As I sit here and look around at all my figures, I can't help but feel as if I've lost interest in them. I still love wrestling, but the figure collecting part seems to have lost the luster for me. I'm not quite sure about it, but I been thinking about selling them for about a month now... all the while still buying the figures... go figure lol. - UPDATE - So, I ended up getting rid of my Basics a couple days ago, (38 figures) Standing back and looking at my Elite Collection, I'm glad I did. The Basics I was buying were my fillers between Elites sets since they come out faster and were holding me over until the next Elite set came through. So instead of my buying just 1 or 2, I would delve into the complete set. So that feeling of wanting to sell my collection is gone now and I'm happy with my collection again. I do want to tell everyone thank you for their inputs on what I should do, especially the ones who said just to sell a few because I'm glad I did. To add, the Basic 18 set in my signature already had a buyer so it is not up for sale.

i would say don't sell up if your only going to buy in a couple of months. sure, you've lost interest now but it could come back.
unless you really need the cash, box them up and store them. imagine thinking in a couple months "i wish i hadn't", and starting again. you'd look at ones you had before and think you want to get them again, only to realise you still had them.
from my experience, i lost interest when i went loose. but now, collecting moc again, i love it more than ever.
think on it more and you'll make the decision that suits you best.

Before you go and chance your username to post-Figure Addict, can I ask why you want to sell your entire collection?
If I recall you've recently finished your man-cave (sig pic), and you were planning to paint your peg-board black. But I've also read some of your comments where the girlfriend is giving you more grief than support - at least when you bought that $45 Bret Hart.
If it's her, I'd say you guys have to talk about it a bit more, it's your hobby afterall. However if your hobby is becoming a financial burden then you've go to make some hard decisions. If it's just for a lack of new products, well that's only a phase - I'm a legends collector and there's a huge drought between RSC Bret and Bundy for me, but it's only time and it will go by.
Take a break, turn your attention elsewhere for a couple weeks and see how you feel when you look at your collection again.

I felt the same way about my Marvel Universe figures a month or two ago. I ended selling about 3/4 of them off but I kept the ones that have sentimental value or are just too cool. I don't regret it as much as I thought I would. I'd say keep some if you do sell them off.

Well, it's not that I'm going to miss them. It's that I'm looking at my collection and the only ones I enjoy are my favorites. CM Punk, Cena, Ryder, Trips all my Legends. The thing I look at is what I shouldn't have bought, the impulse buys. I have tons of them. I'll probably end up sorting through them all and keeping my favs while selling off the rest and just stick with Legends/Flashbacks as they pour out.

Well if you feel you lost interest in them why are you still buying them? lol Maybe it's just a phase? I'd say maybe just downsize your collection. First though I would remove the repaints and wrestlers you feel you can do without. Don't sell them yet just pack them away for a month or two and if you feel you don't miss them then sell them. Again I'd start with repaints and wrestlers you don't care about

And yes, I just finished my man-cave not too long ago, but like in my previous reply, I have a TON of impulse buys, just to buy them. I'm not happy with those. I'm thinking of just keeping the pieces that mean a lot to me. But such as Santino, or Kofi, or Rey I'd sell off. Just examples

Yeah. Keep the ones that you know you would miss in a few months / years.

I tell you what there were alot of figures I didn't buy becasue I knew they would have been impulse buys, and I was always looking for that better figure. I was too afriad I would buy a peg warmer, just to find better a figure the next day and either have to pass on it, or use my credit card and build up even more debt.
Now I kind of wish I bought some of these because, as I was waiting for some major players that never came, I also lost out on some good figures. Now that Legends are gone, I wish I bought every single one of them, and DM, even though some are not necessary to have, it is just nice to have them.
Also too I have to admit... nothing can kill the mood like going into a store and seeing a bunch of Orton's and Cena's. I like RSC but nothing beats buying at retail. Most of time when I get a new figure or a new set arrives in my area, it is old news everywhere else and everyone has moved on to the next wave already.

I look at my Jakks classics everyday and still get a thrill out of switching out the belts and putting new matchups in my head. . . Ric Flair versus Ken patera for the World Title anyone? How about Ricky Steamboat (custom) defending the US Title versus Ted DiBiase? To bad Mattel cheaped out on the Legends line and they'll never get close to complete as Jakks did.

I sold off my entire G.I. Joe collection because I needed money to pay some bills. I kept a few of the figures I really loved and I don't really regret selling it as much as I thought I would, but ever now and then I wished I still had an entire bedroom full of Joes. I never really bought alot of the Jakks figures and when I started buying the Mattels I just went for the ones I really wanted and tried to stay away from the impulse purchases.

I think there are times where we all think about selling. I went through the same thing for a while then something new would come out and i would change my mind. Finally I decided I was done for the most part but would keep a few and be very selective on ones I would buy. I had almost 100 mattel figs and about 60 jakks Hogan figures. I'm down to about 20 mattel and 2 jakks Hulksters. Personally I love the mattels but they are becoming too expensive. I just can't justify spending $40 on a single figure from RS (not hating) and even at retail they are over $20. I think the final nail for me was when I walked into TRU and saw that BOPPV series was $23.99. Not to mention target is $19.99 for elites. And to top that you have to deal with scalpers and poor distribution. It became more like a job than a fun hobby. Just make sure to think it through because selling can be just as much work as hunting for figs. You will take a bigger lose if u sell them in a lot so best way to do it is to piece it out to make back as much as you can. I'm 99% done collecting, leaving the door open just a bit for figs like an nWo Macho or if they ever get to it a Hogan. On a side note I have put up some of my CMD customs for sale if any of you are interested! Also have a custom mattel Hogan Sorry for the plug but I need to move these

Don't give up on collecting until you're one hundred percent sure you are done. I lost interest for about 1 year and am happy i didnt sell my collection because I get to look at the great classic figures i have

I lost interest for about 1 year and am happy i didnt sell my collection because I get to look at the great classic figures i have I knew I wasn't done, but I also knew that there was something in the collection making me unhappy with it. Figured out it was my Basics. Don't get me wrong, the Basics are a wonderful line, but I came to the conclusion that I just couldn't spend money on the same person for Elite and Basic, I was blowing through all my extra cash doing this so I knew I had to make a change. Now there will be some that I buy, such as Divas or Basic Legends. Now I know that there are some people who won't get an Elite, off the top of my head Heath Slater, but that's something I can live with.

That's how I do it.. the main ones I buy are Elites. But I also buy all the Divas (Basics).. and I buy basics of the guys who I collect all of their figures. And all Legends Basics as well.

I think you made the right decision, I also over the last probably couple of years went from avid collector and buying figures all the time to just stopping and not buying at all, but only sold what I could live without and what made me the most money, kept everything I wanted and I'm happy, I just don't have them on show like I did, also helps now since I've been a bit down in the dumps with really struggling to find full time work that I've started up a hobby I used to love more than most things and now just primarily buying The Rock Mattel figures because I bought all of his Jakks figures from 2003 onwards. You made the right decision mate.
