19 men have held the WWE Title only once. The longest reigning of the 19 is Pedro Morales, who held the title for 1,027 days...Ranking him 5th on the All Time list. 1 spot behind John Cena who's had 9 more title reigns and held the title 31 days longer. (Sammartino, Hogan, Backlund are the top 3)

Chris Jericho has the record of most reigns as WWE IC champion with 9, but doesn't break the top ten of longest combined reigns. His total time accumulated time as champion is half the time of the list topper, two time champion & WWE hall of famer, Pedro Morales who reigned for 619 days. Shelton Benjamin was the most dominant IC champion of the 2000s coming in at number 10 of longest reigning champions over combined reigns. He stands with 354 days holding the strap. The longest under 400 days in history. Those are a couple of the best facts in this thread. Really wouldn't have guessed that Shelton Benjamin was the most successful IC champ of the 2000s. I think the WWE really missed out on him. I don't know if it was his mic skills, or charisma, or whatever it was but he was always one of the better wrestlers on the roster in my opinion. Maybe he'll make a comeback. He could really solidify the upper mid card right now with feuds with Ziggler, Rhodes, etc. I concur. Vince for some reason didn't believe him to be capable of getting over being a rather quiet character. I felt as "The Gold Standard" He could have been a heel champion. Something reminiscent of Curt Henig where he was unpopular because he could back it up. He may have simply hit his glass ceiling. Not everyone who shows promise at a certain level will be able to attain or handle it in the main event spot. I just don't know if perhaps he simply just didn't have that kind of capacity to be among the top horses in the stable.

Dave Bautista is the longest reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the title's history with his first reign of 282 days.
To this day virtually no champion has managed to do better than half that time during their reign in the 8 years since he head lined WrestleMania 21. The longest reign since The Animal's first run with the title belongs to Kane with 154 days when he won the title on July 18th, 2010.
Edge has held the title 7 times(The most of any man in history) , but is still only #3 on the longest combined reigns list. Triple H & Batista are 1 & 2 in that order.

The Fabulous Moolah is the longest reigning champion of any championship in wrestling history regardless of Gender, Title, or Promotion.
Her combined runs with The now retired Women's Championship of 10,778 days she eclipses Lou Thesz' NWA world title runs & Bruno Sammartino's reign as WWWF now WWE champion combined by 4'226 days. That's around 1,000 days longer than Ric Flair's time spent as NWA World's Heavyweight Champion over his ten championship titles.

Bret Hart has the most matches in WWE history with over 2,400. Followed by Undertaker(2,226), Tito Santana(1,885), and Shawn Michaels(1,862).
You might also be surprised that Hulk Hogan only comes in at number 12 in that list, tied with Matt Hardy, and below guys like Davey Boy Smith, Billy Gunn, and Owen Hart.
Although Matt Hardy is at number 12 on the list his brother Jeff only comes in at 28.
*This list is from 2009 so some of the totals would change but for the most part the order is the same.
*Not all data has been recorded as a lot of stuff from the early to mid 80s isn't archived so the totals of guys like Hulk Hogan would be different with that information.
You've gotta think that with HBK missing 5 years in his prime that he would be the all time leader in this list. He probably missed close to 1,0000 matches in his time off.

Does Moolahs time actually count though since she went like 10 years without defending the title? If you put the 30 day rule in effect, it probably shuts her reign down.

Even if you subtract that time she's still the longest reigning champion ever. It's more of a formality really since women's titles are virtually meaningless.

Hulk Hogan was the last WWF Champion in history. Due to the name dispute with the Workd Wildlife Fund the official name change of the World Wrestling Federation was on May 5th, 2002. Hulk Hogan lost the title to The Undertaker(Ironically enough considering his brother Kane) May 19! 2002.
Meaning The Undertaker was the first ever World Wrestling *Entertainment* Champion. A very befitting historical anecdote considering no in-performer is a greater pure thespian of the profession or embodiment of the "Passion Play" Ideaology that creates the cartilage of Professional Wrestling's back bone.
John Cena is often considered the man who ushered in the modern era where the top guy was not someone who became a star during the company being WWF, but he debuted on smackdown in 2001. WWF's name change would not be until a year later.
By that fact. It would be 7 years until a wrestler with no affiliation with the company prior to the name change would become WWE Champion. That man would be Sheamus when he beat Cena for it in 2009.

Not necessarily, Hogan did hold the title during the name change, but won the title during the final days of the WWF. So by logic of who wins it after the name change, Hogan is not the first WWE, but the last WWF Champion. It's a matter if semantics really.

Tito Santana has the worst win-loss record at WrestleMania, 1 win,7 losses. Umm... Big Show and HHH have 8 loses apiece IIRC. Tito has the record for most consecutive loses however. Big Show is 3-8 though so..... your wrong

Raven is the only wrestler to have had an action figure of himself made while in every promotion he was in. First it was WCW, then ECW, then WWF, and finally TNA. Hogan has a remco (awa), ljn/hasbro (wwf), toybiz (wcw), and jakks (tna) Hogan was also in NJPW and SCW.

The first wrestler to have a figure made was Gorgeous George. That is easily one of the creepiest things I have ever seen.

The first wrestler to have a figure made was Gorgeous George. I've seen that over on the other rands board. I'm pretty sure that's actually a puppet as opposed to a doll. Still the oldest children's toy depicting a wrestler in history.

Hulk Hogan vs Zeus feud in 1989 never staged a singles match between the two, only tag matches And I think we are all better off for having not seen that. What's the only thing worse than Hogan and Zeus in a tag match? That's right, them in a singles match.
