Okay so unlike most of you older fans I find them very enticing and almost a sense of modern nostalgia in that Rumblers are Mattel's equivalent to Hasbro's WWF Figures. It seems to me that not too many people think that younger fans are aware of wrestling history.
When I started watching wrestling I was always studying the hall of fame section of WWE.com, reading PWI every month & watching tons of classical footage on youtube. I was 13 & am pretty sure most kids that age & even 9 or 10 year olds are pretty smart with computers & researching their particular interests.
Another funny thing is seeing all the collectors warming up to the Rumblers concept. Let's face it. Anyone who posts here in a wrestling figure die hard who enjoys action figures portraying the characters & stories of Profession Wrestling. End of discussion.
Here are few idea sets you could do to incorporate veterans/legends into the rumblers line.
Of course Mick Foley's Gimmicks are a must but a three pack would be too hard to pull off.
So my idea is to have him split up across two sets.
Cactus Jack & Dude Love as a "The Many Faces of Foley" Pack
& Mankind with a circe 1999 Sideburns and all figure of the Rock fo a Rock N Sock Connection set. Just put a short bio on the back & Boom ready to go!
Also you could take the various people who already have legends figures just in Rumblers scale
Road Warriors
Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff
Terry Funk & Dusty Rhodes with his NWA Attire due to their classic rivalry & because his polka dot get up was stupid & every one knows it. I love ya Dusty but anyone who likes you it's because of your run in the NWA/WCW! Period!
Andre The Giant would be an awesome Rumbler simply due to who it is. My question to you who out there in the current legends line would fit with him in a two pack? Maybe a former tag team partner or rival?
Here's a few of the Full scale legends who could be in the same set simply due to chronology.
Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Kamala
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan
Personally I think he'd do fine as a singles pack but I'd like to hear your suggestions.
Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat in one of the Ring & figure pack sets like Kane/Mysterio or Cena/Miz but the ring has American Flag ropes & classic blue posts. Anyone who has seen their match from Wrestlemania 3 knows exactly what I'm getting at.
Bret Hart vs Mr Perfect or a chance to get Shawn in his classic WrestleMania 12 attire.
More or less this is just a suggestions thread where I would like to hear sets you would think would be cool be them practical or just plain silly.
I love Rumblers so much it's stupid & would love to hear some ideas from other Rumbler heads like myself.
Take it easy.
