I was just watching a Macho Man interview from 2000. I am sure most of you have seen it, but he said something really interesting that I thought could be fun to discuss.
Around the 1:10 mark
Q: "What are the chances of us seeing you back in the WWF at some point?"
A: "Oh, that'd be sweet. But it's got to be on the right terms for them [the WWF] and for myself."
So if Macho Man did return around 2000-2004 when he was still in incredible shape, what impact would he have made? Who do you think he would have feuded with or who would you have liked to see him feud with?
Any rumors over the years of McMahon reaching out to Savage to make a deal?
I look forward to hearing some responses.

Macho Man seemed to have some psychological and/or emotional issues at times so I don't know how long another "run" would have lasted but...
I would have really enjoyed seeing Macho Man back in the 'E again.

never heard of any offers for him to return....just the usual stuff of him being persona non grata within Titan.

It's really hard for me to picture Macho in a 2000-2004 WWE. I could see him working some classic matches with guys like HBK, Rock, Jericho, and etc, but thinking about feuds is just odd.

If it would have happened that was the window. If I'm not mistake tho Macho Man was in pretty bad shape at this point, his hips were shot. I'm look at his TNA return.

Had he come back in 2000 I don't think he would have been thrown in the main event. He probably would have been used to get younger mid-carders over like Angle, Benoit, and Jericho. Maybe a quick throwaway match w/ either Rock or HHH, but the main event was crowded in 2000, and I don't think Macho would have fit in it.

A Savage/Austin fued would have been epic. First feud I thought of if he ever returned! Another one would have been Savage vs. Undertaker. I actually have a hard time picturing him in the WWE in 2000-2004. MAYBE as part of the Alliance, but he will always be a WWF guy rather than a WCW guy. |
