I'm a Pizza Delivery Guy. If I didn't get tips, I wouldn't be able to support myself and my wife. Minimum wage here in AZ was just raised to $7.65 at the start of the year. I make $5.50/hr. If I don't leave the store with 40-50$ each night, I'm not happy. Yes, they're tips, but think about this; Especially at night, when you call, who takes your order? Me. Who makes it? Me. Who delivers it? Me. Yeah, that's my job. But, who pays for gas to get to your house? Me. Who has to cover the cost of repairs when my car dies? Me. New tires? Me again. Do you really think that can be covered on $5.50 an hour? When an average shift is only 6 hours? Nope, don't think so. To all of you that tip, thank you. To those who tip what you can, thank you. To those who don't because you feel I'm getting paid to do my job; do my job, don't get tipped, and then return with the same high horse attitude. I promise it won't happen. I hold delivery drivers in a completely different regard than I do servers at a dine in place. Not that one's any better than the other, but I NEVER not tip the delivery guy. Even if I have to write it on the receipt and he doesn't get it until his check comes in, I still always tip the delivery guy. These are people, who by the sheer nature of their job, I feel deserve to be tipped just for showing up to your door.

I hate that people look at tipping as a requirement. It isn't supposed to be. I only tip workers who go above and beyond their expectations. Other than that, you're already getting paid to do your job.

Once I had some A hole delivery guy call me and tell me he was outside. So I said, oh cool I'll be right there (referring to the door). So I watch this guy sit in his car a min. Then he calls me back, im outside. So I say cool, come on up. He looks back at my door and waits. The another call, im outside. So I say, ok bring it to the door. To which he responded come out and get it. WOW did that piss me off. Never before or since did I have a delivery guy want me to go to his car. So please, if your a delivery guy, do your F'n job and deliver that food to a persons door.

They asked me to pay for the pizza, to which I replied that I didnt want a pizza that had been sitting outside of my house getting cold for 10 mins. At that point I was told not to order from there again. This was a pizza place from which I ordered from often. But once I saw how crap there customer service was I never went back.

I'm a notoriously high tipper. I'm pretty much guaranteed to tip you 3 bucks, no matter what. Even if my bill is like 8-10 bucks, you'll still get at least 3 bucks. From there, I go up a bit by percentage and how personable the server is.

This is the most ridiculous thread I've ever seen, everyone is acting like not tipping/leaving a shitty tip is the worst possible thing a human being can do on this planet. If you don't tip, you're going to hell bunghole. I tip where it is needed, if the server does an excellent job then obviously I'll leave a good tip. But I'm not here to impress anyone like most seem to be. I just think it's absolutely ridiculous that servers could even think it's should be STANDARD to leave a 20% tip. If you aren't happy with the tip you get, then YOU get a better job. Every job has its downsides and every job has it's bungholes. Not everyone gets tip and not everyone gets paid little to nothing as servers do.

I usually have great service so I tip about 18-20%. If the service is only okay, 15%. If the services just flat out sucks, I give them maybe $5 bucks. But its been a while since I've had to do that. At buffets, I usualy just give them $3 or $4 bucks. This. Tips are how waiters and waitresses make their money. They only get minimum wage to put up with people's bullshit. Like getting yelled at because the COOK didn't cook their steak the proper way and stuff that's out of their control. Now if the person just flat out sucks, isn't attentive and has no personality then it's a different story and they should probably be looking for a career somewhere else. But it's pretty shitty to not tip someone when that's their primary source of income. No I don't or haven't worked in the restaurant industry, I've been working for AT&T for the past 7 years.

You seem way to stuck up and selfish. So what if they don't bring you steak sauce if you order a steak? If the steak is cooked good you don't need steak sauce, that just masks the flavor. That's something little kids who don't know how to savor the flavor do lmfao. I tip, exceptionally sometimes, because I know they are working hard and the tips help them a lot. How does this make any sense at all? So you're telling me that Kraft continues to produce steak sauce simply to mask poorly cooked steaks? Oh ok, that's right, I only use ketchup on my hot dog if it's burnt. It couldn't possibly be that people like the marriage of the two flavors could it?

Oh, and more on the subject. You should always tip, even if the service is bad. If the service was blatantly bad, leave a really small tip, like a penny or something insignificant. Because if you don't tip at all, some servers may think that you simply couldn't afford the tip, rather than them knowing it was something they did or didn't do.

I have gotten pretty good over the years at broiling and grilling, and even though I love different steak sauces, I usually only use them now if the quality of meat is low or if I over cook it. Often now I will cover the steaks with Montreal seasoning and minced garlic and let marinate for several hours. Melts like butter.

My grand father was a cattle rancher and he taught me a thing or two. I also love beef. I try to include beef in almost every other meal, in the summer I grill at least twice a week. So I think I know good tasting beef when I eat it. That said I will NEVER turn away the A1 sauce. Im the kind of person who goes through a quarter of a bottle to half of a bottle of A1 on 1 steak. All depending on the cut of beef. So please dont Assume that because you think a beef steak is perfect no one will want A1 or some other kinda of sauce/salsa.
