Also, apparently Tea Party = non-partisan. It's an independent group of researchers. Funded by whomever, the research itself isn't being disputed by anyone that I'm aware of. Independent group funded by Tea Partiers. Their "research" isn't disputed for the same reason the "research" linking all Presidents to a Reptilian line isn't disputed by any legit scholars. It's fringe research with no credibility and no evidence to back it. It's not worth disputing.

If the Tea Party can prevent the President from being on the ballot, I'll take my hat off to them. They're not only nutty, but powerful as well. Won't happen. Since when does the Sheriff's office of one county have any jurisdiction over the state ballot? Since when do they even have jurisdiction over that counties ballot? That's the election office that does that. This is nothing more than a dog and pony show.

Well if you watched the video as opposed to just bashing everything without looking into it...
The state legislature is working on passing a bill which would force all candidates for elected office to prove that they are who they say they are. This would be by birth certificate and such.
A harsher version of the bill was already passed once, but was vetoed by the governor. This one will almost certainly pass again and could be signed by the governor. That, or the governor could potentially be overruled by an additional vote.

If someone posts a 90 minute video about how the Earth is flat should I watch the entire thing before arguing that the Earth is round? The legislature can pass the bill all they want. It's stupid and makes no difference since Obama has a valid birth certificate which he has freaking showed the freaking birthers but they still don't freaking believe. This is bat nuts crazy and you've gone way, way off the deep end here man. You have mountains of cold hard facts staring at you and you deny them. You're willingly blind here. The Joker is over in the corner feeling sane compared to you. It kills me to see you off chasing this nutjobbery. I expected better. Just saying.

The one they posted on the official White House website is not legitimate. It's just not. I'm not "willingly blind." I'm talking about simple things that anyone can see. VISUAL EVIDENCE.
Where are the "mountains of cold, hard facts" about this document that was posted on the White House website? Where?
I'm not even, personally, discussing whether or not Obama is an American. I'm simply pointing out that this document they put on the website is bullshit.
WHY they did it? I don't know. What it means? I don't know.
But it's bullshit.

This is the problem with you Birthers. Nothing at all constitutes proof. Everything is going to be dismissed. As has been said before this wouldn't even be an issue if Obama was a white guy from Massachusetts. Heck, McCain really wasn't born in the US but his eligibility never came up and no one said a word about it. Why? Because he's a white guy. I'm done here.

No, the thing that constitutes proof is that it was very obviously edited on a computer. Let's put it this way...
Say your friend "John" bought a brand new Ferrari. John takes you on a ride in it and you're rather surprised with the way that the vehicle rides. The acceleration isn't as smooth as what you would have expected in a Ferrari. It's still a fine vehicle, but you're confused at how it drove. When you get back, John opens up the hood and you look inside -- something doesn't look right. You're not a car expert, but the engine inside just... Doesn't look right.
You ask your friend if you can borrow it for a day and because the two of you are long-time best buds, he says yes. You take the car to your other friend, "Bob," who is a mechanic. Bob opens up the hood and immediately says, "There's no way this is a Ferrari engine. This Ferrari is supposed to have a 575 M Maranello engine... This is the Ferrari 458 Italia."
Then you and Bob decide to take John's Ferrari down the road to another group of mechanics. They agree that the engine in the Ferrari is not right.
Now, the group of you aren't talking about WHY the engine isn't right. You're not even saying that the car isn't a Ferrari. You're simply saying that the engine inside is not right.
Just because it says "Ferrari" on the vehicle and the guy who sold John the car SAID it was the original vehicle, doesn't mean that it is in fact the original vehicle.
Now you take the vehicle back to John. The two of you bring the car back to the dealership who claims, up and down, that they have proven the legitimacy of the vehicle already. They ask you, WHY WOULD WE CHANGE THE ENGINE?
--------------------
You're essentially making the argument that the Ferrari has the right engine despite the fact that mechanics have looked at it and agree that it is not correct.

Just to summarize, in one thread I've agreed with Oskankowski and a bad trader and I've called Kliquid a nutjob conspiracy theorist. Did I wake up in Bizarro world somehow?

Dr. Law show us the proof that this short form birth certificate is fake or has not been altered. Kliquid, i understand what your argument. Also, These people on the forum need to understand that the term racist is when an individual hates a race. We can dislike one person of color is because we don't like them as an individual. Black people say my black ass or your white ass, they bring up people skin color but we don't call them racist. So i can say i don't like obama's black ass as president.(I liked herman cain). Man these non birthers can't show some facts even though kliquid provided them with two.

It's not really a conspiracy theory at this point. It's really a matter of being a graphic designer, looking at a file and saying, "Yeah, that's edited."

UGH. What strange times we are living in. This whole thread is facepalm worthy, including but not limited to Kliquid trying to justify his stance on the issue by offering a nice little anecdote about ferrari engines. Nearing the completion of his first term, I can't help but think that those still claiming outrage over the certificates will never be supportive of anything president Obama does, because he doesn't have the right kind of "engine." (aka he is not white)
We still have a long way to go in this country regarding race relations. The worst part, I believe, is that those who carry the same mindset as the birthers believe they are justified in how they feel and that race is a nonfactor. Unfortunately, most don't realize that their prejudices have already made decisions for them the same way rationality usually guides sane individuals towards truth.

My opinion on why its NOT fake (and I'm a Ron Paul supporter as well Kliq)
Republicans and Dems spent half a billion dollars on running for office in 2008, and the Republicans are probably going to spend close to $150mil in the primaries. Point being, with all that money, all of the resources, especially to a sound legal team, I think if there was credible evidence of a forgery that it would have been brought up in 2008. If this were legit, both in 2008 and in the upcoming election, the Republican candidate would try to get Obama off the ballot. Point being, if there was evidence he isn't an American, he wouldn't be on the ballot. The Republicans have the money and the resources to make sure that happens if there was credible evidence, and don't think for a second they wouldn't do it.

Man these non birthers can't show some facts even though kliquid provided them with two. At first, I didn't think there was a racial component here at all. I thought birthers were just nutty. Politics attracts that. Then Obama presented his birth certificate. And the Birthers didn't believe it. So he presented his long for birth certificate. And they claim it's fake and still don't believe it. There is absolutely nothing at all Obama can do to convince these people he was born in Hawaii. Nothing. If he wanted to sign up for military service or vote, he's got proper ID. But Birthers aren't buying it. How is there not a racial component there? Like I said, McCain wasn't born in the US. No one disputes that. Yet nothing is said about him. Why? Tell me there's nothing racial going on here.

As I've said many times in this thread, I'm not even saying he's not from America. All I'm saying is that the PDF that was uploaded was doctored.
It has nothing to do with race, in my case, whatsoever. I'm simply talking about using the knowledge I have on how things work in Adobe Illustrator, to investigate something that someone has said was not real.
