Overrated
1. Bret Hart- Never did like him and never will.
2. Triple H
3. Stone Cold- He had great mic skills but he was only on top for a few years. He only had a few great matches in my mind and he only wanted to wrestle certain people (look at the list of people he wrestled after he became a main eventer). He quit in 2002 (I lost a ton of respect for him when he did that), I hate the "WHAT" chant, he hardly ever put over any talent clean once he became a main eventer (Hogan, Rock, HBK, and Undertaker put over way more people than Austin). Austin just seems pretty unprofessional to me.
Underrated
1. The Big Bossman 2. Earthquake 3. Haku (Meng)

Austin didn't quit, he had to retire because of his neck.

Some great opinions in here, some I agree with like Ric Flair, Owen and Bret Hart being overrated (although I think Bret in the ring is one of the best, he just didn't have the showbz side of wrestling that Vince loves) Overrated Edge - He's a really good all round wrestler but I just don't see this amazing superstar people make him out to be. He was very hit and miss for me and some one who after his neck injury wasn't quite the same, his Rated R gimmick in the first year or so was brilliant but his smackdown heavyweight championship run was boring to me at the time. William Regal - I love him, hes English ... but he seems to be put on this pedestal by fans for being this amazing wrestler who should be main eventing wrestlemania. I never thought he had the right stuff to be World Champion, I feel he was a "win it in your home town then loose it the next week" kind of champion if he ever did get a World Title. RVD - He puts on some really good matches but I feel after a while it all gets the a bit the same. I also feel he rates himself too highly and he exudes this sort of aura that hes the best and every has come to see him. Underrated HHH - I feel he gets a lot of undeserved hate and was very good in ring and very good at putting over his character. When he said he was gunna kick someones ass you believed it and when he was up against someone like a Rock or Austin you actually thought he might win which lacks in modern day heels i feel. Bradshaw - Not the best in the ring but he played the heel so well, he was good in the APA but as John Layfield he got a ton of heat and he was believable, he weaseld his way out of a lot of matches but he could also go out there and but you up and make it believable. Thats all I can really think of beside naming a couple who have already been said.

You guys who are saying Ric Flair is overrated are crraaaaaaazy.
He (and the Horseman) made their money from making everybody else look good. If he wasn't around, a lot of these guys wouldn't be sh*t. They put over a lot of people.
Ric Flair is your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler. I really don't see how anyone could say that guy is overrated.

Not hating on the guy. Just giving my opinion that he's more than a little overrated for his in ring work.

Anyone who says Owen was overrated, and anyone who agrees needs to be punched in the face... HARD.

Flair is a legend but he was very hit and miss in the ring imo throughout his career, and agree w/ another poster that if you saw one Ric Flair match, then you'd seen them all. But that doesn't mean they were bad. Most Flair matches in his prime were better than 90% of every other match at the time. It's just that Flair stuck to the same routine for almost all of his matches, which consisted of flopping around and getting the crap beaten out of him for 30+ minutes, only to cheat to hang onto his title.

Kind of like Hogan and HBK matches to. Every mainevent preformer had the same routine pretty much.

I disagree with this part. Guys like HBK, Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect had completely different matches depending on who they were wrestling. For recent example, watch HBK vs. Undertaker from Wrestlemania 25 and then watch HBK vs. Undertaker from Ground Zero in 1997. Two completely different matches. Same goes for Bret Hart. He wrestled big guys like Undertaker & Diesel completely different from the way he wrestled smaller guys like HBK and Perfect. Sure they used some of the same moves (elbow drop, kip up, back breaker, leg sweep, etc.) but just because they used some of the same moves doesn't mean they worked the same match style.
Flair, on the other hand, IN MY OPINION wrestled the same match style regardless of who it was.

Minus the series with Angle.

Flair's complete match included him having moves done to him the entire match.
- Knee drop - Chops - Figure Four - Taking that annoying back body drop where he falls on his side. - Falling over.
Flair made a career out of booking himself as champion, having his friends book him as champion and having other guys make him look good.
Look at Savage vs Flair at WM8, savage did The vast majority of the work, and what he didn't do Mr Perfect did!

HBK matches are not all the same. HBK had great matches with EVERYONE he stepped into the ring with. I honestly cant think of one match he had that was truely bad. And while yeah he had a few spots he repeated often like the Moonsault into the announce table and the whole kip up thinng but EVERY wrestler has a few spots that they repeat in every match.

I'll try to explain my opinion why I feel Owen is overrated, not trying to start an argument, just a discussion per Bash's orders!. The IWC has really overhyped Owen after his death. During his career, he was a very good wrestler and a very good heel. No one is denying that. I hear lots of people calling for him to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A lot of fans call him a legend. While I feel he was a great wrestler, I wouldn't go so far as to call him a legend. If he didn't die the way he did and/or his last name wasn't Hart, most probably wouldn't be calling him a legend. He was a great wrestler who had 1 outstanding feud with his brother, and another good feud with Austin which ended prematurely. He was stuck in mid-card hell for a while, and in the tag team circuit. A lot of the IWC also likes to claim Owen was going to get the strap. Fact is, he wasn't. With Austin/Rock /HBK/Taker, he wasn't getting the strap anytime soon. When he died, he was playing the Blue Blazer, feuding with a pimp. I know a lot of people like to paint rosey pictures of wrestlers when they die, asking what could have been. Owen was a very likeable guy in real life, a great wrestler, but he isn't the legend the IWC paints him to be.

Owen was a very likeable guy in real life, a great wrestler, but he isn't the legend the IWC paints him to be. I agree with Owen not getting the belt. However he should have won it in 94. The fact that Bob Backlund won the WWF title that year is rediculous. They should have had Owen win it from Bret and then lose it to Diesel. It would have provided us with a MUCH better fued and MUCH better matches.....plus Owen deserved it. But as far as Owen's death being a factor towards ppl calling owen a legend and saying how great he was i sort of agree but you cant deny the fact that he was great in the ring and on the mic and deserved more then he got in the WWE. And then to say he doesnt deserve to be in the HOF......come on man, Koko B. Ware is in the HOF and he did nothing but carry a bird and job his whole career.
