King K. Rool is a dream come true. The CG reveal was beautiful and would've blown my damn mind as a kid.

I was thinking of getting a Switch. King K. Rool is helping.

I woke up at 8:30 a.m. just to watch the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct. It was more than worth it. December 7 can’t come soon enough.

Everything I've heard is that the resolution (not sure if that's the correct term) of the Switch is way too low, and using it with a VR headset would just cause your eyes way too much strain.

Is anyone still playing their Switch? I was really into none for a while but it's just been collecting dust over the past few months. I haven't even finished Zelda. Everything I've heard is that the resolution (not sure if that's the correct term) of the Switch is way too low, and using it with a VR headset would just cause your eyes way too much strain. Yeah I'm curious about how that would work. If you use the Switch tablet in the headset, that would be way too heavy.

I haven't played my Switch in ages. I even brought it on vacation with me this last week and never took it out of the case. After I beat Zelda and Mario I picked up LA Noire and played a few hours in but didn't stick with it. I have Smash Bros pre ordered and I'll likely end up picking up DK at some point. The Binding of Isaac and Hollow Knight both look moderately interesting to me but there just isn't anything I've seen on the Switch so far outside of the classic titles that feels must play yet. Which is a shame because I really dig the system. I would have really loved a quality port of Fire Pro on the Switch because that's a game I could totally play handheld.

Hollow Knight was just on sale a couple weeks ago. $9.79 for the game, and all 4 add-ons released were free, adding several more hours to the game. That was a steal that I absolutely had to jump on.
Is everyone ready for Nintendo Switch Online TODAY? I got my code already. Just waiting on the 6.0.0 system update and for Nintendo to flip the switch - pun totally intended - for the Online to be live.

Lame. Nintendo says the 6.0 update will go live at 8PM EST. Then there's maintenance. So we won't be able to officially start our subscriptions until 11PM EST.

I tried the free trial, mostly just to play the nes games. I have most of those games added to my SNES Classic already. It’s a cool idea but not enough content for me at this point. Maybe if we see them expand the ports and add SNES/N64 I’ll be onboard. I’m going to try and keep tabs on it and see where it goes. I don’t play any games online, so that doesn’t interest me.

Super Mario Odyssey and other first party Nintendo games are on sale at Best Buy right now. SMO is $48.99, before GCU - if you still have it. But they are online prices, and you gotta buy online and set for in-store pickup to get the sale prices. I just tried to get SMO, but it is regular price in-store, and they won't match the site and take GCU off.

Just got a code from a friend for the Japanese version of DBZ Super Butoden. It being Japanese, I cannot read it, I dunno wtf I'm doing, but hey. Free is free, and more games = more games.

Is the switch worth it guys? Depends. For third party games, they generally look better on the other consoles, certain games not withstanding. But if you dig Nintendo stuff like Smash, Mario, Zelda, Kirby etc then absolutely.

My main concern is are they gonna go all in on this? Because they botched the hell out of the Wii u. Welcome to the Nintendo Casino, where all your bets are liable to be screwed. I think they're going all in, personally. They've announced that they're soon going to be done with the 3DS/2DS line, both in production of consoles and slowly, games. The Switch fits the mold for both a home console that the Wii U failed to be, and the mobile console Nintendo has been known for for ages. That doesn't mean they won't eventually come out with a newer version of the Switch, or an eventual replacement when games start killing the internal ability of the Switch, but for now I'd say you're safe with this for at least five to six years. This is their 9th gen console, just jumping early over the PS5 and whatever the hell Xbox calls their next thing.
