Triple H and Scott Steiner were arguably the most over heels for both companies in the year 2000, and had similar rises to the top from 1999-2001. Both of them dominated the main event scene from 2000-2001, and both were "hated" by the fans and massivly over. I've heard arguments for both sides, but I'm wondering who you guys thought had the better heel run and you thought was more entertaining during this period, Triple H or Scott Steiner?
I loved both of there runs, and while I'm not a big HHH fan, I loved his run from 1997-2001, but I've got to go w/ Scott Steiner. This guy was just so unique and different from the prototypical heel. Most heels were cocky and acted tough but would always run from the face chasing them or have a team gang up on the face. HHH fit this category. But Steiner's character was afraid of no face and was just a dominant force. In storyline, he put Sting, Goldberg, Booker T, Kevin Nash, DDP, and Sid Viscious all on the shelf and was literally standing alone at the top of the WCW mountain by the time Vince bought the company. Had Vince not bought WCW, Steiner's great world title run would have continued and his would have also continued his great feud w/ Booker T, which to me was WCW's version of The Rock and Triple H feud from 1999-2000. Both guys were great, but Steiner was literally the only reason(w/ Booker T and Jarrett) that I watched WCW to the end.
Who's heel run did you guys like better?

Steiner's for the reason u metioned. Steiner was so different from the generic heel he didn't hide behind a group like they had HHH do with DX and the Corporation. When Steiner said he was going to kick someones ass you believed he was going to kick their ass. That made him standout from everyone else on the business at the time IMO

It's sort of not a fair time frame imo. Scott Steiner from August 2000 to March 2001 was unequivocally more entertaining than Triple H imo, but Triple H in late 99 with McMahon/Helmsley and then his feud with Cactus Jack was absolutely amazing. Steiner, even while feuding with guys like Goldberg and DDP, and running around like a hyena with Buff Bagwell, which I loved, was still only a high midcard guy and Triple H was at the top of the mountain. Something happened with Steiner when he beat an unconscious Sting in the US Title tournament imo. Being a part of that stable with Nash and Russo and Co. actually did Steiner a service because he was going out every night and beating the absolute piss out of guys and then cutting intense promos and saying whatever the he wanted. The other really big moment he had was against Goldberg, and that really put him over. That match gave him the go ahead to take the title from Booker T imo, and that is when he really truly hit his stride was at Fall Brawl. I've said it before, but from fall of 2000 until the end of WCW, Scott Steiner was my favorite wrestler on earth. I voted for him, but this was tough. Triple H was a huge reason why I watched and enjoyed WWF at the time, but Scott Steiner was the reason I was watching WCW at the time. I enjoyed WCW, a lot, those last few months. I really enjoyed the Natural Born Thrillers, I was still a fan of Nash and Sting, Steiner was being used better than he ever had been, and I was really into Ric Flair's role and the whole Magnificent Seven thing. DDP was booked where he belonged as well during that time. I loved the Two Man Power Trip stuff Triple H did with Austin though too. I think it could be argued that never have the IC and WWF Titles been so closely parallel to one another. Of course, that had the luxury of playing itself out, which Steiner didn't get to do with his ongoing feuds, specifically with Booker T. Long winded answer, Steiner, but by a very small margin. I am comfortable with saying I was a massive fan of both men at the time.

I always found H overrated and I missed the majority of Steiner's run on top because I refused to watch wCW during its dying days. I really wish I could add something to this topic but I got nothing. I suppose I'll just sit back and see what you guys think...

HHH's run in 2000 is one of the greatest heel runs in WWE (dare I say wrestling) history. Feuds with Foley, Rock, Angle (although he did look the fool in that one), Benoit, and Austin solidified that. Steiner's, while good, wasn't even on the same level. Let's face it, it was WCW in 2000, a company grasping at straws.
Scotty's title run should've come at least 9 years earlier when he was better than Flair, Angle, and HBK all put together during their primes, but he didn't get it because he didn't want Rick trolling around in lower card hell. It's not even fair to make the comparison no matter how good it was for Scotty at that point.

HHH for me and heres why.his matches with Rock and Foley were awesome.then the feud with Stone Cold too.....just greatness.I also enjoyed him bringing back DX as heels.plus this version of HHH got there on his own merit.Rock would not have been as over as he was without Mega heel HHH.
but I loved Steiners stuff too.its such a pity there wasnt more and then he got drop foot.such a shame.as I have said repeatedly his match with Goldberg at Fall Brawl 2000 IMO is incredible.
