To be fair if it turns out that it is the ooze that turns the them into the Ninja Turtles as opposed to them actually being Turtles from outer space, I don't think that would be the worst thing in the world would it. Would you guys be accepting of that? So... Like a symbiote from space? That comes off the rocket of John Jameson... And it attacks Turtles? And then those Turtles bind with teenagers?... #areyouseriousbro?

Michael Bay is such a hack. This guy is the definition of using special effects as a crutch. In a Michael Bay movie a character could tip over a bottle of water and it would burst into flames like a gas station just exploded or something. Hey Michael Bay........DERP. That picture made my night. I get one every single time I go to the zoo or find an ice cream vender. The gum always tastes like it's 10 years stale, but it's still worth it.

ill go as far as to being cool with the ooze or "mutagen" coming from space via utroms or dimension x (if they wanna go that route) and even being forgiving to it not being from TCRI but he clearly said "alien race" thats why im at this dudes throat so in short ......chemical from outer space transforming four regular earth turtle = cool, turtles being from another planet = crapthrown on Michael bays lawn, whats next you wanna bring in Venus De Milo played by some random non actress underwear model you friggin dumbass?!?!?!

I will go an watch it, but the space thing means its not Ninja Turtles to me. Its a whole new thing not related to anything. Never understood the hate for Michael Bay till now. I dont care if you skip the origin to start the story further on and get more original plots in there, just make them come from ooze from earth! I seem to be a minority that liked Transformers, I like stuff blowing up .

When I first heard about this I was livid and I am still pissed about it, but I will wait and keep my opinions to myself until I see a trailer/ film. I love TMNT and I just hope Bay doesn't ruin it.

Comingsoon.net and superherohype.com have an update from the director that will cool your jets on it. I was outraged too, but what they said made it better. I'm on my blackberry so I can't post it, but go check it out and repost it for people on here to check out.

m.superherohype.com/news/articles/169959-exclusive-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-director-addresses-qalienq-backlashThis past week was a crazy one for fans of the popular comic book, cartoon and movie characters, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, when Michael Bay, producer of the upcoming reboot told press at the Nickelodeon Upfront that they plan on introducing a new element to the characters by making them an "alien race," something that he and others involved with the characters began to backtrack on when the internet exploded in an uproar. Bay's exact words were: "When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable." (And if you missed it, you can read that story here.) It just so happens ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype was talking to the project's director Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) this morning for his upcoming Greek myth epic Wrath of the Titans and we asked him if he had been hearing about any of this backlash and what he thought of it. He was suitably diplomatic. "I heard about it, and I'm glad there's such a passionate fanbase--I think that was good news for everyone--but literally, I've just been locked in a room with Kevin Eastman. I think what we're developing, the fans will love. I'm a fan, and I love what we're doing. It's a lot of stuff Kevin's been thinking about for a long time and just hasn't done. Anything we expand will tie right into the mythology, so I think fans will go apesh*t when they see it." Since they are still developing the movie, he wouldn't really address whether this movie was going to be bigger in scale--something we'd assume from Liebesman's previous two movies and the involvement of Bay--whether it would break away from the family audience leanings of the previous movies or whether the Turtles would be men in costumes or done via performance capture. (Who knows? Maybe they'll get Andy Serkis to play all four Turtles. That would be something, right?) Incidentally, later on, we attended a press conference for the movie and Liebesman mentioned having walked by posters of his new movie while walking around New York City and what that meant to him. While he was referring to Wrath of the Titans, he may as well have been referring to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, because he's clearly not on board the project to make a movie the fans are going to hate. "That's why we worked so hard on this. You just don't want to f*ck it up and you don't want to disappoint people who pay money," he said, before paraphrasing something his star Sam Worthington told him about having a chance to do a second movie as being "out of respect for the people who are paying money to see the movie--you feel those people are the reason why we have these jobs."

Micheal Bay raped my love of Transformers, so why not continue his evil pillaging of my childhood?

I still don't buy that. I'm sure whatever they came up with sounds great to them and integrates the history and all that but you can never publicly say "well, I'm not too behind the idea and I don't care much about the people paying money." If you're making a movie you have to make it sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread. He may genuinely feel that way but if he didn't, we'd never know it.

comics.ign.com/articles/122/1221505p1.htmlGood, quick read on the ideas of this and not jumping the gun. Can't say I agree with some of it, though. But that's all around. Never understood why people hold the cartoon in such high esteem, trying to watch it now is almost unbearable. For me I guess it's more about trying to match or outdo the first movie. I feel like most of my life I've been the epitome of anti-fanboy and 'wait and see' and it's for whatever reason getting to me now. The idea of an alien planet filled with other 'creatures' is just a completely different look at the confused, lonesome outsider thought process that turtles is based off of. People seem far more concerned with mythology than character when developing things like this these days and I think that could be what happens here.

Michael Bay confirmed that the movie will just be titles "Ninja Turtles" dropping the "Teenange" and "Mutant" part.
