The Wrestling Observer is reporting that although a Divas match is currently penciled in for WrestleMania this year, there are several company officials who are against the idea of a Divas bout as they feel it will take time away from the featured matches that people are more interested in seeing. Some in WWE are pitching the idea of having the Divas match as a dark or pre-show match.

Current creative plans call for John Laurinaitis' feud with Theodore Long, for full control of both brands, to culminate with a winner takes all match at WrestleMania 28.
According to reports, this match will replace Money In The Bank in getting a number of superstars involved in the match. Laurinaitis would be the captain of a team of heel WWE stars against a babyface team captained by Long at the pay-per-view, with the winning captain becoming General Manager of both Raw and SmackDown

It's being reported that despite her return at the Royal Rumble, WWE Diva Kharma has not fully recovered from giving birth, and is unable to work a full-time WWE schedule at this point. Creative decided to bring her back for the Royal Rumble match as they felt the surprise would create a good story.

As previously reported, Rey Mysterio visited backstage at last week's Raw in San Diego, California, and reports are indicating that WWE brass had negative words to say regarding the injured superstar. Reports are noting that the negativity has stemmed from difficult contract negotiations with Mysterio, as well as him not returning from injury as quickly as WWE would like.

That would be pretty messed up if they left the Divas off the card. There's plenty of time to start a fresh feud for the Divas, Kharma could work a light schedule up until the show.
Very sad news if they don't include a Divas match, at least for this fan.

no MITB sucks , it always a highlight of Mania. No Divas? No biggie, Mysterio on his way out? Stinks but he is getting older and more injury prone, maybe he needs to work somewhere with a lighter schedule?

Although I don't really enjoy the Diva's matches, it's a bit unfair to totally leave them out. Even if it's just a quick, five minute scrap.

They don't need a divas match stinking up the card, the one at EC was one of the worst things I've seen in a long time.

I think the "brass" should blame themselves for lack of intrest in the divas division. They had something good with Natayla and Beth and the Bellas heel push. I would much rather see a money in the bank at wm than as a ppv. There are going to be a lot of guys with nothing going on, or so it seems. And as for Rey, I can see frustration if he isnt cooperating in negotiating, but for the healing, what do they want him to do, juice to get things rolling?

Lack of Money in the Bank is very disappointing.. That would be a letdown if they have the team Heel vs. Team Face replace it. They could just as easily do a MITB and a Raw vs. Smackdown match with 1 vs. 1 having Long Manage a superstar and Lauranitis Manage a superstar.

I think I would rather see a MITB match to be honest. The raw vs smackdown thing doesn't really make sense, why would raw guys want long as gm and vice versa?

Well I find MITB as a summer WM - so I'm happy with it not being at WM(I would of still been happy if it was at WM)

Well first a misconception by a lot of people for some reason is that the GM tag match will be RAW vs. SD. Christian and Mark Henry are both from SmackDown and supported the RAW GM and they're likely to be on Team Laurinaitis. It's really just going to be recognizable heels who don't have anything going on siding with Mr. Excitement and the same goes for recognizable faces siding with Teddy. As for your question, you're asking why wrestlers on RAW would want the heel GM gone and the babyface GM from SmackDown instead? I think you can figure out the answer pretty quickly. To not have a Divas match at WM28 would be disrespectful if there's something WWE can build to and just aren't because "they're girls". If there are not even two Divas WWE thinks are worth putting on WM, then maybe they should decide if having women wrestle on their programming is the best use of them. |

The Raw Vs. SD match sounds good  I'm only interested in seeing a Divas match if it's a credible match & not a crappy Lumberjill fiasco or something like that. Beth Vs. Nattie would be good but the whole farting thing needs to go, who booked that shit? |
