People did not know about it is why the low rating. People like me who eat sleep and breathe pro wrestling knew about it but the more casual fan does not pay attention.

I too would put this one down to the lack of promotion. I don't even know why they decided to do a Live show tbh.

I missed the first half hour because i forgot it was on live. It wasn't massively well promoted, easy to forget the change.

Ratings Killer Phil in the main event was certainly a factor. He's such a ratings killer that it was revealed with DVR viewers, RAW with Punk as Champion scored anywhere from a 3.3-3.6 the first four weeks of January. The promotion for SuperSmackDown was sudden and didn't allow people to have it bashed into their head when it came on. Obviously with "Champion vs. Champion" promoted you would hope it does better, but maybe it would have if there was an issue between the two Champs in advance of the show and Titles weren't devalued (not that they haven't been for a long time, though). Promoting other stars would have been nice, as well. It will be interesting to see how tonight' re-airing of Tuesday's SD rates.

Ratings Killer Phil in the main event was certainly a factor. calling a wrestler by their real name makes you so witty I agree. It is pretty silly to do the real names thing. It's the kind of stuff that, if a main event wrestler did it, they'd probably be a terrible ratings draw. ... My theory is accurate. Ratings Killer Phil in the main event was certainly a factor. He's such a ratings killer that it was revealed with DVR viewers, RAW with Punk as Champion scored anywhere from a 3.3-3.6 the first four weeks of January. Someone hasn't seen the quarterly breakdowns then. CM Punk's match on the February 13 was the lowest-rated segment of the entire show. I'm a Punk fan, but he's the most must-not-see WWE Champion of all time.

Other than the fact that it was live and had a great main event, there was nothing special about the show at all. The opening was incredibly dull, and I can see how the few who did remember that it was on got bored of it.

Ratings Killer Phil in the main event was certainly a factor. Who is 'Killer Phil'? Ratings Killer Phil as in Ratings Killer CM Punk but he called Punk by his real name... The main event was still epic despite the low ratings.

I hate it when someone pin points low ratings on one superstar. For example, Punk may have just been facing an opponent that everyone knew he was going to beat.
There are just ton of factors when it comes to ratings. Everything from the time of the segment to what else is on. You can't simply look at a rating breakdown and say it's so and so's fault for them dropping.
