"If I'm the Devil..." by letlive.
Are you the one, the handsome bastard son, that nobody will talk about it all? I am the one, most fortunate of sons, that no one gives a damn about at all.
I am singing for you, I am singing for you. All the privileged and the foolish - this is for you.
All we’ve done, regrettable but fun. There’s something you should know about us all. If you bite your thumb, you better pray I bite my tongue. Where I’m from we throw hands then we talk it out.
I am singing for you, I am singing for you. Sensitive yet violent fools - yeah, this is for you.
It’s what you think, therefore I am. If I’m the devil, you’re the reason. The reason that we kill ourselves and give ourselves all away.
Can you name one fool that sang along? One person that has heard about us? Worst of all, of all these sad old songs, no verse was ever sung about them.
I am singing for you, I am singing for you. All the privileged and the foolish - this is for you.
It’s what you think, therefore I am. If I’m the devil, you’re the reason. The reason that we kill ourselves and give ourselves all away. It’s what you think therefore I am. If you’re the devil, I’m the reason. The reason that it still ain’t safe to put ourselves on display. It’s what you think therefore I am.
I know what you’re thinking about and there ain’t no use in that. They seem too good for that. Are you good with that? Well, get used to that. I know what you’re thinking about and there ain’t no use in that. They seem too good for that. Are you good with that? Well, get used to that...
The devil is real... and she's a lot closer than you think.
Welcome to H̶E̶R̶E̶T̶I̶C̶S̶ Ø

Boarding one of the WWE's tour buses to get from her hotel to Levi's Stadium, all Paige wanted to do was be alone. She sat by herself on the bus, ignoring glares from other superstars on the bus. Even those she considered allies such as Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch didn't acknowledge her, though Paige could've chalked that up to those two focusing on huge matches of their own tonight. Paige put on her headphones and tried blaring music to make her forget about the events ever since SummerSlam that have led to today.
"The Stranger in Our Pictures" by Hail the Sun
Tension flowing through my veins and I can feel it I want to cut it out so I can see it But that’s the way I always know, even now, this uncertainty soon will pass
Hours spent inside the room that got me sober Praying the dopamine would find me sooner But that’s the gash I had to sew On this road I just have to own where it goes
Soft manipulating hot and cold Kept my family waiting long enough
Careless and self centered ways I behaved stained our home, I found a photograph my father took of someone I don’t know I don’t recognize
Lovers, and everyone who fought for me to beat it How could I commit when I didn’t feel it? I wish that I could give you back stolen time Maybe in the end you’ll get mine
I'd kill the light, when everyone was home I didn't want them to know where I was Alive at night I snuck around to be the very thing you tried preventing Maybe in the end I’ll give it back Maybe in the end you’ll get it back You’ll get it back
Soft manipulating hot and cold Kept my family waiting long enough I don’t know… Careless and self-centered ways I behaved stained our home I found a photograph my brother took of someone I don’t know I don’t recognize anymore
When the bus finally arrived at Levi's Stadium, Paige was the last one to leave. She intentionally waited for everyone else to exit before her so she could make the walk into the stadium without anyone nearby. She finally walked through the door, accepting her belongings from two workers who opened the compartment on the bus' exterior. Paige made the slow, daunting walk into Levi's Stadium. From afar, she could hear Bring Me the Horizon performing their soundcheck, the band once again providing theme songs for every single match on the WrestleMania card, this time with the album amo.
Paige knew beforehand the only person who she wished the interact with, at least until she needed to walk through the curtain tonight in front of over 75,000 WWE Universe members. 'Princess Anarchist' walked down a hallway toward the locker room when she found The Rock, who noticed her walking from a distance. Rock stopped what he was doing and waited for Paige to greet him.
Rock: "How are you feeling?"
Paige: "Why are you asking me? You have the documentary footage. You know how I feel."
Paige was referring to the fact that she had been cooperating with The Rock and his studio to produce a film documenting her journey in WWE. She accepted the offer some time after SummerSlam, and part of the process to capture Paige's genuine life was to have a camera crew occasionally visit her home and film her going about her everyday life. Because of how mentally and physically taxing the last few months have been, she broke down crying on camera several times, and she knows that The Rock has seen the footage for himself.
Rock: "Do you think you're ready for this match?"
Paige: "I think I'm as ready as I possibly can be. It's completely different from last year when I knew that I was the 'good guy' going in. Bray Wyatt deserved everything he got, but now, I feel like I'm the one who deserves to get hurt."
Rock: "Don't say that. It isn't true."
Paige: "It is true because I'm a bad person."
Rock: "Paige, I don't think you're a bad person. I think you're somebody who's made mistakes like any other human."
Paige stayed silent for a bit, Rock bringing up something that he had been wanting to run by her.
Rock: "If you really want, we can cut the film to the moment you became WWE Champion last year. We don't need to go into detail about everything since then if you don't want to."
Paige: "... I mean, you wanted my life story for this. And whether I like it or not, these last few months have been part of that. It's who I am now. If I can't escape my demons, then neither should this movie."
Paige and Rock both stood there silently, neither of them sure how to continue approaching the subject that was clearly sensitive to Paige. The best thing for her at that point was to continue blocking everything and everyone out in order to focus on competing tonight in the first-ever Love Like War match.
Just before Paige exited, Rock asked her one final question. One that she didn't have the answer to.
Rock: "... Is tonight the final match of your career?"

Sunday August 17th, 2014 New York City, New York
With help from Peyton Royce to take Billie Kay to the locker room after she fainted at the sight of The Rock, Paige had to consider the offer from 'The Great One' about a film that details her journey to and in WWE. At that moment, all she wanted to do was focus on defeating AJ Lee in a Last Diva Standing match tonight.
Peyton: "I convinced half of the roster to show up to a party, so the least I can do is go back and tell them to take their cake and go."
Paige: "That's fine. I'll make sure Billie wakes up."
Peyton was trusting Paige to keep Billie safe since the group didn't know where AJ, or even TJ Perkins, were lurking in Madison Square Garden. Peyton went off into a different direction as Paige opened the door to an empty locker room, sitting Billie down onto a bench. She snapped her fingers in the face of 'The Femme Fatale' until she came to.
Billie: "... What the hell happened to me?"
Paige: "You saw The Rock, so you fainted."
Billie: "... You mean to tell me that I finally met my childhood hero, and I can't even remember it because I passed out?"
Paige: "You didn't actually meet him, if it's any consolation."
Billie: "What did he even want with you?"
Paige: "... He wants to make a movie about me."
Billie: "What do you mean a movie about me?"
Paige: "Remember that documentary my family had two years ago?"
Billie: "Yeah. I watched it with Peyton."
Paige: "He said it inspired him because of the dynamic my family has. But now that I'm this megastar with WWE, he wants the movie to cover my time here."
Billie: "That's good, isn't it?"
Paige: "... .... .... ...."
Paige's silence was startling to Billie. Anyone would be thrilled to hear that The Rock of all people took an interest in a film project based around them, but it's as if Paige wasn't at all excited.
Paige then began to cry.
Billie: "What's wrong?"
Paige: "... I... I don't want to be famous. I said when I came to America that I wanted to be the biggest star WWE had ever seen, and I got it. I ing got it and I ing hate it! I hate being crowded with fans everywhere I go! I hate that I don't get to have the slightest bit of a life because every day off of mine is spent doing media and autograph signings and whatever the else this company puts me in! I didn't get to have a normal teenage life because of wrestling, and this ing industry is going to take away my adulthood next because I'll be working until I'm dead! I could've just walked away from all of this after WrestleMania. I should have, but instead, I decided that I wanted to become WWE Champion!"
Billie: "Paige, calm down. Please. Just-"
Paige: "And you know what the worst part of it all is?! It's the fact that I can't just throw away my match tonight because of who it's against! With just about any other opponent at this point, I'd probably lie down and just give them the ing title, but not AJ! I'd rather stop being a **** and kill myself than see her become WWE Champion after what she did to you!"
Billie: "... What did you say?"
Paige didn't immediately answer Billie, who was able to figure out exactly why Paige was putting herself in this position to have to fight AJ again.
Paige: "... My feud with AJ ended months ago. I never wanted to face her in a ring ever again. I was willing to become friends with her just to put all of the bullcrapbehind us... but when I found out that she... that she raped you... that's the reason all this is happening."
Billie brought Paige closer in to hug her, the WWE Champion still crying profoundly.
Before Billie could get another word out, Paige suddenly kissed her.
Billie: "What are you doing?"
Not giving a worded response, Paige went into kiss her again. It's as if an uncontrollable urge consumed Paige. The same urge that led to AJ sexually assaulting Billie.
Billie: "Get the away from me!"
Billie pushed Paige to the ground after having flashbacks to her encounter with AJ. Billie raised her left hand, showing Paige her wedding ring. Not just to remind her that she was a married woman, but also to remind Paige that she's the one who allowed the wedding to even happen.
Paige seemingly returned to reality, realizing what she had just done. She tried to sexually assault Billie.
After getting to her feet, Paige stormed out of the room, leaving behind a confused and hurt Billie. She finally knew for a fact that Paige was in love with her, and she couldn't understand why she had to be the person who was causing so much violence and destruction. AJ vs. Peyton happened because of her. Paige vs. AJ is going to happen because of her. All she's done is exist and fulfill her dream of becoming a WWE superstar, and somehow, that's enough for people around her to get hurt.
Running away from the room where Billie was, Paige stopped near the make-up table in a hallway, turning to a large mirror. Paige looked at herself briefly, and didn't believe that she was looking at the same person as before. The struggles of living as a main event-calier WWE superstar had finally caught up to her, as did her harbored feelings for Billie. She was already in a relationship, yet just forced herself onto somebody who she considered a friend. Along with that, she also just betrayed Peyton, who trusted Paige enough to let her be alone with Billie.
Perhaps as some sort of cathartic way of accepting that she's changed internally, Paige decided to change externally as well. She took a pair of scissors off the table and looked into the mirror, beginning to cut her hair.
"Dirt" by Courage My Love
Six feet under struggling to breathe I'm covered in the dirt on your mind Digging deeper with every word that you speak You're on to me, but honestly
I tried to warn you, told you that I was bad news, yeah I never wanted to make a mess of everything
These lies, these dirty little lies They're keeping me up all night This time they're dragging me down And I don't know how to turn it around, yeah These lies, these dirty little lies They're running right through my mind If I've been dragging you down I'm telling you now, I'll turn it around, yeah These lies, these dirty little lies
Couldn't keep my hands to myself Left a stain, now you might never be clean Wish I could wash away all the hurt I just messed you up with my words And you believed, but honestly
I tried to warn you, told you that I've got issues, yeah And I never wanted to stray but it was all so easy
These lies, these dirty little lies They're keeping me up all night This time they're dragging me down And I don't know how to turn it around, yeah These lies, these dirty little lies They're running right through my mind If I've been dragging you down I'm telling you now, I'll turn it around, yeah
Ah ah These lies, these dirty little lies Ah ah These lies, these dirty little lies
Maybe it's all in my head And you don't see through me just yet But sooner or later you'll regret And sooner or later we ever met
These lies, these dirty little lies They're keeping me up all night (Up all night) I'll turn it around
These lies, these dirty little lies They're keeping me up all night This time they're dragging me down And I don't know how to turn it around, yeah These lies, these dirty little lies They're running right through my mind If I've been dragging you down I'm telling you now, I'll turn it around, yeah
These lies, these dirty little lies These lies, these dirty little lies
Later that night...
The second that the bell rang to conclude the Last Diva Standing match for the WWE Championship, AJ Lee was tended by the medical staff. She was heavily lacerated all over her body, and likely had a concussion. She was placed onto a stretcher and hurried into an ambulance. Right behind the paramedics were Paige, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, the latter two helping the WWE Champion stand to her feet.
Paige: "You should've died when you crashed your car."
Those were Paige's final words to AJ, referring to her suicide attempt back in May. AJ was placed into the ambulance, still unconscious. The ambulance drove away, leaving Paige, Billie and Peyton with a sea of photographers for WWE behind them. Peyton turned around to try and demand that they leave them alone, which gave Paige the chance to speak to Billie alone briefly.
Paige: "I'm sorry."
Billie didn't respond with words, but instead nodded her head. She wasn't immediately going to forgive Paige for what happened earlier, but in the grand scheme of things, she's been through worse over the last few months. At least that's what she tried telling herself to justify letting Paige off the hook.
Paige was then ordered to go into the trainer's room. While she wasn't in as bad of a condition as AJ, she still sustained several injuries during the Last Diva Standing match. While she was been looked at, Billie and Peyton returned to the locker room area to get their belongings. That's when Peyton took her opening to ask Billie something.
Peyton: "... I can trust her, right?"
Billie: "... Trust Paige?"
Peyton: "Yeah."
Billie: "Why wouldn't you be able to?"
Peyton: "She lied to me on SmackDown last month when I asked her if she knew what AJ did you. And I might just be paranoid, but there's also the way she was holding you in the ring."
Billie: "She was protecting me. Both of those times."
Peyton: "I know that, and I'm glad she was able to. But why was she holding you so closely to her? When I got my ass kicked by AJ, she didn't care. But when you're in danger, that's when Super Paige suddenly comes to the rescue."
Billie thought she could answer to defend Paige, but it's as if she couldn't try formulating an answer for Peyton that would both make sense and keep what happened earlier to herself.
Peyton: "Let me rephrase my question. Can we trust Paige?"

Monday August 18th, 2014 New York City, New York
One day removed from SummerSlam, and Paige could now finally let out a sigh of relief. AJ Lee was finally behind her. She'd never have to see the face of 'The Black Widow' again. She was certain that there was no change of AJ coming back now that she was defeated, and she had to finally take the hint that Billie Kay doesn't want anything to do with her. At last, Paige could move on. Yes, her secret about her two pregnancies were out there because of AJ, but she figured she'd just learn to live with that information being public knowledge. All that mattered to her was that she and Billie were safe.
The only thing Paige believed that she had to worry about was Billie telling Peyton Royce that she kissed her in the locker room before SummerSlam.
"The Words 'Best Friend' Become Redefined" by Chiodos
I've been hiding in this bed for weeks from this Throats raw from screaming and I haven't said a word The sky is calling, and the stars they point to this
To a chair we see your breath in the air, but only for a little while Your cold pale skin and tainted purple lips Let me embrace you with this kiss And together we'll float like angels Together... together we will float, like angels
Higher than the heavens the clouds part ways 'Promise me to never look down!' and we'll stay like this forever
If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done
To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed Been hiding in this bed for weeks
Despite enduring hell in her Last Diva Standing match, Paige was permitted by the WWE's medical staff to travel to Brooklyn for SmackDown Live this week. She isn't cleared to compete yet, but she can at least be there and enjoy a SmackDown scenery without AJ.
Paige was leaving her hotel room in New York City, putting down two bags of her belongings in the hallway. She intended on going back into her room one more time to get her last suitcase, but just before she could walk through the doorway, a plastic bag was placed over her head.
Paige immediately had her eye sight and breathing obstructed. She was pushed into a wall, falling to the ground before being kicked over and over again. She could feel two sets of legs beating her down. All she knew was that two people were attacking her. She couldn't see any of their features. It was all happening so fast that she couldn't even distinguish if it was men or women.
One of the attackers placed Paige's head in the doorway while the other slammed the door into her temple.
Paige was practically left for dead in the hallway while her two unknown attackers got away.

August 18th, 2014 | Episode 019 | "The Man of God" AJ STYLES CREDITS ONE MAN FOR HIS TRIUMPHANT SUMMERSLAM: Just 24 hours removed from SummerSlam, Monday Night RAW emanated from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York as the brand new Universal Champion AJ Styles kicked things off. Styles made his way out to a mixed reaction, raising the championship once he was in the ring. Styles said that ever since he lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania, he hasn't been the same and he knows exactly why. "It has nothing to do with a lack of confidence. It isn't because I haven't been just as talented in this ring as I've always been. It comes down to one thing and one thing only: my faith. I was raised in a Christian home and had those beliefs instilled in me. I'm not afraid to call myself a man of God. I go to church with my family. We give thanks before every meal. Each time I walk back through that curtain, I say a prayer and thank God for keeping me safe. But somewhere along the way, I lost those values because I was more concerned with being loved by the WWE Universe than my lord and savior. Today, I'm proud to say that I'm standing here as the Universal Champion because I finally had the smoke cleared for me. I never needed any of you because none of you dictate my life. None of you bring me the joy that God does! God has been there for me every step, all the way back to when none of you gave a damn about AJ Styles! I no longer live with the need for your approval. All I need is the love of the man above because I'm not just a man of God. I am 'The Man of God.'" Styles was ready to leave the ring after berating the WWE Universe, but was interrupted by the former Universal Champion Derrick Bateman. 'The God of the New Era' stepped into the ring, telling a grinning Styles that he can keep smiling all he wants. Even if General Manager Dario Cueto isn't granting any champions rematch clauses, this isn't the end of the road for him. "I get it. You had your moment. You beat me just like you wanted to, but understand something. I don't care who or what you believe is on your side. As far as I'm concerned, all you're doing is holding MY Universal Championship! Praise God all you want, but in this world, in this industry, I am God! And I don't only exist in the clouds or in pages of text. I'm standing before you right now as the entity who has always had your number! So don't thank God for anything because after I win my Fatal Four Way match, I'm going to become the number one contender and take back the Universal Championship at Payback because God! Won't! Save you!" Bateman got in Styles' face, the two just about ready to collide again. However, Styles exited the ring, not seeing a valid reason to fight Bateman when he already has what he wanted from him.
1) DERRICK BATEMAN DEF. FINN BALOR, RANDY ORTON AND ADAM COLE TO QUALIFY FOR THE MAIN EVENT after a TKO to Orton. During the match, The Undisputed ERA attempted to interfere on Cole's behalf, only for Balor to wipe them out with a leap over the top rope. In the ring, Orton went for an RKO that Bateman was able to counter with a backslide roll-up. Orton kicked out, but was then caught with a knee to his jaw before falling victim to a TKO. Delivering on his promise so far, Bateman is just one match away from facing AJ Styles at Payback for the Universal Championship.
THE MIZ MAKES A DEMAND TO DARIO CUETO: In Dario Cueto's office, The Miz walked in, asking what happened to the extravagant 'Dario's Dial of Doom' that he promised everyone. Dario said that there have been some delays in his works, but only because right now, his focus is on Unison. "Because that is where my baby brother, Matanza, is going to become the Universal Champion." Miz said that Matanza is actually the reason he wanted to see Dario. "The WWE Universe has never heard your brother speak before, and I feel that right now when he's most vulnerable, I want to be the person who gets the scoop on who Matanza really is." Miz said that he intends on hosting Miz TV tonight, and his guest will be Matanza.
2) DREW MCINTYRE DEF. R-TRUTH via the Claymore Kick. In a surprise call-up from NXT, Drew McIntyre made his way to Monday Night RAW all by himself after he and Jinder Mahal lost the NXT Tag Team Championships to Ricochet and Uhaa Nation at TakeOver: MSG. McIntyre made short work of Truth, and when he left the ring, he denied giving Cathy Kelley an interview regarding why he's chosen now as the time to return to the main roster.
DISSENSION IN THE WYATT TRIBE: In a dark room somewhere backstage, The Wyatt Tribe gathered after Randy Orton's loss in the first of two Fatal Four Way matches. Bray Wyatt told Orton that now isn't the time for his Tribe to show mediocrity in any way. "Mediocrity? That's what you want to call it, Bray? Then what do you call you tapping out in Aztec Warfare?" Pentagon stepped in between Orton and Wyatt, reminding them that he still has a Fatal Four Way match tonight. He'll win and go on to defeat Derrick Bateman in the main event for the same reason he's been dominant up to this point: Cero Miedo.
MIZ TV WITH MATANZA CUETO: In the ring, Miz TV was set up as 'The Awesome One' welcomed the WWE Universe to the most must-see show in history. Miz said that tonight's edition of Miz TV is an incredibly special one because he's going to get the inside scoop that nobody else has. "Without further ado, please welcome my guest tonight, 'The Monster' Matanza Cueto!" Matanza headed down to the ring, and it felt like for the first time, Matanza showed emotion through his body language. He didn't walk as menacingly as he used to. It felt like Matanza was changed, but remaining the same was his silence. Every time Miz tried to ask him a question, Matanza refused to answer. "How did it feel to have your face repeatedly kicked off by Aleister Black?" Miz asked to no answer. "... How does it feel knowing that you're only on Monday Night RAW because of your brother?" The question was intended to get under Matanza's skin, but he was still silent. Finally, Miz sounded off on Matanza. "You know what I think, Matanza? I think your entire presence on RAW is a load of crap! For years, I was outcasted because people didn't think I belonged here! They didn't think that I paid my dues! You were literally given a spot on the WWE's flagship show because Dario is the General Manager! There's no other reason you're here! It's the same reason why you're getting a Universal Championship match at Unison over someone deserving like me! If anyone else, anyone else was the General Manager right now, you'd be a circus act because you're a complete freak who serves no use whatsoever!" Miz's words were finally able to set Matanza off. 'The Monster' grabbed Miz by his throat, throwing him out of the ring before trashing the Miz TV set. Miz hurried up the entrance ramp, realizing first-hand what happens when you try lashing out at Matanza.
3) ALEISTER BLACK DEF. UNITED STATES CHAMPION SETH ROLLINS, DANIEL BRYAN AND PENTAGON TO QUALIFY FOR THE MAIN EVENT with Black Mass to Pentagon. At one point in the match, Kevin Owens began walking down to ringside. Rollins, who had his ribs taped because of Owens, went right after 'The Prizefighter.' The two brawled to the back, leaving Bryan, Pentagon and Black in the ring. Pentagon locked Bryan's arm in place and was about to snap it until Black delivered Black Mass to him! Black covered Pentagon to solidify his spot in the main event tonight against Derrick Bateman.
ALEXA BLISS ISN'T DONE CAPTURING CHAMPIONSHIPS: At this time, Alexa Bliss made her first entrance on RAW with both the RAW Women's Championship and Money in the Bank briefcase, the latter being taken from Emma last night at SummerSlam in a Winner Takes All match. Alexa said that she didn't know what it would take to finally shut Emma up, but considering that no one has seen Emma all night, she thinks she finally figured out the solution. "All it took was to steal everything from her. Not only am I still the RAW Women's Champion, but now, I have my ticket to living out Emma's dream to become the Universal Champion! But... I'm not done there." Alexa said that during Emma's reign of terror, there was one more championship that she had to her name, and now, she wants it. Alexa called out the Hardcore Champion, Drake Maverick. A few seconds later, Maverick walked out to the ring with an over-the-top, colorful suit. Maverick stood nearly the same height as Alexa, telling her that she needs to understand that picking a fight with him is a lot different than picking one with Emma. "Unlike Emma, I'm actually dangerous. You have no idea what I'm capable of," Maverick said, Alexa and everyone else in the WWE Universe treating him as a joke. Maverick finally said that Alexa can have a Hardcore Title match, but only in exchange for a kiss. Maverick puckered his lips and closed his eyes, Alexa instead giving him a briefcase shot to his face! Alexa raised the RAW Women's Title and Money in the Bank briefcase in the ring while Maverick ran to Dario Cueto's office. Maverick demanded that Alexa be punished, but Dario actually liked the idea of 'Little Miss Bliss' having the desire to become everything that Emma was in spite of her. That's why next week, Maverick will defend the Hardcore Championship against Alexa.
4) ROMAN REIGNS & BRAUN STROWMAN DEF. THE REVIVAL TO RETAIN THE RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS via a Spear to Dash Wilder. In a SummerSlam rematch that Dario Cueto authorized - unlike in the Universal Championship picture - Reigns and Strowman were able to stun the WWE Universe yet again with their willingness to cooperate. After the match, the team of Sen Regieren - Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe - finally made their debuts after weeks of vignettes. Dain and Wolfe stood across from Reigns and Strowman, but instead went after The Revival. Dain and Wolfe laid out Wilder and Dawson while Reigns and Strowman were able to walk away unscathed by Sen Regieren.
5) SASHA BANKS DEF. CARMELLA & JAMES ELLSWORTH IN A HANDICAP MATCH after forcing Ellsworth to submit to the Bank Statement. Afterwards, Sasha took a microphone and said that ever since coming to Monday Night RAW, things haven't gone the way she could've imagined. "This time last year, I was THE most talked about superstar in the women's division. Even with Paige and AJ Lee dominating on the main roster, it was my presence in NXT that brought this division to the forefront! I didn't need thumbtacks or barbed wire to leave my mark! I scratched and clawed my way to the top on pure talent alone, and I refuse to be turned back now because I don't fit into the mold on RAW. I'm the reason for the Women's Revolution! This division belongs to me, so whenever Alexa Bliss decides to face a challenger who can actually beat her, 'The Boss' will be waiting."
SMACKDOWN LIVE PREVIEW: In the wake of a mysterious attack against WWE Champion Paige following her successful defense against AJ Lee at SummerSlam, SmackDown Live Commissioner will update the WWE Universe on her condition. Plus, Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes defend the SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Iconic Duo. And after John Cena retained the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, who will be next to answer the champion's open challenge?
6) ALEISTER BLACK DEF. DERRICK BATEMAN TO EARN A UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT PAYBACK via Black Mass. An incredible back-and-forth main event as Black's undefeated streak was in the most danger it's ever been. After sliding off of Bateman's shoulders during a TKO attempt, 'The Dutch Destroyer' connected with Black Mass to the back of his head! Black covered Bateman for a victory that shocked the entire WWE Universe. Black just defeated RAW's top superstar for the entire year, and will now be heading to Nashville on September 14th for the fight of his life against AJ Styles.
Light vs. Darkness.
Heaven vs. Hell.
The Man of God vs. The Anti-Hero at Payback for the Universal Championship!

Paige's first glimpse upon waking up from being knocked out was the set of lights above her hospital bed. She slowly opened her eyes, seeing Billie Kay and Peyton Royce there to greet her. The two were just happy to see Paige finally respond after being brutally assaulted. Paige tried to sit up, Billie telling her to be careful.
Billie: "You were found in the doorway of your hotel room. Someone smashed the door into head. You started bleeding profusely and an ambulance was called."
Paige: "... It wasn't someone."
Peyton: "What do you mean it wasn't someone?"
Paige: "Two people attacked me. That much I remember."
Billie and Peyton were both startled that Paige was able to recall that instantly after regaining consciousness.
Paige: "I could feel two people kicking me after I was knocked down by them."
Billie: "Do you know who they were?"
Paige: "They covered my head with a plastic bag so I couldn't see them."
Peyton: "Did you hear their voices?"
Paige: "They didn't say anything. They didn't even make a sound while they were beating me."
That's all the information Paige could provide. She was just as clueless as anyone else to the answers. The only people who knew the identities of her attackers were the attackers themselves.
Billie and Peyton weren't the only ones waiting for Paige to regain consciousness at the hospital. SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon showed up soon to check on the status of the brand's top star. Paige was already not cleared following SummerSlam, but this would undoubtedly set her back even further, as Shane put it.
Billie: "Will she... will she have to vacate the title?"
Shane: "No. Had she been inactive for more than 30 days because of the Last Diva Standing match, then she would be. But since the brunt of her injuries are from an attack that happened outside of the ring and beyond anyone's control, it wouldn't be ethical to punish her for something like that."
Paige didn't know exactly how to feel. On one hand, she wouldn't have minded giving up the WWE Championship if it meant she could have some time to step back from the ring and evaluate where she's at in her life. On the other hand, she wanted revenge against whoever her attackers are. If she was targeted because she's WWE Champion, then she wouldn't let the title get into the hands of whoever believed they could gain something from her having to vacate the gold.
Shane: "An investigation will be opened to find out who attacked you."
Billie: "Both attackers."
Shane: "Both?"
Peyton: "She said two people attacked her. Not just one like we thought."
Shane: "... Do you have any idea who could've done it?"
Paige: "I didn't see their faces... but it has to be Catch Point, right?"
Shane remained silent, not answering Paige's question immediately.
Paige: "... What? What did I say?"
Shane: "Look, the investigator will search every angle, but as it stands right now, all members of Catch Point have alibis."
Paige, Billie and Peyton were all stunned that the biggest suspects - in their minds at least - were immediately written off.
Paige: "... Are you f*****g joking?"
Shane: "They were holding a press conference outside of Madison Square Garden at the same time the 9-1-1 call was made for you. Maybe they got two people to do their bidding, but none of them were at the scene. If Catch Point is innocent, then do you know who else might have done this?"
Paige didn't want to be cynical and jump to the worst case scenario, but she glanced over to Billie and Peyton. If Catch Point was innocent... could The Iconic Duo have done it? If Billie told Peyton that Paige kissed her before SummerSlam, could they have been driven by feelings of betrayal to the extent that they'd want to harm her?
Paige: "... No, I don't know who could've done it."
She lied to Shane because she wanted to give Billie and Peyton the benefit of the doubt. She didn't want to believe that they could be her attackers.
Shane told Paige that he would try to look into the incident himself, but since this all happened in a city where SmackDown Live, RAW and NXT talent were all present, there was the possibility that the attackers aren't on his brand. He can't interfere with RAW and NXT operations, but a private investigator has no allegiance to a show the way he does. He'll be able to investigate matters to the fullest extent.
Before leaving to Brooklyn, Shane told Paige that the investigator has already been assigned the job and will be meeting with her some time this week. Paige was open to cooperating with the investigation, but knew it was as dangerous as it was beneficial.
Her mind once again began racing, landing at the worst possible scenario every time.
What if Billie and Peyton committed the attack with the intention of framing Catch Point, which is why the two of them were so shocked when they were told that all members of the stable have alibis?
Paige was just about sick to her stomach thinking that this could be happening.
If the attackers are named, she can take matters into her own hands once she's discharged from the hospital. But if her worst nightmare comes true and it's discovered that Billie and Peyton are the attackers, what is she supposed to do?

When I pretend, everything is what I want it to be I look exactly like what you had always wanted to see When I pretend, I can forget about the criminal I am Stealing second after second just 'cause I know I can
But I can't pretend this is the way it'll stay I'm just (trying to bend the truth) I can't pretend I'm who you want me to be So I'm (lying my way from you)
No, no turning back now (I wanna be pushed aside, so, let me go) No, no turning back now (Let me take back my life) (I'd rather be all alone) No turning back now (Anywhere on my own) ('Cause I can see) No, no turning back now (The very worst part of you is me)
I remember what they taught to me Remember condescending talk of who I ought to be Remember listening to all of that and this again So I pretended up a person who was fittin' in
And now you think this person really is me And I'm (trying to bend the truth) But the more I push the more I'm pulling away 'Cause I'm (lying my way from you)
No, no turning back now (I wanna be pushed aside, so, let me go) No, no turning back now (Let me take back my life) (I'd rather be all alone) No turning back now (Anywhere on my own) ('Cause I can see) No, no turning back now (The very worst part of you) (The very worst part of you is me)
This isn't what I wanted to be I never thought that what I said would have you running from me Like this

Tuesday August 19th, 2014 New York City, New York
For what felt like the hundredth time in the span of a day, Paige woke up from a nightmare where she recalled her attack, but this time with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce as the perpetrators. The thought still haunted her. She didn't want to believe they were capable of something like that, but when putting herself in Peyton's position, she could understand why she'd be targeted. She wants to trust them, though. She wants to give them the benefit of the doubt and not believe that it was them. The WWE Champion was still certain that Catch Point attacked her. No other scenario made sense. She didn't care if they had alibis or not. They had to be artificial somehow. She just knew it.
When Paige opened her eyes, she saw a faint figure of somebody sitting next to her bed. The man was shuffling through notes, clicking a pen repeatedly. She was able to open her eyes more, and finally saw exactly who it was.
Condron: "Oh, good. You're awake."
Kevin Condron, the phony psychologist who she assaulted a number of months ago when he tried to manipulate AJ Lee during her psychological exam. Paige was stunned since she was certain that she was never going to see Condron again after outing him in his office.
Paige: "... I thought I told you to f*** off?"
Condron: "You told me to get out of psychology, and I did. Now, I'm a private investigator."
Paige: "Wait... private investigator? You're the one Shane assigned to me."
Condron: "Let me remind you that you had the chance to turn me over to the police when you found out I wasn't a psychologist, but you didn't. Instead, you let me sign off on AJ's paperwork, and the WWE stayed in contact with me. I told them that I was getting out of the field for reasons beyond my control, but was taking up private investigating. AJ's paperwork shows that you and I met with each other, and together, we were able to get her the help she needed. That's not what happened, but that's not what they need to know. All they know is that you and I are friends, so Shane figured that you'd want someone you can trust to look into your case."
Paige: "... But... ... ..."
Condron: "Look, just calm down, okay? This job doesn't pay the same way that psychology did. I don't get paid on the basis of how many people I meet with. I just have one job to do and I'd like to get it done as quickly as I can."
Paige: "Bulls**t. You don't want to help me."
Condron: "And how do you know that? Just because you carry grudges doesn't mean everyone else does. I should be thanking you, actually. Psychology was wearing me down mentally. You don't think that being greedy and preying on mental illness wasn't making me sick myself? I needed to get out of there and you gave me my exit. Now, I have a job that I actually enjoy. So, let's get to work, shall we?"
Paige: "We could... Or, I could just turn you over as a phony this time around."
Condron: "You could, except this time, my credentials aren't fake. I minored in criminology in college, and sometimes, that and good communication skills are all that it takes. I really am a private investigator."
Condron took off his laminated photo ID to let Paige see it for herself. Everything checked out, sadly. Condron was telling the truth about him being a legitimate criminal investigator, and because Paige let her one chance to get him into legal trouble slip away, she had no out this time.
Paige: "Even with all that, you still can't help me. You didn't even know who I was when we met. You know nothing about me or anyone else in WWE to be able to conduct an investigation."
Condron: "You're sort of right. I didn't know anything about WWE back then. After I cleared AJ Lee, WWE sent me a gift box for all of my hard work, and it included a free Network subscription. Who knew that wrestling is literally the best? I do watch the product, Paige. I'm knowledgable now. I know everyone who you've pissed off, and I know everyone who you don't even know you've pissed off. I'm more than capable of conducting this investigation, and I'd really like to get it started quickly."
Condron shuffled to an empty page in his notepad, ready to hold his first interview as part of the investigation.
Condron: "Describe to me your personal account of what happened to you in as much detail as you can."
Paige: "... I was leaving my hotel room yesterday room when two people attacked me."
Condron: "How do you know it was two people?"
Paige: "I could feel two sets of legs. Kicks were coming in from both sides."
Condron: "Just from your own perspective, did you have any immediate guesses as to who attacked you?"
Paige: "I'm convinced it's Catch Point. Shane already told me they have alibis, but I'm not putting anything past them."
Condron: "But you never saw their faces, right?"
Paige: "They put a bag over my head to try suffocating me. I could barely breath let alone see anything."
Condron: "So, you acknowledge that you don't know the genders of your attackers?"
Paige: "... That's right..."
Condron: "So, the attackers could have been females?"
Paige: "... Yeah... they could have..."
Condron: "How long before and after the attack did you see Billie Kay and Peyton Royce?"
Paige knew at that point that Condron was trying to do what the darkest portion of her brain already was and pin the attack on The Iconic Duo.
Paige: "It wasn't them."
Condron: "You just said that you don't know who attacked you."
Paige: "They were the ones who found me. They're innocent."
Condron: "Paige, I do investigating for a living. How stupid do you think I am? I looked at the hospital's visitation records. Billie and Peyton didn't get here until two hours after a 9-1-1 call was made for you by a staff member at the hotel. That two hour gap raises a lot of questions about their whereabouts, doesn't it?"
Paige: "I already told you that I think Catch Point did it!"
Condron: "Paige, I'll interview them because that's my job, but it's a waste of time. You know why? They have f***ing alibis! You know two people who don't? Billie and Peyton!"
Condron realized that at least for right now, Paige wasn't going to be of any help. The most obvious angle for him to search was the one that asked where Billie and Peyton were during the attack, but the WWE Champion just doesn't want to admit that it could have been them.
Condron: "I'll let you know when I have more information to share."
Paige: "It was Catch Point."
Condron: "There's no proof of that and you know it."
Both Paige and Condron remained silent the entire time the latter was packing his belongings into his shoulder bag. Condron exited the room, his first stop being Brooklyn to get depositions from Catch Point just to prove to Paige that they couldn't have possibly attacked her.
What Condron didn't let Paige or anyone else in on was the fact that he's conducting this investigation with a motive already set in place. He does still hold a grudge against Paige for assaulting him in his old office. He wants to get back at her, so he's going to do everything he can to pin the crime on Billie and Peyton. If they are the attackers, he'll prove it. If they're innocent, he'll find a way to frame them. Either way, Condron wants this to end with Paige and The Iconic Duo getting hurt.

Wednesday August 20th, 2014 Brooklyn, New York
Kevin Condron leads the investigation into Paige's attack, but that's not what he cares about. All he wants is to point to The Iconic Duo and say that they're guilty, whether they actually did it or not.
For the most part, Condron has free reign over which superstars he collects depositions from. If he wants to incarcerate Billie Kay and Peyton Royce so badly, the obvious first step would be to interview the two of them and figure out for himself where they were at the time of Paige's attack. However, Condron didn't believe it was worth talking to them since no matter what, they're going to say that they had nothing to do with the attack. Condron would have to play the waiting game to reach a point where he can say that they did it.
Condron's first destination in the investigation was Brooklyn, the site of SmackDown Live tomorrow night. He was headed to a hotel to interview Catch Point, which he knew was pointless. However, WWE management are keeping tabs on his investigation. It would look incredibly suspicious if he didn't question the stable, even though they have alibis. They still could have hired two outsiders to do their dirty work for them. Condron just needed to clear their names, and then, he could move on to interviewing superstars he believed would help his agenda... like Emma.
Emma was Condron's biggest insight into the lives of The Iconic Duo, he felt. Paige acts like she's the person who knows the most about Billie and Peyton, but Emma is their true closest ally. If anybody would know for a fact if Billie and Peyton are capable of committing such an egregious act, it was Emma. Hell, she might even know why they did it, if they are indeed guilty. However, nobody has seen nor heard from Emma since her loss to Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam. It was like she was wiped off the face of the earth. Condron tried reaching out to Emma via phone, e-mail and social media, but she wasn't answering him back.
As long as Emma hides, Condron has to conduct interviews that might be meaningless in the grand scheme of things, like the one with Catch Point members TJ Perkins, CM Punk, Allie and Taynara Conti.
Condron: "Look, I hate to do this. I know you guys are innocent, but I just need to get these depositions to clear everyone's names."
TJP: "Here's a statement you can give WWE about the investigation. I wish that we were the ones who attacked Paige. I'm honestly jealous that other people got to do to her what I've been wanting to. Just the thought of blood rushing from her head..."
Punk: "... Why the f*** are you getting off to this s**t?"
TJP: "Come on, Punk. You don't want revenge against Paige? You're just going to forget that she's the one who took the WWE Title away from you?"
Punk: "Do I want revenge against Paige? Yes, but if I'm going to attack someone, I'm doing it like a man. I'm not sneaking up behind somebody and suffocating them with a bag. That's not my M.O. Maybe it's yours, TJ, but not mine."
TJP: "I think the plan was actually really well executed, so kudos to whoever thought of it because it wasn't us."
Condron: "And you guys didn't hire anyone else to carry out the attack?"
TJP: "Okay, now that I don't agree with. If you want something done right, do it yourself. I'm not the kind of person to send others out to do my bidding, and I think everyone else in Catch Point would agree on that."
Punk nodded his head, denouncing the theory that anyone in their stable had outsiders attack Paige.
Condron asked Allie and Taynara, who were silent up to that point, if they had any insight.
Allie: "We were all at a press conference. I didn't hear about the attack until WWE posted about it on social media. It's like TJ said, and I can't believe I'm agreeing with him on something. We all wish we were the ones who attacked Paige, but the fact of the matter is that it wasn't us."
Taynara: "Nenhum de nós teve nada a ver com o ataque. Nós nem teríamos a chance de ajudar com isso se quiséssemos."
Condron: "I don't... I don't understand what you said."
TJP: "The point is that we didn't have anything to do with it."
Condron: "Where are Gable and Jordan?"
TJP: "Who cares?"
Allie: "They're at the gym right now, and they were with us at the press conference. Or, at least TJ says it was a press conference. It was more like 30 minutes of him shouting at reporters while none of us had the chance to address SummerSlam."
Condron collected Catch Point's statements, writing them down into his notes just to have something to report back to WWE with. As the members were getting ready to escort Condron out of the room, he asked one final question.
Condron: "Do you guys think Billie and Peyton could have attacked Paige?"
All four Catch Point members glanced at each other in confusion.
Punk: "... That makes no sense."
Condron: "... Yeah... it doesn't, right?"
TJP: "Who knows what the hell those two are ever thinking? Maybe they did it. Maybe they didn't. But you want to know something I can say with confidence? They're going to pay. Not for what they might have done to Paige, but for what they've done to us."
Condron thanked Catch Point for their time before standing up from his seat. Just as he was walking out of the room, Allie stopped him.
Allie: "You really want a name to interview?"
Condron: "That would be a big help."
Allie: "Then why don't you ask Becky Lynch how it feels to know that no matter how popular she is, she'll never be bigger than Paige?"
The door was closed in Condron's face. Maybe Allie did raise a good point about a possible motive for Becky, but Condron wasn't interested in her being the culprit. At the same time, he did give thought to the insight that Becky might be able to provide about The Iconic Duo. She's been in the women's locker room on SmackDown Live for months with the both of them. Even before that, she was with them in NXT and at the Performance Center every day. If Emma's not going to answer him back, then Becky could be his next best option at uncovering some sort of dirt on Billie and Peyton.
Condron made his decision. Tomorrow, he's going to Barclays Center to get a deposition from Becky.

August 20th, 2014 | Episode 019 | "The Fallout"
1) MANDY ROSE DEF. MIA YIM after via a double underhook Facebuster. Queen of the Ring participant Mia Yim was given the biggest break of her career yet in Madison Square Garden, but 'The Golden Goddess' Mandy Rose managed to put her down to pick up momentum in NXT's women's division.
EMBER SPARKS A FIRE: Remaining on the subject of the NXT women's division, a recap video was shown for the NXT Women's Championship match TakeOver: MSG. At last, the reign of Nicole Matthews was brought to an end with an Eclipse from the new champion, Ember Moon. However, Nicole will waste no time invoking her rematch clause because next week, Ember will have her first defense of the NXT Women's Title against the former champion.
RICOCHET AND UHAA NATION ARE BACK ON TOP... BUT WHAT DOES 'THE MAHARAJA' HAVE PLANNED?: At this time, an interview with Ricochet and Uhaa Nation conducted at TakeOver following their NXT Tag Team Championship victory aired. When Charly Caruso asked the duo what it means to become the first-ever two-time NXT Tag Team Champions, Ricochet said that it's a feeling they can't describe. "We won these championships the first time almost a year ago in Madison Square Garden, but tonight, this victory was just a little more special." Uhaa then said that coming into the match at TakeOver, not many people didn't give them a fair shot. "And we understand that it isn't necessarily because the NXT Universe didn't think we could get the job done, but they want something else for us. I saw signs out there that thanked us for our time here. We know that there's been speculation about which brand we'd be on after tonight. While Ricochet and I look forward to the day we can walk through the curtain on RAW or SmackDown Live, it's just going to have to wait because we're here to stay in NXT." Following the completion of their interview, another one with Jinder Mahal at the WWE Performance Center yesterday aired because while Ricochet and Uhaa didn't move up to the main roster, Drew McIntyre did. Mahal stated that he respects McIntyre's decision and knows that he'll make Monday Night RAW his own sooner than later. "However, I still have unfinished business here in NXT. I'm not done with Ricochet and Uhaa Nation, and even though I might be inactive right now because of a torn rotator cuff from the Ladder match, I promise that this isn't the end. Ricochet and Uhaa Nation will feel pain, and I'll make sure of it."
THE PROGRESS BRIGADE ROSE, ONLY TO FALL: In another recap video from TakeOver: MSG, the victory for Pete Dunne, Toni Storm, Marty Scurll, Mark Haskins and Will Ospreay over SAnitY was shown. The undefeated streak of the group of anarchists was brought to an end, but the PROGRESS brigade had no time to celebrate as they were laid out by Zack Sabre Jr. The debuting Sabre took a steel chair to each of his fellow United Kingdom competitors before storming out of Madison Square Garden, not providing Charly Caruso with any explanation for his actions.
THE BEGINNING OF THE GLORIOUS ERA, AND THE END OF THE GOLDEN LOVERS: In the final recap video of the evening, the NXT Universe was taken back to Kota Ibushi's victory at TakeOver: MSG over Kenny Omega, The Velveteen Dream, Lars Sullivan and Liv Morgan. This win gave Ibushi entry into the NXT Championship match against Bobby Roode, which he was unsuccessful in. However, Roode's title victory wasn't the main story coming out of TakeOver. It was the shocking betrayal on the part of Omega as 'The Best Bout Machine' viciously assaulted Ibushi. Next week, both Roode and Omega will be at Full Sail University to address the NXT Universe individually about what went down in Madison Square Garden.
2) ANGELICO DEF. MAGNUS after a Razor's Edge Bucklebomb. While Angelico was pulled from the Cruiserweight Classic due to injury, he had the opportunity to make his NXT debut in the middle of Madison Square Garden. Angelico was able to put away Magnus, starting off his NXT career in a big way. "There's no denying Angelico. That man right there is a star and I guarantee that we're going to see big things from him here on NXT," said Michael Schiavello to end the broadcast.

Santana celebrated her win with the Full Sail audience, but must look ahead to her second round match against another beloved participant in Dakota Kai.
2) CHARLOTTE FLAIR DEF. BIANCA BELAIR with Natural Selection. In quite possibly the best match of the first round, Charlotte Flair made her much anticipated debut after a year of training at the WWE Performance. With the pressure of the world on her shoulders, Charlotte was able to withstand a flurry of hair whips from Bianca Belair to retaliate with a Spear. Before Bianca could get to her feet, Charlotte planted her with Natural Selection to pick up the win. Charlotte makes it to the second round, but if she thought Bianca was a formidable foe, she has Candice LeRae to worry about now.

"Get Out" by Circa Survive
I can't get started from the part where I left off yesterday Should've spent my time a little wiser I sat alone guilty as sin waiting for words to come From out of my head still making sense to anyone
I can't wait to understand the reason I have yet to translate Any meaning besides It's not worth it to try Get out
Lock myself up in a room without a window just to see If it was any easier to breathe I was wrong Never underestimate the daylight There it's so much easier to breathe
I can't wait to understand the reason I have yet to translate Any meaning beside It's not worth it to try Get out
There's no meaning besides It's not worth it to try Get out
Thursday August 21st, 2014 Brooklyn, New York
At the end of Catch Point's deposition, Kevin Condron was advised by Allie to investigate Becky Lynch in regard to Paige's attack. Allie's reasoning was because Becky might be jealous of Paige's success on SmackDown Live despite her being the brand's Women's Champion. Condron figured there was no chance of Becky being the assailant, but went ahead with her deposition at ringside in Barclays Center because of the time she's spent with The Iconic Duo in NXT and on SmackDown Live. Becky could speak from experience about Billie Kay and Peyton Royce play the roles of antagonists to a T, and that's all Condron believed he needed to place the blame for the attack on them and hurt Paige even more in the process.
Condron: "Go ahead and state your name and occupation, just for the record."
Becky: "WWE superstar, Becky Lynch. The current SmackDown Women's Champion."
Condron: "You love saying that, don't you?"
Becky: "Damn right I do. I worked hard to make that happen."
Condron: "Harder than anyone else, you think?"
Becky: "I'm not going to say that I've had a more difficult road than others because I know I haven't, but I think I've endured enough crapin my life to have the right to enjoy my title reign."
Condron: "Who's someone who you think has had to deal with more crapthan you?"
Becky: "Well, for starters, I know for a fact that Paige's journey to here is something I could never imagine having to deal with mentally."
Condron: "Do you feel sympathy for her?"
Becky: "Of course."
Condron: "Even though she's the WWE Champion while you're the Women's Champion? That sympathy has never turned into jealousy at any point?"
Becky: "Maybe if it was someone who I didn't know very well. there would be some resentment, but I've known Paige since before either of us got to WWE. She truly deserves every good thing that's happened to her. There's no way I could bring myself to be jealous of her success."
Condron: "It never bothers you? It doesn't bring you down to know that even though you're the leader of the women's division, you're not the woman on SmackDown Live?
Becky: "... Condron, I know you're just doing your job and you have to interrogate everyone. If you want to know where I was when Paige was attacked, I flew to Good Morning America along with RAW Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss. I have an alibi, and so does she. And it's honestly kind of embarrassing on your part that you're interviewing me without having even done research."
Condron wrote down all of Becky's statements sans the last one because it was just an insult toward him. He knew that Becky was innocent, and since he was able to establish that vocally with her, he proceeded with the real reason why he wanted her deposition.
Condron: "Your name is clear, but there are two others who I'm suspicious of and I want to know your opinion."
Becky: "Okay."
Condron: "... Do you think Billie and Peyton did it?"
Becky burst out laughing at Condron's suggestion that The Iconic Duo could have attacked Paige.
Becky: "... Oh, you're serious?"
Condron: "I wouldn't have brought it up if I wasn't."
Becky: "What makes you think they'd even consider something like that?"
Condron: "I mean, they antagonized you, didn't they? You've worked with both of them for over a year now when you combine your time in NXT and on the main roster. You know from experience what they're capable of. They took every chance they could get to take you out in NXT. Their whole 'good girls' act is just that: an act. I think you and I both know that. And besides, they don't have alibis. Nobody knows where they were before or after Paige was attacked. So, I'll ask you. Do you think The Iconic Duo attack Paige?"
Becky: "... The difference between my experiences with Billie and Peyton and those of Paige's is that I didn't save them from AJ Lee. I didn't allow them to get married. Paige did all of that. She came to their rescue when she didn't need to. She's done everything in her power to keep them safe, so do I think they attacked her? No. It doesn't make any sense."
The same phrase that CM Punk uttered yesterday rang in Condron's mind when Becky said it as well. It doesn't make sense for Billie and Peyton to attack Paige.
As Condron was finishing his deposition with Becky, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn were through with their conditioning drills in the ring. Rhodes and Zayn greeted Becky, Condron wondering to himself if it would be worth getting depositions from them. It was unlikely that they attacked Paige, but considering that they're going to be defending the Tag Team Titles against Billie and Peyton tonight, maybe they have some harsh words about the duo that could give Condron the necessary dirt to continue pursuing them.
Condron: "Cody? Sami? Is it okay if I ask you guys a few questions?"
Rhodes: "About Paige's attack?"
Condron: "Yeah. I just want to make sure I clear everyone's names just for records and stuff like that."
Zayn: "What do you want to know?"
Condron: "Where were the two of you on the morning Paige was attacked?"
Rhodes: "I was at a gym nearby."
Zayn: "I was sleeping."
Rhodes: "Of course you were."
Zayn: "You already know this. I'm not as paranoid about my physique as you are."
Rhodes: "I can tell."
Condron couldn't figure out if Rhodes and Zayn's bickering was that of friendly banter, or if they still weren't on the same page despite being the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
Condron: "Can you guys think of anyone who might want to hurt Paige?"
Rhodes: "Catch Point, most likely. They went after us the same time that they tried to stop Paige from cashing-in Money in the Bank."
Condron: "... Paige thought it was them as well, but all of them have alibis."
Zayn: "Then, we're kind of as lost as you seem to be."
Condron: "What are you guys doing on SmackDown tonight?"
Rhodes: "We're defending the Tag Team Titles against The Iconic Duo."
Condron: "Either of you worried about that? I mean, about how vicious Billie and Peyton can be?"
Zayn: "We're approaching this just like any other challenge. We have what they want, so we're going to fight to keep our championships."
Condron: "How dangerous do you think they are?"
Zayn: "Considering the last time we saw them, they put AJ Lee through a glass panel, I'd say they're very dangerous."
Condron: "So... do you guys believe it's possible that they attacked Paige?"
Just like Becky, both Rhodes and Zayn were puzzled as to why Condron would even bring that up as a possibility.
Rhodes: "... That doesn't make any sense."
Condron: "... Yeah... I know."
The depositions from Becky, Rhodes and Zayn were ultimately pointless, Condron thought. He already figured that none of them attacked Paige, but at the very least, he was hoping they could lead him into the direction that would incriminate Billie and Peyton.
Seemingly back to square one, Condron headed to the backstage area in Barclays Center and handed over all of his notes to SmackDown Live Commissioner, Shane McMahon. Before Condron left, Shane said that he was asked by WWE management to let him know that he's been granted permission from the trainers at the Performance Center to take a select group of people out of their usuals training classes to be interviewed.
Over the next week, Condron will be in Orlando getting depositions from NXT superstars.

August 21st, 2014 | Episode 019 | "Bermuda Triangle" SHANE MCMAHON ADDRESS PAIGE'S ATTACK BEFORE ANOTHER SUPERSTAR IS TAKEN OUT: Before SmackDown Live commenced from Brooklyn, Commissioner Shane McMahon addressed the attack on WWE Champion Paige earlier in the week. While Paige will be out for a few weeks to recovery, she will not be stripped of the WWE Title. Shane assured the WWE Universe that an investigation is underway to discover the identity of the attackers, and that's when officials informed Shane that another attack just happened. Shane ran over to the scene to find Solomon Crowe holding a baseball bat over the fallen body of Dean Ambrose, who had blood pouring from his mouth and nose. Shane got in Crowe's face, asking what the hell he was thinking. "Hey, I didn't attack Paige, but I damn sure just took out Dean Ambrose!" Crowe yelled out proudly. Shane ordered Crowe to leave while officials and medics tended to Ambrose.
STILL KICKING LASS: In the Barclays Center, the entrance music of SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch sounded a massive ovation. After retaining her title against Allie in a classic bout at SummerSlam, 'The Irish Lass Kicker' thanked the WWE Universe for sticking by her. "I honestly don't know what I did to deserve all of this. I'm just somebody from Dublin who had this unachievable dream of coming to WWE, but over the last year, you guys helped make that dream achievable. Together, we did the impossible!" Becky screamed while raising the Women's Title, tears forming in her eyes. At that moment, she was interrupted by Allie, who didn't initially appear to be hostile. 'The Queen of Catch' took a microphone and seemed lost in finding her words. She told Becky that she fully expected to show up to SmackDown Live tonight as the new Women's Champion, but instead, it's still Becky who's at the forefront of everything. "I made it clear last week why I wanted to become the SmackDown Women's Champion so badly. This was the validation that I needed. That title was going to let me know that I didn't waste my time battling through depression. I had one goal... and I failed." The somber Allie then told Becky that even though she failed, they were still able to accomplish something that they can be proud of. "We had one of the greatest matches in the history of the women's division. Hell, I think we had one of the greatest matches in the history of WWE altogether! You and I... we're meant to be bitter rivals, and I'm going to make sure things stay that way between us!" Allie then tried to strike Becky, the champion prepared for it. Becky was able to take Allie to the canvas before the latter rolled out of the ring. When Becky tried going after Allie, she took a thumb to her eye. Allie then looked underneath the ring, the fans in Brooklyn assuming she was just going to bring out a normal weapon. Instead, she brought out a tank of gasoline. Allie poured every last drop of gasoline onto Becky before taking a lighter out from her pocket. A sea of officials were able to stop Allie, who screamed at Becky, "Straight fire?!? Why don't you feel straight fire?!?!" Four days after quite possibly stealing the show at SummerSlam, Allie just attempted to set Becky on fire.
1) JOHN CENA DEF. MATT RIDDLE TO RETAIN THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP via the Attitude Adjustment. Cena's Intercontinental Championship open challenge was surprisingly answered by Matt Riddle, an NXT superstar who has officially been signed to SmackDown Live. 'The King of Bros' threw everything he had at Cena, but perhaps the difference maker in this match was that he was unable to apply the Bromission. Cena blocked a knee strike from Riddle, hoisting him up for an Attitude Adjustment to get the victory. Cena shook Riddle's hand post-match, affirming that 'The King of Bros' was a worthy challenger and will make a fine addition to SmackDown Live. However, Cena had unfinished business from SummerSlam to deal with. Cena called out Solomon Crowe, who attacked him at SummerSlam after his match with Jeff Hardy. Still carrying the bat that he used to assault Dean Ambrose, Crowe headed into the ring and told Cena that he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time in Madison Square Garden. "My target was Jeff Hardy because I still have a bone to pick with him. If you were caught in the line of fire... well, that's your problem, John." Cena told Crowe that he intends on getting retribution, and if the 'SmackDown Live Death Machine' wants, he'll put the Intercontinental Title on the line. Crowe accepted before Hardy ran into the ring, trying to get his hands on Crowe. After Crowe stormed out of the ring, Commissioner Shane McMahon walked out onto the stage. While he isn't keen on the idea of Crowe getting a title match, if that's Cena's request, he'll make it official. However, he'll throw in his own twist. Next week, the Intercontinental Championship will be on the line in a Triple Threat match with Cena, Crowe and Hardy.
KURT ANGLE MAKES A HUGE MANIFEST DESTINY ANNOUNCEMENT: In his office, SmackDown Live General Manager Kurt Angle thanked the WWE Universe for welcoming him back into the ring this past Sunday at SummerSlam. Angle stated that while he promised to stay retired, the feeling that ignited in him at SummerSlam is one that he never wants to lose again. "Because of that, I talked things over with Shane McMahon, and even his father, Vince. My in-ring return at SummerSlam was not a one-off because I am officially entering the SmackDown Live block of Manifest Destiny." Angle will be returning for at least 11 matches, and Samoa Joe wasn't too thrilled with the news. 'The Samoan Submission Machine' told Angle that he knew he'd quickly try to make SmackDown Live all about himself. "I'm going to destroy SmackDown from within and make sure that there's no longer a kingdom for you to conquer. What happens next is on you, Kurt," said the cryptic Joe.
2) CHAD GABLE & JASON JORDAN DEF. ADRIAN NEVILLE & TYSON KIDD via Grand Amplitude. After all members of Catch Point suffered losses at SummerSlam, Gable and Jordan managed to pick up some much needed momentum with a win over the first-ever SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
MONDAY NIGHT RAW PREVIEW: With a heavenly yet hellish Universal Championship encounter between AJ Styles and Aleister Black set for Payback, both men are set to address the challenge that awaits them on September 14th. Plus, Alexa Bliss looks to complete the trifecta that Emma once achieved by facing Drake Maverick for the Hardcore Championship. And for the first time since the title's inception, Derrick Bateman is out of the Universal Championship picture. What's the next move for 'The God of the New Era'?
THE RETURN OF THE 619: For the first time in two years, the entrance music of Rey Mysterio sounded during SmackDown. 'The Master of the 619' walked out through the curtain to a warm and welcoming ovation from the Brooklyn crowd. Mysterio made a shocking return to WWE during SummerSlam on Sunday by saving Cruiserweight Champion Johnny Gargano from Andrade 'Cien' Almas. Mysterio took a microphone and stated that when he retired from in-ring competition two years ago, it was so he could spend more time with his family. "Being away from home is the hardest part of what WWE superstars do. Everyone will tell you that. I needed to take a step back and be a father and husband before a professional wrestler for the first time. After two years of being there for my family, we sat down and talked about what I wanted to do because they could tell how much I missed all of this." Mysterio said that his family urged him that if he was looking to continue his in-ring career, they'd support him the entire way. All he needed to do was make one phone call to WWE, and it was no question which brand he wanted to be on. "SmackDown has always been home to me. This is the brand where I started my career, and God willing, this is the brand I'll be able to end my career on with my terms." Mysterio is officially back, but not everyone was excited with the news. Almas' entrance music hit, but only Zelina Vega showed up. Zelina walked into the ring and told Mysterio that if he wants to make an in-ring return, that's fine, but he made the biggest mistake he possibly could have by going after Almas. "Don't get used to standing in this ring because as long as you're around, 'El Idolo' will make you wish that you stayed retired."
WILL THE SMACKDOWN LIVE TAG TEAM DIVISION BECOME ICONIC?: Backstage, Renee Young was standing by with The Iconic Duo, who stated that while SummerSlam was a victorious outing for them, they're still not in the ideal spot mentally. "We're without Paige tonight, but we are promising her right now that tonight, we will become the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions," Peyton Royce said. Billie Kay noted that while Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn are two of the biggest stars on the brand, they beat two other big names on Sunday in CM Punk and TJ Perkins. "Cody and Sami are great... but they're not us. They're not the hottest tag team in all of WWE. That title belongs to us. We are the future... and the future is..." Billie said before she and Peyton shouted, "Iconic!" together.
3) SHEAMUS DEF. KASSIUS OHNO via the Brogue Kick. After the match, Antonio Cesaro helped Ohno up to his feet, only to turn on him by taking him with a running European Uppercut! Ohno stared down at the fallen Ohno before joining Sheamus on the stage, seemingly accepting his previous offer to disband his team with Ohno in favor of one with him.
'THE KING OF BROS' HAS ARRIVED: Tom Philips was standing by backstage with Matt Riddle, who made his SmackDown Live debut earlier tonight against John Cena for the Intercontinental Championship. Riddle stated that even though he came up short, he still got the point across to the WWE Universe as to who 'The King of Bros' is. The strumming a guitar could then be heard as Elias walked into the picture. Riddle nodded his head along with the music, patting Elias on the shoulder before telling him, "Right on, bro!" Elias looked disgusted at Riddle before moving on.
4) CEDRIC ALEXANDER DEF. RODERICK STRONG TO EARN A CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OPPORTUNITY via the Lumbar Check. In a battle between two friends, Alexander had Strong's number, and that pays dividends for him. Next week, Alexander will take on Johnny Gargano for the Cruiserweight Championship.
CODY RHODES AND SAMI ZAYN DON'T BUY THE ICONIC HYPE: After interviewing The Iconic Duo earlier, Renee Young was now with the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn. When asked for their thoughts on Billie Kay and Peyton Royce dedicating tonight's main event to WWE Champion Paige, Rhodes said that it makes tonight bittersweet for them. "We're going into this match to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. In any other situation, we'd support the sentiment on the part of The Iconic Duo... but, it just so happens that they're facing us." Zayn then said that he hopes Billie and Peyton can get their heads in the right frame of mind. "Take nothing away from them. The fact that they're even here tonight after everything they've endured since Sunday speaks volumes to their characters. But, like Cody said, we just happen to be the ones that they're after, so we're going to fight to keep these SmackDown Tag Team Titles, just like we hope they're going fight us with every last fiber of their beings to take them away."
5) CODY RHODES & SAMI ZAYN VS. THE ICONIC DUO FOR THE SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS ENDED IN A NO CONTEST when CM Punk and TJ Perkins attacked both teams. An incredible main event on SmackDown Live was ruined when Catch Point laid waste to Rhodes, Zayn, Billie and Peyton. For Punk and TJP, this wasn't just revenge against The Iconic Duo for their loss at SummerSlam. This was a reminder to Rhodes and Zayn that they're still in their crosshairs coming out of the summer. Standing tall in the ring, Punk and TJP took the SmackDown Tag Team Titles because if that's what Rhodes, Zayn, Billie and Peyton are fighting for, then they want the championships for no reason other than so their foes can't have them.

"Bad Behavior" by The Maine
"I never wanna be a distraction," You say as you're unashamed and naked. I feel okay all over, Void of all composure.
And I know this may sound narcissistic, I like the lips you kiss with. But I wanna wear your lipstick, 'Cause it means I got to kiss them.
You say you like the sound of cigarettes after sex and I say, "Yeah, yeah, yeah."
One, two hits, Her lips and bad behavior, I'm in danger. Yeah, yeah Three-four AM, The feeling's getting stranger, I'm in danger Bad behavior
And I don't have time for your feelings You tell me, You're insecure, But don't be, Stay soft, but don't be gentle, It's altogether mental.
Let's go to a place where we can forget, We haven't left the room yet. You eloquently stated, Leaving's overrated.
You say, You say you like the sound of cigarettes after sex and I say, "Yeah, yeah, yeah."
One, two hits, Her lips and bad behavior, I'm in danger. Yeah, yeah Three-four AM, The feeling's getting stranger, I'm in danger.
I wanna inhale you in small doses but adore you like the roses, You're bad for me, yeah, But you're bad for me, yeah.
You medicate me with your poses I'm a lush. I know you notice You're bad for me, yeah, But you're bad for me, yeah
You're bad for me, yeah
And I say, "Yeah, yeah, yeah."
One, two hits, Her lips and bad behavior, I'm in danger. Yeah, yeah Oh here we go again, Hope it don't lose its flavour, And I'm in danger Yeah, I'm in danger
I think I know you're bad for me I know you're bad for me.
Monday August 25th, 2014 Orlando, Florida
One week had passed since WWE Champion Paige was attacked by two unknown assailants who Kevin Condron is supposed to be looking for. Condron's real motive in all of this is to find a way to pin the blame on Billie Kay and Peyton Royce in order to get revenge on Paige for outing him as a phony psychologist a number of months ago. Condron still holds his grudge, and he's now in a position where he actually holds more power over Paige and her future than she does herself.
After clearing the names of Catch Point, Becky Lynch, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn last week, Condron has been ordered by WWE to go to the Performance Center and get depositions from a select few NXT superstars who were marked by the PC's staff as raising "red flags" in terms of suspicion. It didn't make sense to Condron why anyone in NXT would attack Paige, but since the PC used to be home to Billie and Peyton, he was hoping that interviewing some talent would point him into the direction he was looking for. Only one name on the list he was given spent time in NXT with The Iconic Duo, so she was Condron's first request.
Condron walked into the PC and was directed to Dusty Rhodes' office. Dusty was currently conducting his promo class at the time, allowing Condron the free space in his office to hold his first deposition of the week. When Condron opened the door to Dusty's office, he found his first NXT interviewee, Liv Morgan. What Condron was caught off guard by was the fact that Liv was standing on her chair, blaring her new theme song - "Bad Behavior" by The Maine - from her phone. She raised her arms and lip synced, and even when she noticed Condron, she wasn't embarrassed or anything like that.
Condron took his seat at Dusty's desk, taking out his notepad to write down any details from Liv that could help "solve" the case.
Condron: "I assume that you know why I'm here?"
Liv: "No, but this takes me back."
Condron: "... How does this 'take you back'?"
Liv: "I used to get called into the principal's office kind of frequently. I was a problem child, or so my family says."
Condron: "... Do you think that's true."
Liv: "I don't know. Probably."
Condron: "... What are you eating?"
Liv: "Jolly Rancher."
Condron: "Why?"
Liv: "So, like, I ate one before a show one time and I looked into the mirror and was like, 'Oh, crap. My tongue is blue.' I went out there, wrestled with a blue ass tongue and no one said anything about it. So, I just kept on doing it and now, I don't even feel like myself if I don't have a blue tongue."
Condron: "... Anyways, I'm here because last week, Paige was attacked."
Liv: "I know! I heard! I hope she's alright."
Condron: "She'll be fine, but we still don't know who attacked her or why. That's where I come in. I'm a private investigator who's been hired by WWE to look into this case and uncover the truth."
Liv: "... Okay, but, like, why do you need to interview me?"
Condron: "Well, it's because you're a suspect."
Liv's mouth opened in shock wide enough for her Jolly Rancher to fall onto the floor.
Liv: "... You.... you think I attacked Paige?"
Condron: "No, but your behavior was alarming enough for it to be suggested that I investigate you. And you were in the area at the time of the attack."
Liv: "I'm... I'm hurt. I can't believe someone thinks I could've attacked Paige! She's like a mother to me!"
Condron: "You're two years younger than her."
Liv: "I wouldn't be who I am today without Paige. She's empowered me! She's inspired me!"
Condron: "Have you ever even met her?"
Liv: "Paige is, like, the f***ing coolest chick ever. The reason I stepped up to Lars Sullivan was because I told myself that if Paige could become WWE Champion, then I could do anything. And look where that got me. I wrestled Lars, Omega, Ibushi and Dream in Madison Square Garden!"
Condron: "Look, I never said that I was accusing you of anything. I'm just going off of the documents I was given."
Liv: "F**k your documents, bro. Besides, Paige was attacked by two people. Who would've been the other person if one of them was me?"
Condron: "That's what I was trying to figure out."
Liv finally realized that she didn't have the Jolly Rancher in her mouth anymore. She picked up off the ground after far more than five seconds and started eating it again.
Condron: "What's wrong with you?"
Liv: "S**t, how much time you got?"
Condron: "I'm just saying. I've worked with some f***ing weirdos in this line of work, but you're really out there."
Liv: "I guess if you want someone to blame, you can start with my parents, my teachers, Alexa Bliss, my pet pig, and tumblr stans."
Condron: "... What did Alexa Bliss do to you?"
Liv: "So, last year, she did some interview on WWE.com and talked about the original Last Diva Standing match. She said that all of the girls in NXT watched the match together, which was true. She said that we were scared s**tless, which is also true. But that chick... that f***ing chick had the nerve to put me on blast and tell the whole world that I walked up to her in the Performance Center and said that I feared for my life in WWE! After that, I was known on the NXT loops as the girl who was too scared to wrestle. Nah, f*** that. I ain't a p***y! I took that humiliation and turned it into a Goddamn vibe! Now, I don't got a single care in the world! I'll put my body through anything and everything because Alexa taught me how to crawl and Paige taught me how to walk the f***ing walk!"
Condron pretended to write everything Liv was saying into his notes, but the only thought her gathered was that she's crazy.
Condron: "If it makes you feel any better, I know that you're reckless. That's why I'm interviewing you and not anyone else in 423-GET-FAME."
Liv: "You don't think they could've done it?"
Condron: "Famous B and The Lucha Dragons don't have the balls to pull off something like an attack on the WWE Champion."
Liv: "True. Then, what about Dream?
Condron: "Dream is... special. He's very over-the-top. He wants everything he does to be put on display. If he were to attack Paige, he wouldn't have been inconspicuous about it. He would've wanted the whole world to know about it."
Liv: "... Yeah, none of them did it. And I didn't either, so I can't help you out much more."
Condron: "That's fine. I'll cross your name off the list of suspects... although, I do have one question for you."
Liv: "What's up?"
Condron: "You were here in NXT with The Iconic Duo, right?"
Liv: "Yeah, I worked with them a couple of times."
Condron: "What do you think of them."
Liv: "Honestly, they're low key bitches."
Condron: "So, do you think they could've attacked Paige?"
Liv: "... Why would they have attacked Paige?"
Condron: "You just said they're bitches, no?"
Liv: "Yeah, to everyone except for Paige. If you really think they attacked Paige, then I'd love to see you try and make that connection because it doesn't make any sense."
Just like everyone else, Liv told Condron the same exact phrase. Iconic Duo attacking Paige doesn't make sense.

August 25th, 2014 | Episode 020 | "What's That Metronome I Hear?" AJ STYLES TAKES OFFENSE TO MUSTAFA ALI'S USE OF THE LORD'S NAME: At the start of Monday Night RAW, Mustafa Ali was shown in the locker room when Sofia Cortez approached him from behind, patting him on his shoulder. "Jesus Christ," Ali said since he had his headphones on and didn't even hear Sofia walk in, startling him. Sofia told Ali that she still wasn't entirely sold on the idea of them gunning for the RAW Tag Team Championships, but if he thinks they have a real shot, then she'll give it a chance. Ali and Sofia were then interrupted by the Universal Champion AJ Styles, who demanded that Ali apologize for what he said. "... What did I say?" Ali asked, which only further angered Styles. "Don't act like you didn't just use MY lord's name in vain! How DARE you?!?" shouted Styles, Sofia telling him to calm down. Styles told Sofia that if she's taking Ali's side, then she's just as guilty as he is. "If you're not going to apologize, then I'll see you in the ring tonight and show you what happens when you refuse to show any respect to God!" Styles said to Ali before leaving.
1) DREW MCINTYRE DEF. R-TRUTH with a Claymore Kick. In a rematch from last week, McIntyre was once again able to make short work of Truth before taking a microphone. 'The Scottish Psychopath' said that he didn't come to Monday Night RAW to be subjected to weak, unequipped challengers like Truth. McIntyre issued an open challenge, hoping for someone he deemed worthy to answer.
2) DREW MCINTYRE DEF. HEATH SLATER with a Claymore Kick. McIntyre encountered his former 3MB stablemate, and just like he did to Truth, McIntyre ran right through Slater. Irate over not being given a challenge, McIntyre sat in a chair in the center of the ring and told a "story" to the WWE Universe. McIntyre stated that when he was sent back down to NXT last year, he took it as a slap to his face. "Five years ago, Mr. McMahon handpicked me as 'The Chosen One' and all of his promises of main event slots and World Championships turned out to be lies. As quickly as I rose, I plummeted all the way to the bottom. No one cared about Drew McIntyre anymore. Everyone lost their faith in me to become a top superstar, and you know what? So did I. But, there was one man who was in my same position and unlike me, he didn't take 'no' for an answer. A man who took this company hostage and ended up becoming the first-ever Universal Champion as a result. Derrick Bateman gave hope to superstars like me who thought that all hope was lost. Bateman's influence led the way for me to become an NXT Tag Team Champion, get my name out there again and bring me back to Monday Night RAW. But... now that I'm here, there's no need for Bateman anymore. He's served his purpose. RAW doesn't need Bateman to be its 'God' because I'm taking his throne." McIntyre said that he'll be the one to put Bateman out of his misery that he's found himself in since SummerSlam, and he wants to do it tonight.
3) BUDDY MURPHY DEF. DRAKE MAVERICK & RAW WOMEN'S CHAMPION ALEXA BLISS TO WIN THE HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP via Murphy's Law to Maverick. The match was originally just a one-on-one encounter between Maverick and Alexa, but because of the Hardcore Championship's 24/7 rule, Murphy was able to interject himself into the contest. When Maverick fell victim to Murphy's Law, that allowed 'The Juggernaut' to cover him and become the new Hardcore Champion. If Alexa wants to complete Emma's trifecta, she now has to go through her ex-fiancee in order to win the Hardcore Title.
DERRICK BATEMAN CATCHES WIND OF DREW MCINTYRE'S CHALLENGE: In the parking lot area, Derrick Bateman was shown finally arriving to the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Renee Young approached Bateman, asking if he had an answer for Drew McIntyre's challenge. Bateman was seemingly out of the loop since he had no idea what Renee was talking about. Renee informed him that McIntyre said that since he's on RAW now, Bateman has no use anymore as the brand's 'God' and he wants to force him out. Bateman laughed to himself, saying that McIntyre's only relevant today because he gave him the motivation to resurge his career. "And Drew McIntyre has the gall to say that he's going to remove me from the top of Monday Night RAW? I may not be the Universal Champion anymore, but I am STILL the most dangerous man on this roster. While I was carving my name into the top one percent of the industry, McIntyre was looking for hands to help him out of the bottom percentile. If he wants to beat me out of RAW, then I'd love to see him try," Bateman said, accepting McIntyre's challenge for tonight.
ALEISTER BLACK ISN'T AFRAID OF ANY MAN OR GOD: A video package was shown to not only highlight Aleister Black's tenure on RAW up to this point, but to also give the WWE Universe a closer look into his very sheltered personal life. "When rising through the ranks, my biggest obstacle was never anything tangible. It was always my own mentally. Depression has and will always be my most formidable foe, but for all of the bad days, there are days like last Monday," Aleister before the video recapped his win over Derrick Bateman to earn a Universal Championship match at Payback. "I don't think AJ Styles is weak for choosing to believe in God. I think he's weak for using God as his crutch. Styles needed something to give him guidance ever since he failed at ending The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, and just like many others, he's using religion to place himself on a pedestal above the rest of us. That mentality has worked for him against certain superstars, but at Payback, he's going to learn the hard way that not even the idea of God can save him from fading to black."
4) RANDY ORTON DEF. MATANZA CUETO via RKO. While there is some tension in The Wyatt Tribe ever since all three failed in Aztec Warfare at SummerSlam, Orton managed to steer the group back into the right direction with an emphatic win over Matanza Cueto. On the stage afterwards, Orton stared down Bray Wyatt, Pentagon and Maxine, his eyes telling them that he did his part, and now, it's their turn to bring the Tribe back to its winning ways. In the ring, Matanza was slowly getting to his feet before he was ambushed by The Miz. Looking for revenge after his Miz TV set was destroyed last week, Miz was able to plant Matanza with the Skull Crushing Finale.
ALEXA BLISS DEMANDS ANOTHER HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: In Dario Cueto's office, the RAW General Manager watched the broadcast shamefully as his brother was laid out by The Miz. Alexa Bliss then suddenly walked into the office, demanding a Hardcore Championship match against Buddy Murphy. Dario reminded Alexa about the 24/7 rule, so he wasn't sure why she felt the need to ask for a title shot. "Because I don't want this match in just any environment. I want it with the world watching. I want to humiliate Buddy Murphy on a big stage because that's what he deserves." Alexa asked for the match to take place at Payback, an idea that Dario signed off on.
THE UNDISPUTED ERA MEMBERS MAKE THEIR INTENTIONS CLEAR: Backstage, The Undisputed ERA was shown hanging out by the interview set, their theme song playing in the background for no clear reason. Adam Cole stated that ever since Aztec Warfare, it's obvious that Finn Balor has become the thorn in the side of The Undisputed ERA. That's going to be settled tonight when Bobby Fish defeats him, and after that, the three of them have their sights set on new challengers. "Let's be real, everyone. How well do Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman really get along?" asked Kyle O'Reilly. "Sooner than later, they're going to implode, and that's when a well-oiled machine like The Undisputed ERA will swoop in and become the new RAW Tag Team Champions."
5) UNIVERSAL CHAMPION AJ STYLES DEF. MUSTAFA ALI IN A NON-TITLE MATCH via the Styles Clash. While Styles believed that he was servicing God with this match, Ali caught the Universal Champion by surprise with an incredible competitive match. The difference maker came when Styles got his knees up on an 054 attempt, transitioning into the Styles Clash. Post-match, Styles said that it's evident that nobody on Monday Night RAW needs to be saved by God more than Aleister Black. "I could hear the despair in your voice, Aleister. And as long as you keep resenting God, your life is going to suck. The bout of depression that you talked about earlier? That's God's way of letting you know that there are consequences for disobeying the gospel. God gave you depression to get the message across, but it's not too late to be saved. He still wants you to join him in the kingdom of Heaven. Next week, I ask that you, Aleister, join me in this ring to give your life to God almighty and allow me to baptize you."
6) UNITED STATES CHAMPION SETH ROLLINS DEF. DANIEL BRYAN IN A NON-TITLE MATCH VIA DISQUALIFICATION after Kevin Owens attacked Rollins. Bryan and Rollins engaged in a rematch from last year's SummerSlam, only to have the bout be interrupted by Owens. 'The Prizefighter' was able to plant Rollins with the Pop-Up Powerbomb, hoisting the United States Championship to tell 'The Architect' that he wants to take it from him after costing him the Universal Championship in Aztec Warfare. That's when Bryan drilled Owens with the Busaiku Knee. Bryan picked up the United States Title, the sea of WWE Universe members chanting "Yes!" at the idea of Bryan setting his sights back on the championship that he risked his career for at WrestleMania.
SEN REGIEREN HAVE ARRIVED: In a dark, foggy room backstage, the team of Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe - Sen Regieren - were shown. Dain stated that he and Wolfe believed it was finally the right time for them to show themselves on Monday Night RAW, and The Revival just happened to be in the wrong place when they did. "Scott Dawson... Dash Wilder... this isn't anything personal... we just can't help ourselves when chaos and destruction are presented to us!" screamed the crazed Wolfe. Sen Regieren are here on RAW, and they're daring The Revival to try their hand at revenge.
SMACKDOWN LIVE PREVIEW: The Intercontinental Championship will be on the line in a Triple Threat match when John Cena defends against Jeff Hardy and Solomon Crowe. Plus, Johnny Gargano puts the Cruiserweight Championship on the line against Cedric Alexander. With the main event of Unforgiven set in the form of a Triangle Ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, what are the reactions of Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, CM Punk, TJ Perkins, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce?
7) FINN BALOR DEF. BOBBY FISH via Coup De Grace. After Balor bested Fish, he was ambushed by Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly. The Undisputed ERA beat down Balor until Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman made the save, the RAW Tag Team Champions having heard the trio's challenge earlier tonight loud and clear. Cole, O'Reilly and Fish shed their cocky demeanors the second that Reigns and Strowman were actually standing across from them. The RAW Tag Team Champions assisted Balor up to his feet, the three of them drawing the battle line against The Undisputed ERA.
SASHA BANKS CALLS OUT ALEXA BLISS, AND A SURPRISE DEBUT SHOCKS THE WWE UNIVERSE: Prior to the start of the main event, Sasha Banks headed into the ring unannounced. 'The Boss' was clearly irate that even after making it clear last week that she wants the RAW Women's Championship, Alexa Bliss still had yet to answer. "I get it, Alexa, because I'd be scared of facing someone who is a million times the wrestler I'll ever be, too," Sasha stated, trying to get underneath the skin of 'The Goddess'. Alexa finally confronted Sasha, telling 'The Boss' that she's been through more hell in the past few months that Sasha could ever imagine. "The fact that you think I'm afraid of you after everything that's happened to me is laughable, Sasha. You want a title shot? You want to prove that you're the one who runs this division that I've spent the last year conquering? Then meet me in this ring at Payback and you can have it. I don't care if I already have a match against Buddy Murphy. I'll still show you why no matter how talented you are, you'll never be on my level." Alexa might be getting ahead of herself as she just agreed to pull double duty at Payback. Alexa was about to leave the ring when Sasha struck her from behind. Sasha beat Alexa down, trying to send a message to the RAW Women's Champion. Soon, a familiar entrance music sounded as Sasha immediately back against the ropes. Bayley finally made her RAW debut, Sasha looking as if she had seen a ghost, which she pretty much was since she thought she put Bayley behind her after their encounters in NXT last year. Bayley ran into the ring, standing in between Sasha and Alexa. Bayley helped Alexa to her feet, continuing to glare at Sasha. Suddenly, her demeanor changed and she smiled at 'The Boss'. That's when Bayley grabbed Alexa, planting her with a Bayley-to-Belly! "What the hell did Bayley just do?!" Mauro Ranallo shouted on commentary. Bayley stared at the fallen Alexa while the WWE Universe watched in shock. Even Sasha was stunned before she had her arm raised by Bayley. Once bitter enemies, a new partnership has been formed between Sasha and Bayley, and the two want to make sure that Alexa no longer stands on top of the RAW women's division.
8) DREW MCINTYRE DEF. DERRICK BATEMAN via referee stoppage. "Surreal" might be the only way to describe this main event. Bateman and McIntyre clashed like the titans that they are, but after the first Claymore Kick to Bateman, he never regained control of the match. McIntyre continuously beat him down to the point where Bateman was crawling to the ropes just so he could stand back up. "I'm honestly shocked. I... I can't believe what we're seeing," Corey Graves stated when Bateman, who was now bleeding from his forehead, couldn't even maintain a vertical base. Bateman, the superstar who has beaten names like AJ Styles, Paige, John Cena and Brock Lesnar over the past year, was being decimated by McIntyre, somebody who the WWE Universe looked at as a joke not that long ago. When McIntyre connected with his third Claymore Kick, the official stopped the match. Bateman was laid out in the center of the ring, officials tending to him while McIntyre placed one foot on the chest of Bateman. McIntyre said that he was going to become RAW's new 'God' here tonight, and after beating Bateman in a way that no one ever has, he may have just done that.

WILLIAM REGAL ANNOUNCES THE INAUGURAL UNITED KINGDOM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: At the start of NXT, Commissioner William Regal was shown in his office. Regal said that while TakeOver: MSG has come and gone, Unison is quickly approaching. He reminded the NXT Universe about the WWE United Kingdom Championship and the Six Way Ladder match to determine the inaugural. Five of the six participants will be the team that assembled in Madison Square Garden to end SAnitY’s undefeated streak: Pete Dunne, Marty Scurll, Will Ospreay, Mark Haskins and Toni Storm. The sixth and final spot will go to the superstar who laid out all five aforementioned superstars in his NXT debut, Zack Sabre Jr.
NXT IS GLORIOUS: In the Full Sail Arena, Bobby Roode made his first entrance as the new NXT Champion. ‘The Glorious One’ fulfilled his promise to turn his career around and seize NXT’s most coveted prize in Madison Square Garden. Roode took a microphone and gloated with the title, repeatedly saying, “I told you so!” to the audience that booed him. Roode stated that after winning the Unique Opportunity Battle Royal at WrestleMania, free agency wasn’t his honor. It was RAW and SmackDown Live’s. An honor that they took for granted and allowed the single biggest name in the industry today to jump ship to NXT. “Look at the landscape of champions right now. SmackDown has a crazed stuntwoman, and RAW has a Jesus freak. One wants to preach everyone to death, and the other wants to beat everyone to death. NXT is the ONLY brand with a true-at-heart professional wrestler at its core!” Roode said that since he finally has what he came here for, NXT will finally be truly… “Glorious!”
1) ANGELICO DEF. JOHN MORRISON via a Crucifix Buckle Bomb. After making a successful debut in Madison Square Garden last week, Angelico was able to stun the NXT Universe with a massive win over a former Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion in John Morrison. Angelico continues pick up momentum, or as Michael Schiavello put it, “Momentum that can take this young man to the NXT Championship quicker than anyone before him.”
FAMOUS B SETS 423-GET-FAME ON A COLLISION COURSE AGAINST EACH OTHER: At this time, all members of 423-GET-FAME headed down to the ring, Velveteen Dream and Liv Morgan being favored by the audience over their stablemates after engaging in one of NXT’s hardest hitting match-ups against Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi and Lars Sullivan at TakeOver: MSG. Famous B said that while 423-GET-FAME was unable to capture the NXT Championship in New York City, he isn’t taking his eyes off of gold anytime soon. That’s why he spoke with William Regal and Portia Perez to organize an NXT Tag Team Championship number one contenders match. The Lucha Dragons applauded the announcement, figuring they’d be the ones representing 423-GET-FAME in this match. Famous B announced that in one corner, it’ll indeed be Kalisto and Fenix. “In the other corner to oppose The Lucha Dragons, one of the most unlikely duos imaginable. A team containing two people who not too long ago were beating each other to a pulp in this ring. How was I able to pull this off? Because I’m Famous B, and I can make anyone famous. For a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships, it’s going to be Fenix and Kalisto versus… Liv Morgan and The Velveteen Dream!"
2) THE VELVETEEN DREAM & LIV MORGAN DEF. THE LUCHA DRAGONS IN A NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH via the Purple Rainmaker to Kalisto. To the shock of The Lucha Dragons, Famous B pitted them against their own stablemates in 423-GET-FAME. Dream and Liv were also caught off guard by the announcement, but the two managed to put their differences from TakeOver: MSG to the side to pull off what can be considered an upset. After Liv Moonsaulted off the ring apron onto Fenix, Dream put Kalisto away with the Purple Rainmaker. Famous B raised the hands of Dream and Liv, who will now meet Ricochet and Uhaa Nation next week for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
NXT BIDS FAREWELL TO THE KING OF BROS: Footage was shown from the WWE Performance Center of Matt Riddle cleaning out his locker since ‘The King of Bros’ has officially signed with SmackDown Live. The camera man asked Riddle how it feels to be leaving NXT, and he described it as “bittersweet.” “Obviously, you get into this business to one day be on RAW or SmackDown, but I enjoyed my time here in NXT. I enjoyed the challenge of having to prove myself as more than just an ex-UFC guy who got a spot on Tough Enough. I’d like to think I did a good job at getting the WWE Universe on my side, otherwise, they wouldn’t have welcomed me to SmackDown the way they did.” When asked what Riddle’s goals are on Team Blue, he made it clear that he wants to become WWE Champion. “I’ll fight Paige. I’ll fight Catch Point. I’ll fight John Cena again. I’ll go through whoever I need to because someday, Team Blue is going to become Team Bro.” Riddle closed his locker, metaphorically closing the chapter of NXT in his life.
KENNY OMEGA CHOOSES TO KEEP HIS SILENCE: Back in the Full Sail Arena, Kenny Omega’s entrance music sounded to a negative response for the first time. Overwhelmingly negative for that matter as it appeared not a single person was on his side after TakeOver: MSG ended with him betraying Kota Ibushi. Omega stepped into the ring and took a microphone, waiting for the audience members to silence before speaking. That never happened as every single fan in attendance continued to boo Omega as loudly as they could. Chants of, “Kenny sucks!” and “Ibushi!” filled the atmosphere for what felt like an eternity. When Omega would even so much as lift the microphone toward his face, the fans booed even louder. Finally, Omega put the microphone down and left the ring to his first positive response of the night. Omega won’t give an answer as to why he attacked Ibushi in Madison Square Garden.
BOBBY ROODE’S FIRST CHALLENGER WILL BE DECIDED: A graphic was shown to promote a 15 superstar Battle Royal in two weeks with the winner going on to Unison to challenge Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship.
3) EMBER MOON DEF. NICOLE MATTHEWS TO RETAIN THE NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP via the Eclipse. The first time since her title victory over Emma where Nicole Matthews is challenging for the NXT Women's Championship, but just like in Madison Square Garden, it was an Eclipse from Ember that once again spelled the end for Nicole. Post-match, Ember celebrated with the NXT Women's Title while Nicole sat in the center of the ring, her hands on her head. She didn't know what to do now or where to go from here. As far as Nicole knew it, this was the end of the road for her. She lost her contracted rematch for the championship that her life has revolved around for all of 2014. When Ember was about to leave the ring, Nicole pulled her back down to the canvas and started unloading with strikes. Even the officials who tried to intervene were attacked by Nicole, who never let Ember out of her sights. Nicole picked up the NXT Women's Title and stalked Ember with it before General Manager Portia Perez headed into the ring to try reasoning with her best friend. Portia's words were unsuccessful, and Nicole ended up leveling her with the championship! When Ember turned around, Nicole did the same to her. Officials, Ember and Portia were all laid out as the deranged Nicole held the NXT Women's Championship in her hands, refusing to let this be the end of her championship aspirations.
