TNA Impact Wrestling star Sting recently appeared on "Big Poppa in the Morning" on 97.9/105.5 KISS-FM, and had the following to say concerning the opponent he would most like to face:
"I'd have to say the top one... Undertaker. I think wrestling fans have wanted to see Sting vs. Undertaker for years. I think between his gimmick and mine, it could be pretty cool. We could do some pretty cool stuff."
Sting also had the following to say regarding any regrets about never working for WWE:
"Yes and no. Who wouldn't want to say that they've done at least one WrestleMania? I'm not going to lie to you, I wish I had done one of those. I've had great conversations with him [Vince McMahon] over the years and been real close on three or four different occasions. There was always a need met or desire of mine met with WCW or with TNA, so I stayed.
Last year... we [him and WWE] were very, very close."

Does anyone really believe this? It seemed like last year 2 21 11 was for Taker the whole time and never was for Sting, Hence TNA's lame parody of 2 21 11. Dixie Carter was asked in interviews about rumors of Sting joining WWE and she acted as if he really were joining but it was all an act just for TNA to resign Sting and have him return on Impact, It was a way of saying we got Sting and had him all along so suck on that when in reality WWE and Vince never promised Sting, It was the fans that thought it was Sting.
Sting is lying in these interviews just to show that he is a man of his word and is respectful to TNA and for the fans to continue on saying hes the biggest star to never work for Vince.
But there was always something about that 2 21 11 promo that tells me it was for Sting, Maybe Sting was gonna join the E but at the last minute he declined and thus the promo ended up also being for HHH and that was the backup plan. Maybe one day we'll see that dream match but thank god we didn't get Taker vs Sting because that crowd sucked ass.
If Sting was smart he'd join WWE, Get into the HOF, Face Taker, Make a ton of cash, Get a merchandise deal and a figure and go out with a bang instead of returning at Bound For Glory every year... Most of these new fans on here have only seen his TNA work but his late WCW run was epic, There's also alot of old school Sting fans on here from his Surfer days but Im a bigger fan of his Crow days from Nitro.

Sting in WWE is not that important to me anymore. I actually like the fact sting became a legend an icon without the WWE. WWE could still put him in the HOF one day without Sting having to wrestle for them. I think we all are getting used to the fact that the real dream matches we all wanted to see will never happen. Rock vs HBK, Austin vs Goldberg, Sting vs Taker, Bret vs Angle, Hogan vs Austin. the closet thing we got to a dream match was Hogan vs Rock and even that i never really wanted to see because I thought is was always going to be Austin. And now we got Rock vs Cena but its still whatever.

I would have loved for Sting to come to the WWE for a quick run leading to a WM match.

Despite actually never being in WWE...Isn't it because of WWF/E that Sting is who he is today? Because WWE had all the top talent, other places needed new talent to push?

Sting is rich enough. He doesn't have anything to prove except to give fans something they want to see.

Personally I don't think sting would go to wwe now
He has that unique top star status "never working for them" thing
I love sting (obviously) and he has done so much fr tna

Just because the 2/2/12 thing was obviously for Undertaker doesn't really prove anything. They could have easily done something along the lines of what they did last year and just had Sting come out instead of Triple H if they had worked out a deal or done something completely different.

I dont really care about Sting being onscreen anymore but I do want him to sign a legends deal so we can get a proper Sting career DVD with docus etc and maybe a Mattel figure or 5.

I wish he would've signed last year, but no way was him and Taker topping Taker/HHH.

The only reason I hope this isn't the Undertakers last WM is because we havn't seen him face Sting. There are two people Sting could have faced if he came to the WWE that would have put asses in seats- HBK and Taker. HBK is retired, I would kill for him to face the Undertaker next year. It's clearly something he has thought about, and it would be the perfect way to end BOTH careers, with a match people have wanted to see for over a decade, on the grandest stage of them all.

The only reason he's ever given for not joining is the whole worried about being buried thing after what happened to Booker, it's disappointing that he's never taken an offer, especially when it comes to facing Taker. Personally, i think he'll look back one day and regret not doing it.

When Sting decides to retire, he should do it in WWE. Enter the Hall of Fame and compete at WrestleMania.
