Quality > quantity, Seriously. Also being profitable is important. Putting out figs that 10 people will buy is not good business. I disagree. From what I've seen time and time again people will snatch up the first release figure of a guy before they buy that 27th john cena/orton.

I understand that they aren't huge stars but let me tell you the big stars aren't selling great either (Orton,Cena). If they would produce someone new it might sell. Even if it's 1 per case in every other series. DONT GIVE MATTEL IDEAS DAMNIT!!! IAM STRUGGLING AS IS TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH U GUYS!!!

Mattel will make more Cena's and Orton's no matter what you guys think!!! Also people comparing Jakks to Mattel is a joke..... I have some Jakks figures but after mattel took over I really think Jakks figures look horrible compared to Mattel!!!

No. And that's where most the business comes from. Like it or not, collectors are outnumbered...... If lil jimmy goes into Walmart and sees Trent Barretta they will say "who? No thanks".

Just asked my son if he knew who Barretta, Hawkins, and reks were... No clue. Showed pics. Still nothing. So when we go to store will he want that fig? Nope.

This is probably an unfair example but did you know the Star Wars line is built 90% on characters with 6 seconds of screen time and 0 lines? As an avid collector of star wars until 2004, that first 9 years of the relaunch was not based on small characters. For every cantina alien we got, there were 3 different tattooine Luke's. There were also a ton of vader's, boba fett's, Han solo's and such which gave us exclusives and box sets that included the random and obscure. In fact, seeing that that line is now 17 years old, rereleases are a mainstay of the product. Not even retooled figures, straight up 1999 era obi wan on 2012 packaging. Because that line is 17 years old and has a kid base to propell sales, collectors get their Darth Revan's and Tonika Sisters (oh wait, hey still haven't made those girls yet...) One last point, upon relaunch, a star wars figure was $5 or so. An elite wwe figure is $16 and up. That's a much bigger risk for a possible shelf warmer.

I think Mattel is being very smart when it comes to releasing new characters, Every series that has come here in the last few months Cena,Orton or Rey have hung around for a while where as if theres a new character (booker,Bossman) or someone who hasn't had a fig out in awhile there fig dissappears !!

God bless Mattel for having enough common sense not to throw out ridiculous guys like Jakks did.
