Recently on Youtube i've been watching a few of his matches from WCW and WWE. My question is why didn't he get any further than the Cruserweight Title? I mean in WCW he was pretty over and had that feud with Hogan during the dieing days of WCW. Hell he went over Hogan. Then he came to the WWE back in the cruserweight division then retired quietly. Do you guys think he could/should have gotten higher up the card? General thoughts on Kidman?

He was pretty bland on the mic.
He's still my favourite cruiserweight of the WCW era though. Alongside Eddie Guerrero, Blitzkrieg, Dean Malenko and Ultimo Dragon.

Ring work? Good.
Charisma? Zero.
He actually was still pretty successful in WWE. He had a tag team title run with Paul London too I think. Now he's a trainer in FCW or something I heard...

I think he was fine where he was, couldn't see him getting any further than gold crusierweight, why he was the one feuding with hogan and going over him is beyond me. Just a case of trying to push young talent. Unfortunately for WCW they picked the wrong person at the wrong time.

Yeah, I think my favorite Kidman gimmick was when he was walking around in the Flock scratching himself. He was a really good worker, and I think he took a step forward with the Filthy Animals, and he and Rey were awesome together, but I never really understood why he was the guy Russo picked in that New Blood angle to feud with Hogan. He wasn't particularly bad at talking, he just didn't have any charisma. He just wasn't ever going to be much beyond a tag team or midcard guy imo, especially in WWE.
I largely like to discredit most of what Vince Russo booked in WCW. So if a push happened from late 99 to October of 2000, it has to be viewed with a grain of salt imo, like Jeff Jarrett.

Word, agree so much. Did anyone like Jarrett during the Russo Era? I found him to be annoying as hell and someone who I couldn't take seriously.

Huge fan of Kidman, especially when he started using his knee to "injure" people with his SSP on SD after that mis-hap with Chavo in 2004(?) which led to a feud with Paul London.

hes, i remember kidman throwing hogan in a dumpster and i think ramming it with a hummer. speaking of hummers, since kidman was married to torrie wilson in his WWE run, maybe if she gave vince frequent hummers, maybe kidman would have faired better? lmao, just thinking outside the box on that one.

Best thing Kidman ever did was Torrie.

Jarrett was one of the few reasons I watched WCW in 2000. If it wasn't for him, Booker T, and Steiner, I'd have completly stoped watching WCW. I still don't get the hate for Jarrett. Very underrated guy. Anyway w/ Kidman, his feud w/ Hogan was a joke, as Hogan would kick his ass, a bunch of guys would interfere and attack Hogan, and then Billy got the pin. He was entertaining in the creuiserweight division, but thats as far as he could go. I still wonder how he got w/ Torrie Wilson though...

Didn't Kidman go over Hogan at one point during the dying days of wCw? he absolutely did...then lost a viagra on a poll match mere months later. i was a huge fan of kidman but there's no way if people like jericho and benoit were being held back that kidman would succeed. sad to hear about him/torrie...life is a bitch.

personally, i never minded Jarrett, though it DID bug me how once Russo arrived in '99 , it was all about making Jarrett the "Chosen One" and WCW World Champion....
yeah,i get that WCW needed to have some "New Blood" (pun intended) start moving up and taking over some spots, but you really have to have a mixture of both, new guys working with veterans , and Russo instead chose to seperate them, and have them feud exclusively with each other, which was a bad idea...

I loved Jarrett during that run, He became my favourite wrestler in 99 when he returned to WCW and still is to this day. I think he's a fantastic heel.
