Found this today: Packaging needs to change, It's a real shame you think you find a sweet fig but to discover some moron stole the jacket and glasses.

Why would you go through the trouble of stealing the glasses and jacket, but leave the actual figure there? If you made it that far, you might as well take it all.

I guess I don't understand how the shelves at the stores people do this at don't clog up, since everything is switch outs. Doesn't that keep them from buying new stuff? Or stealing it anyway.
I guess it's too much for them to think of the future. Surely no one buys the JAKKS switch outs.

Eh, the jacket sucks. I'll gladly send mine to whoever wants it because I put my Jakks fabric jacket on it.

That is crappy! A package change will not matter though. People are always going to do this regardless. Especially since so many people been talking about it and showing pics everyday on the collectors boards. More ppl are just going to see how easy it is and how many other ppl are getting away with free figures and new ppl are going to try it. When the packaging changes, collectors are going to quit buying and thieves are going to just rip the whole box apart to get at it. Thing is, its just a $15 toy. Store security are the ppl whose job it is to watch for this stuff and they could care less really cause that is just how they see it. Its a $15 toy, not like someones stealing a laptop or hundreds of dollars worth of DVD's, games or clothes or anything.

My Wal-Mart had an Elite 3 Cody Rhodes swap, an Elite 7 Trips swap, an Elite 8 Sheamus swap, and Elite 7 Hart Dynasty swaps. All except for the Hart Dynasty has sold since around Summer of last year. I watched them sit on the pegs until around Christmas time. Thankfully there haven't been any since then.

If they changed the package to a style that sports figures come in they wouldn't be able to do this...

If they changed the package to a style that sports figures come in they wouldn't be able to do this... Exactly....they need to go in the all plastic bubbles that McFarlane uses that you HAVE to cut open with scissors to get open and there is NO WAY to disguise it if it has been opened.

I like the plastic packaging idea but unfortunately that wont happen and if it was then be ready to pay $20 plus for figures!!!

If they changed the package to a style that sports figures come in they wouldn't be able to do this... No instead they would just cut the entire package up and leave a mess sitting in the toy aisle of a bunch of empty plastic bubbles and cards.

Mattel have said those boxes are designed to be able to be opened without damaging them but I don't think that makes sense for a mass retail product because things like this happen.
It needs to be brought up by multiple people in the next Q+A about getting some kind of packaging change because this kind of thing seems to be happening far too often.

You can't just blame the packaging, it's the people as well.
In the UK I haven't saw ANY switches or stolen pieces, I'm not saying we're better, but you can't just blame it on the packaging.
