Dean I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread a little, but until we see Razor or Jeff Hard fix-ups, it's still an Arn thread for now, and since I don't have one of these threads for my own... My loose E13 Cody Rhodes arrived in only 5 days so I got to splitting his trunks and it was clean! Here's Galoob-style Arn WIP (thanks to Apoc for the red/white trunk split and Dean for the Cody legs idea):  |

Anyone have any ideas for Arn's more modern look? I'd like to give him an alternate wardrobe based on his appearance from 99-now (glasses, polo shirt, slacks).

The trick is something ive been lacking latly, Patience. And hot water. Heat up a cup of water in the microwave for 3-4 minutes, till it boils in the mic. Soak the trunks for about 5 minutes, then use a knife to open the seams a little bit, as much as you can. Now either cut through the pegs... or if you want it to be a perfect split and have the pegs all intact then reheat 2-3 minutes as the waters still fairly hot, now that the seams are open a crack.... re soak another 4-5 minutes and try to pry them apart with a knife or a flathead screwdriver. If that still doesnt work, re-heat, re-soak, re-pry until the glue melts enough that it just comes apart. Patience is usually key to this if you can find it Also very important that the knife is a thin sharp exacto blade and not a steak knife or anything  |

"patience is the key" <-- so true, I can't tell you how frustrating it is waiting those 5 minutes for a part to soak only to get it open by a tiny crack. Truth is I probably never waited 5 minutes for anything and just keep prying |

Where on the trunks to you cut? on the top so you won't see it once the figure is reconstructed?

yes a thin blade, and cut along the top peg and carefully between the side seams. let the hot water melt the glue if you want a perfect split. Dean, I personally prefer the kickers but I know it makes shawn slightly shorter so let me suggest using the basic eg hbk shins for added height. lose 1 p.o.a but gain height and have that top of kicker mold on the shin |
