^ I agree. I only wish Jann Wenner would stop being such a douche & induct them into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame already. This is really sad news. I saw them in 1987 for the 20th anniversary tour. I was supposed to see them last September for the 45th anniversary tour, but it was cancelled. I never thought he'd be the first Monkee to pass away. How the hell does Keith Richards outlive Davy Jones?! I saw him at Chiller Theatre in Parsippany a few years ago. He had one of the longest lines of all the celebrities there. Goes to show you that even though critics called The Monkees a "flash in the pan", he still had a loyal following. In any event, rest peacefully, Davy. May the earth lie lightly on your bones. I saw them on the 1987 Tour as well. Such a bummer. I loved their show too when I was a kid. Bummer.

I guess the sixties really were a long time ago, but when one of "the young generation" leaves us...wow. Rest in Peace, Davy Jones.

I heard he fell off the platform at the Clarksville train station and was ok until the last train arrived running him over.

Grew up a fan of the Monkees and I'm still a fan. Totally in shock of the news that we lost Davy.

RIP ... The Monkees were totally underrated hahahahaha....Wait you weren't kidding? How the were they underrated? They sold ONLY over a 100 million records R.I.P. Davy, my History teacher thinks he's going to die now. Since they're two years apart, he thinks soon he'll die. Very unlikely considering people are living past 80's nowadays. Very unfortunate he died.

Very unfortunate he died. I think he meant underrated as "musicians to be taken seriously". I think people will judge them as being the first pre-fab boy band and not musicians. They had to deal with that their whole career. Especially when the rumors started that they didn't play their own instruments (which was totally false.)
