As part of the annual holiday prize drawings at work I won a Switch. I’m assuming I won’t have a game with it, unless it comes in the box with the system, I don’t know. Anyway, I’m not sure what game or games I would want to buy. I don’t know if I truly want one of the Pokémon Let’s Go games, so Mario Kart might be my first choice. Maybe Smash Bros? They have that on Switch right?

It’s hands down the best game on the system and possibly best game this generation.

I don’t have a very wide variety of games I’m interested in, so Zelda isn’t something I would spend my money on. Pretty much sports, GTA, or Mario. And Pokémon.

If you liked Mario 64 then Mario Odyssey is fun. New Super Mario Bros U is coming out in a couple weeks if you prefer side scrolling Mario and didn’t play it on the Wii U. Smash and Kart are also great.

With the purchase of No More Heroes 3 I now own more Switch games in the six months I've had the system than I owned for the Wii U in its entire lifespan. At least it has a good virtual console.

So there's apparently a rumoured confirmation that the Switch can handle Frostbite. IF that's true, then there's absolutely no excuse we don't get games like Madden and EA's NHL on the Switch. EA has so far just proven that they don't care about another install base, which is over 20M at this point. Why wouldn't they want those sales figures for Madden?

NSO is good, but I find myself wanting a Wii/WiiU Virtual Console more and more. There are just so many awesome games on that platform that we know the Switch can handle. I love the ever-growing library of NES games though. 90% of which I never owned when I had an NES.

A leaked list of SNES games for NSO is floating around so that's coming soon, but I do agree, a virtual console would be preferred. At the same time I want to see how far they can go with the classic games. At least to N64 but I'd love to get some Gamecube games on there even more.

I don't have a subscription to online yet because the NES games don't really interest me. But if they could eventually add N64 and Gamecube stuff that would be pretty good.

So the latest rumor making the rounds is that Microsoft is going to put out a Game Pass app for the Switch and start publishing some new Xbox titles on it as well. It'll be interesting to see if this one is true.

I'll definitely be signing up for Game Pass on day one!

Good news: Nintendo announced a VR accessory for the Switch. Bad news: It's just a ing Labo kit.

Good news: Nintendo announced a VR accessory for the Switch. Bad news: It's just a ing Labo kit. Zelda and Mario are getting VR compatibility. Super Mario Odyssey is just getting an extra VR mode with some mini games but Breath of the Wild is going full VR! Everything but the cut scenes will work with the Labo headset. I was skeptical obviously, but for $40 I might pick one up just for VR Zelda.

I've hit a wall with the Switch, like I totally forgot I owned it!
Everytime a title is released, I play it for a few days then just stop.
