahon says that because he got involved in the celebration, Cena will have to earn his rematch clause back - by breaking the Masterlock in a Masterlock Challenge tonight! However, Flair is a different story - he is stripped of the Intercontinental Championship, and a new champion will be decided by a tournament that begins tonight, AND his job is on the line. If he wants to keep it, he'll have to beat the WWE Champion Edge in a tables, ladders and chairs match in the main event, tonight! The commentary team of Joey Styles and Jonathan Coachman informed the viewers that Jerry 'The King' Lawler suffered a broken left arm in the assault Gregory Helms gave out last week. Styles wishes Lawler a speedy recovery as the broadcast continues. In the parking lot, a car rolls up. The newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle steps out to a big pop from the crowd! In the divas locker room, Womens Champion Trish Stratus is talking to Mickie James. She tells Mickie that she needs to stay backstage this week when she has her match, saying her and Ashley can deal with their opponents, Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle, without her help! Trish then walks away, Mickie looking upset briefly before a cunning look breaks out on her face to the commentators concern. 1) Shelton Benjamin def. Rob Conway via T-Bone Suplex. This was the first of four matches in the first round of the Intercontinental Championship tournament. Momma Benjamin was at ringside, but did not get involved. Backstage, Triple H is seen in the office of Vince McMahon. McMahon says he needs a favour out of Triple H, 'The Game' listening intently! In the interview area, WWE Champion Edge has commandeered a camera with his girlfriend Lita, Edge saying whilst the Live Sex Celebration didn't go entirely to plan, it was the highest rated RAW segment in over a year, meaning he is the most must see Superstar in the WWE today! And tonight, he'll prove why he's must see, when he lives up to his 'Rated R' moniker in a TLC Match, and ends Ric Flair's career! Following a commercial break, Shawn Michaels was then seen in the office of Vince McMahon, McMahon saying that if Michaels doesn't keep trying to bring back his old spirit, without prompts from himself, then he could be going the same way as Ric Flair is tonight! In the Divas locker room, Ashley is seen knocked out on the floor, bleeding from the head after what looks like a vicious attack. The camera pans up, where Mickie James is stood, laughing, her hands covered in blood! 2) Chris Masters vs. John Cena in a Masterlock Challenge went to a no contest. Cena looked like he was going to break the Masterlock, when Carlito came in and spat in his face, the referee counting it as interference and calling the challenge a no-contest. However, Masters kept the Masterlock locked in, Cena passing out in the signature hold of the "Masterpiece". In the corridor leading to the 'Gorilla' position, World Tag Team Champions Kane and The Big Show are seen walking. The commentators say that the tag team champs need to bounce back after suffering high profile losses last week, commentators asking whether they will manage that next! 3) World Tag Team Champions Kane & The Big Show def. Snitsky & Tomko. The World Tag Team Champions gorilla pressed their two fellow giants after the match, sending a message to all the Royal Rumble participants! In the back, Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels are seen in the locker room staring down. Michaels congratulates Angle on his recent title win, Angle thanking him, before saying that this is his final night on Monday Nights, as he is now contracted to the SmackDown! brand! Michaels nods his head, Angle admitting that he has had his differences with Michaels, but he's one good opponent who he respects the hell out of! Michaels thanks him, Angle finishing the discussion by telling HBK to make sure of two things: number one, they have the best match they have had together yet tonight, and number two, McMahon doesn't walk all over him! Angle says he'll see HBK in the ring as the camera heads elsewhere. In the Divas locker room, their is a scream of horror as Trish enters the locker room, having found Ashley, Trish shouting for help! Mickie James comes and sits next to her, having washed her hands of Ashley's blood, saying she'll stay with her whilst she gets help, telling her she can be her tag team partner tonight if she needs one! A "Don't Try This At Home Video" plays, with the Divas tag team match following. 4) Mickie James and Womens Champion Trish Stratus def. Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson. Mickie put Candice away with a Chick Kick, asking Trish how she did after the match, Trish saying she did well whilst looking disturbed by her increasingly strange behaviour. In the back, Gregory Helms was being interviewed by Todd Grisham, Grisham asking why he was so vicious after his match with Lawler last week. Helms says he was just evening the battlefield, that Lawler only got what was coming to him, thinking he can embarrass a superstar who is the future of RAW like that and get away with it, and that if Lawler ever dares step from behind that desk again, he'll get something even worse! A video hyping the return of Rob Van Dam plays; Van Dam is set to return in two weeks time at the Royal Rumble after a year on the shelf! 5) World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle def. Shawn Michaels. Angle and Michaels put on a clinic in Angle's final outing on the red brand, but Angle came won after making Michaels submit to the Ankle Lock. The two shook hands afterwards, Michaels raising the arm of Angle! A Royal Rumble hype video played, the event available on Pay Per View from your provider, Sunday, January 29th, 2006, order now! Triple H walks into the locker room, talking to Shawn Michaels who is unwrapping his wrists. Michaels stands, stumbling as he does after the Ankle Lock earlier in the night, Triple H telling him that he's gonna have to do it from #1 all over again, because next week, Mr. McMahon has made a match where if Michaels loses, he will enter the Royal Rumble at #1, and his opponent? Triple H! World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle is seen heading to his car, walking through the car park alone when he is jumped from behind by the "Silverback" Mark Henry! Henry drops him with a Falling Powerslam on the car bonnet, the commentators in awe at the shocking attack, unaware that SmackDown! superstar Henry was at the arena tonight! Ric Flair is seen walking down a hallway with his signature robe on, the "Nature Boy" having to fight for his career, next! 6) WWE Champion Edge def. Ric Flair in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Flair looked like his career was safe as he climbed the ladder, but Lita grabbed his leg, preventing him from climbing higher, with Edge whacking the 16-time world champ in the back with a chair, falling through a table! Edge then retrieved Flair's WWE contract after climbing the ladder, Flair's WWE career over! Flair went backstage, tears streaming down his face, the illustrious career thirty year career of the "Nature Boy"now over, Edge celebrating having retired Ric Flair in his home state of North Carolina, RAW ending at this point! © world wrestling entertainment mmvi

WWE SmakDown: Friday 13th January 2006...Ah the most awkward SmackDown! in history. Batista opening up the show was acceptable, clearly here to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship. Opens up a great map for the future, a change in main event scene whilst Batista is on the shelf. It still bothers me that Batista missed WrestleMania 22. That promo followed by Theodore Long in the ring was a strange decision in my eyes, but nevermind as it was vital and necessary. I think you should have separated this with a match though, the crowd must have been tired from the promos. Can imagine that Randy Orton and Chris Benoit had a classic, should be interesting with Orton as the WWE United States Champion in this tiebreaking match. Oh, he handed over the title; I would have loved to see Orton as champ and cause conflict with Booker T and Orton instead. Again, I was saddened to hear that Booker was injured before this match. Mind you I always wished that the final match in the Best of Five Series was at the Royal Rumble instead of SmackDown!. Roddy Piper here? Woah, didn't see that coming. I suppose it fills time, but again this is the third promo we have had within the first hour. Was pretty well written though and generally promoted the John Bradshaw Layfield and Boogeyman feud. God, this was ridiculous at the time. Layfield should win at the Rumble and move on to something bigger and better, definitely. Uhm, sorry to break it to you, but Juventud had been released the week prior due to using the 450 splash. MNM and Kid Kash with a win against the Mexicools was pretty good though, sounded pretty decent but unimportant on this night. You know what I would have liked to see? A one night tournament. I like the Gauntlet idea for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, but it was silly to see this Royal Rumble-like affair just two weeks away from the actual Royal Rumble match. I'd have just liked to see a tournament, or at least seen this Gauntlet put into different paragraphs. I got confused as to who was in the actual Gauntlet other than Mark Henry. Nice win for Henry though, and I liked the inclusion of Kurt Angle still, a great win for Angle with the World title, now let's hope he holds onto it through WrestleMania 22. Please don't put the title on Rey Mysterio. Not a bad show, but way too short and uninteresting outside of the main event and the Piper's Pit segment (barely). You could have done so much more with this episode.

Decent opening here on Raw with Vinnie Mac, not sure about all of the massive slayings of Flair and Cena, but we'll see what happens. Shelton Benjamin beating out Rob Conway in a first rounder is obviously acceptable with the Con-Man kinda sucking. Mickie James beating the living butt out of Ashley? Wut? The Masterlock Challenge going to a no contest is odd, but fair I suppose. Kane and Big Show getting the win was obviously the right call here. I'd be looking forward to Angle and Michaels. Like the little segment they had. Mickie James and Trish Stratus winning is good, hope you keep the awkwardness between them eventually with Mickie going nuts. Nice little Helms interview there, would like him to actually get somewhere. Good match to have here as I said earlier between Angle and Michaels, and the World Champion winning is fine with him going off to the blue brand for good. Mark Henry attacking Angle in the back actually I didn't even think of coming, but I dig it. Lastly, a good main event. I'm a little meh on Ric Flair's career ending - I hope he can come back some how - but if it really is the end, being in North Carolina is fair. A decent show, wouldn't mind some more detail into things though. Keep going with this.

I'm not a fan of stripping Ric Flair of the Intercontinental Championship. But, the main event should be great, as it was when it actually happened. Will you please at some point push Rob Conway? He was a solid heel with some good skill who never got a singles push. Benjamin going over was fine.
I hope that Masters wins the WWE Championship at some point. He grew on me during his WWE run. While Michaels/Angle is a great match, it should've been the first hour main event and not so close to the main event. I'd think that would kind of kill the crowd for the big main even. Hell, I might have started the show with it.
A good attack by Henry to feud with Angle and the main event had an obvious outcome. It seemed like a rather god RAW. Good job.

WWE Monday Night Raw I, for one, like this layout better. Stick with it. I don't like you stripping the title off of Flair. As much as I love tournaments, it would have been better for an up and comer to knock Flair off to win the title. Is the main event for the WWE Championship too? Good win for Benjamin to advance in the tournament here. I can honestly see him winning it all in the end, or maybe Chris Masters. I would actually appreciate Masters or Carlito winning the title. What could Hunter and McMahon be up to here. The Masterlock challenge was decent. I don't get the point of it going to a No-Contest with Cena passing out anyway. Obvious win for the tag team champions here. No real point in this match. Kurt Angle versus Shawn Michaels should be a great match tonight, but I would have put it away from the main event. I liked the Helms interview, I hope you actually have something planned for him. Rob Van Dam's return at the Rumble should be great. Angle defeating Michaels was fine, nothing much to it though. Michaels/Triple H should be a good match next week. Decent attack from Henry, basic stuff to advance a feud. Lastly, a perfect main event with Edge winning the TLC match, but I can't see Flair being done yet. Overall, it was a good show, but the only two matches worth watching were the last two.

The whole stripping Ric Flair of the title shouldn't have been done, in my opinion, I would have much rather him have lost it to some big guy as a punishment, but whatever. Pleased to see Shelton Benjamin get the victory, never was a Rob Conway fan. Mickie James gone crazy? Sounds good. A no contest Materlock Challenge? Seems okay, just wondering where Cena goes from here though. Pleased to see Kane and the Big Show with a victory, they were good World Tag Team Champions. I definitely think Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels should have gone on next as a first-hour Main Event, two big matches one after another don't really mix. Anyway, good to see Mickie and Trish with a victory, although I wonder where you're taking Mickie. Kurt Angle winning was the right move, especially since he's only just won the World Heavyweight Championship on SmackDown. Triple H versus Shawn Michaels is huge for next week. Liked the Mark Henry attack, but hope he doesn't win the World Heavyweight Championship, he wasn't big enough at this stage. Shocked to see Edge win and not too keen on it being the end of Flair's career, I do hope you bring him back somehow. Overall, it was a good Raw with some odd booking decisions, but I'll be reading.

WWE Monday Night RAW: Monday 16th January 2006...Not happy with the layout, always despised Verdana texted diaries. Mr McMahon throwing down consequences for those INTERRUPTING last week's Live Sex Celebration was weird and illogical, despite his heel alliance with Edge. John Cena having to break the Masterlock Challenge? Don't let him kill Chris Masters' only thing still going for him, please. Ric Flair then being stripped of the WWE Intercontinental Championship and then put into a match for the WWE Championship? Explain the logic there, Dan. I know you wanted to go ahead with the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, but this way ruins that effect. Gregory Helms broke Jerry Lawler's arm...sigh, more unnecessary storyline progression. Helms had his rub, it's time for something new in my opinion. Mickie James and Trish Stratus progressing their tension is nice. Shelton Benjamin had a nice opening contest with Rob Conway, I could see Shelton benefitting well from being champ. Didn't see the point in Mr McMahon threatening Shawn Michaels really. John Cena and Chris Masters definitely should have made the first hour main event, it was strange for it not to. Did like Cena being beaten down by Carlito and Masters though. I guess Cena will have beef with Masters and Carlito rather than facing Edge at the Royal Rumble then. Kane and Big Show beating Snitsky and Tomko was nice, the challengers to the World Tag Team Champions have potential for certain. Keep running with Snitsky and Tomko. I just don't think this was a good first hour main event. Kurt Angle with the swift babyface turn in my mind was weird, especially associating with Shawn all of a sudden. Did like Mickie James beating up Ashley to make Trish Stratus choose her as a partner tonight, but the blood was too far perhaps. Unless that's metaphorical. Mickie and Trish beating Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson was pretty fair, hopefully Candice and Torrie do something in the midst of this strange storyline with Mickie and Trish. That's another thing; Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels going on just before the main event TLC match. First hour main event, or made into a tag team match would have fixed this. This is getting a little overkill in my opinion. Triple H's cameo with Shawn just got him on the show; didn't like that really. He should have done something more, like maybe attacked Michaels after his match. Mark Henry jumping Angle in the parking lot was nice. Ric Flair retired by Edge was great, beautiful main event TLC match win for Edge, made Edge definitely something not to mess with. A fight nonetheless, I do see Flair returning soon though. Overall, not a bad show, but booking wise, too much. The ordering was off, as was the quality perhaps. It only makes next week's show harder to book to be better than the previous week's. Other than that, run with it, and change that damn layout.
