That is exactly what I am talking about. You are punishing a better team because you enjoyed it more when you were younger, and the other teams in the division were "so much better." Also, each teams popularity was taken into consideration in my vote. I think it's actually pretty debatable which team was more popular, given that DX was the second biggest face draw on the entire WWF card at the time behind Austin. And wrestling was at the peak of it's popularity and social acceptability from 98-01. So you are essentially saying, that because Demolition was a more popular gimmick, at least in your mind, that Axe and Smash are the greatest tag team champions of all time? I am going to say that there isn't anything Demolition did better than the NAO, from ringwork, to draw power, to being entertaining, and base my vote off of that. Voting on nostalgia is really cool and all but I don't agree with it. Just because it was good when I was 6 doesn't make it good in 2012. That is how I see it anyway. I'm not punishing a "better" team because it is all a matter of opinion on who was the best. You make a strong case for the Outlaws. I just don't agree with it and apparently neither does several others who have taken this poll. I only brought up Demolition's popularity, because to me, your first post seemed to insinuate that workrate was the only thing that should matter when debating this topic. My vote was for the team I found to be great champions during an era, in my opinion, when tag team wrestling was at its best in WWE. The Outlaws were an awesome team, but there was very little emphasis placed on tag team wrestling in the late 90's and that is a fact. There were less than 5 established teams at any given time. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn wrestled nearly as many single matches during this time as they did tag matches. Both of them had runs with single titles while they were still considered a team. The overall differences in the state of tag team wrestling between the two time periods the teams are from is one of the main reasons I voted for Demolition. In my opinion, the nostalgia argument could be applied to anyone voting in this poll, including yourself. Clearly you are a bigger fan of the Oulaws than you are of Demolition, and whether you want to admit it or not, that probably played a major part in your decision to vote for them. When dealing with wrestlers or teams from the past, it is only natural to choose the one that you have the fondest memories of or that you liked the most. Touche. Agreed to disagree. I agree with that second paragraph, a lot, I just feel like tag teams that came after that time period don't get held in the same regard because they didn't work during that time. Which is understandable I suppose. I love tag team wrestling, I wish teams would have been taken that seriously as time marched on.

^And that is why I enjoy the Classic board! We can debate a topic, without the name calling and other crap that goes down on the WWE board, and if we don't agree that is fine.
I totally get what you're saying about teams from the 90's not getting the praise they deserve because they weren't around during the golden age of tag team wrestling in the WWF. You are probably 100% correct. If the Outlaws had been around during this period, it is very possible they would be held in even higher regard than they already are.
I also wish that tag team wrestling would have continued to be taken seriously. Maybe one of these days, someone will finally wake up and realize what a benefit a flourishing tag team division could be to the company.

I always felt that TNA, while smaller and less impressive production wise, always did a good job over time giving us incredible tag teams and match ups. Unfortunately, even they have let that fall to the wayside. ROH has held really steady with the Briscoes, WGTT, and American Wolves who have been together through a pair of World Title reigns, same for the KoW before they signed with WWE. Trying to find good tag team wrestling in modern day pro wrestling has become hard work and it's really sad imo.

when I was travelling through the Summerlsmas 88-03 watching the tag title matches I noticed a staggering abandonment of the tag title(not news to anyone by any means).
it wasnt featured on Summerslam 94,95 or 97.....and between Summerslam 96 and 98 it had 15 minutes.

No question Demolition. New Age Outlaws aren't even a top 10 Tag Team all time....well, they might squeeze in the bottom if its just WWF teams.
