For the most part yes. I think WM 17 is the WM 3 of modern WWE. In my eyes, WM 3 will always be one of, if not THE, greatest WrestleMania ever. Simply for the reason it made WrestleMania, WrestleMania. Hope that makes sense. WM 3 was the first WrestleMania to have a main event so BIG. Plus the undercard was awesome. WM 17 was/is probably tied or just below. It was an awesome card top to bottom with something for everyone. WM 18 should have been bigger than WM 17 or at least had the potential to do so but was messed up for a variety of reasons. i can agree with all of this ( other than WM 3 being the best....in my personal opinion, WM 6 was the best, but it's all up to everyone's personal opinion).... i literally just watched the first 2 WM's these past 2 days,and...wow...i mean, basically they're just regular cards you would see at MSG or the Spectrum or something back then, just with some celebrities thrown in, and a couple of gimmick matches thrown in ( Piper-Mr. T boxing match, NFL vs WWF Battle Royal)...most of the matches didn't go more than 10 minutes, wrestlers entered and exited the ring in a hurry with almost no pre or post- match posturing and such, and only a select few even had entrance music!.... even though it was advertised as an "event" back then, WM didn't FEEL like an event, just an overhyped card or cards..... WM III TRULY felt like a huge wrestling event, and was the thing that propelled the WWF to the stratosphere...

if i'm gonna throw out my favorite Mania's ,it would go like this:
1) WrestleMania VI - a super-hyped main event, and a damned solid undercard...crowd was electric throughout...the WWF at the end of it's "peak years" of the late 80's...
2) WrestleMania X-Seven - exciting, lots of great matches and drama....
3) WrestleMania III - great atmosphere, every match felt "important" ,and truly created the PPV "Supershow"...
4) WrestleMania 22 - solid World Championship matches with surprising results, a great Women's Championship match, Michaels getting a Match of the Year out of Vince...only dud was Taker vs Mark Henry...
5) WrestleMania XII - again, solid undercard with most of the main wrestlers on the card, an exciting and entertaining side show with Goldust-Piper,and an awesome Main Event...
on that note, my 5 WORST Mania's of all time...
1) WrestleMania XI - just...just terrible...an In Your House marketed as more because LT was there...
2) WrestleMania 13 Heat - only 1 good match on the card ( Austin-Hart),and an entertaining distraction with LOD/Ahmed vs The Nation...everything else blew...
3) WrestleMania 2 - more isn't always better, the 3 city format was confusing and full of glitches and problems, and most of the undercard sucked!
4) WrestleMania 27 - for all the hype, really, only 2 good matches on the card (Mysterio-Cody & Taker-HHH) ...main event sucked....WHC match did NOT deserve the opening curtain-jerker status, and even the Rock,as game as he was to try, couldn't save it single-handedly....
5) WrestleMania IX - one good match on the card ( Steiners-Headshrinkers)...most of the matches were quite boring, change to a smaller venue didin't help either...main event was nothing great and the ending REALLY blew! first time i could feel the "chink" in Vince McMahon's armor....

It's not the "best" but Wrestlemania VII is unjustly underrated by many. It's one of my favorites and it's more then just the retirement match. VIII is very good too but that one doesnt get as overlooked.

VIII is very good too but that one doesnt get as overlooked. i can agree with that...WM7 was a pretty solid card...i think WM8 is looked at more favorably because: A) it was return to the "big event" feel by being in a dome, whereas WM7 was in the smaller arena... B) it had Flair's one and only WWF Championship defense on a PPV....
