Just like the title says, which was the worst WrestleMania main event for you guys? The only matches that qualify are literally the last matches on the card, and not co-main events that were not the last match.
For me, it's gotta be a toss up between Hogan/Slaughter, Hogan/Sid, LT/Bam Bam, HHH/Orton, and Cena/Miz. While HHH/Orton was basically 25 boring minutes of HHH beating the hell out of Orton, the buildup was awsome, so thats out. LT and Bam Bam atleast gave an effort, so that ones out too. Hogan/Slaughter had a good buildup so thats out as well even though the match sucked. And while the final two both had crap endings(one a DQ and the other a count out, and then restarted and ended 10 seconds later), atleast Warrior returning at WM8 was memorable, even if the match was crap. Was funny when Papa Shango missed his que to head out and Sid got to kick out of the Hogan Leg Drop. The Cena/Miz match was just god aweful, and the countout ending was just stupid considering it was suppose to be the biggest match on the biggest card of the year. Not to mention that the buildup was crap and Miz was nowhere near over enough to main event at Mania. The match lacked a "big feeling" IMO, as Miz just screamed mid-carder, and even Rocky and Cena's presence in the buildup and match couldn't save it

I agree about Cena/Miz. The match pretty much sucked, plus The Rock overshadowed the whole match pretty much.

LT vs Bam Bam, I can't vote for Miz vs Cena as 2 great things happen. Cena lost and The Rock was part of it

HHH vs. Orton with Undertaker vs. Sid not far behind.

Cena vs. Miz - People can say what they want, Miz IMO just wasn't WrestleMania Main Event material.

As far as a wrestling match goes Hogan/Andre could be called the worst but it was the best because it was about so much more than that. Hogan/Andre was by far the greatest WM main event. Cena/Miz was the worst.

Was it obvious that Hogan would win? Yes. But it's a good match (underrated even), especially for Hogan. I'm going with WM 25- build up was bland and the match was below par. LT/Bam Bam had a lot of coverage and it may be the best celebrity match.

I agree about Cena/Miz. The match pretty much sucked, plus The Rock overshadowed the whole match pretty much. Agreed. It was great to see Rocky back, but as only the "host of WM," he overshadowed the event and the whole card IMO was crap. I've always felt Miz is and always has been nothing more than a high mid-carder. But that didn't mean he couldn't have put on a decent feud w/ Cena, and considering his crappy feud w/ Orton and him looking weak against Jerry Lawler before WM27, he needed a strong showing. Instead, the whole buildup turned into Rock vs Cena, and Miz was left as the odd man out and looked even weaker as the WWE Champ. Come match time, I just wasn't into it and Cena and Miz just didn't click for me as the match seemed too crazy and didn't flow right. Then the dumbest decision the WWE could have made happened, as the match ended in a countout. Seriously, the biggest match on the biggest show of the year, and it ends in a countout. The overbooking continued, as Rocky came out, attacked Cena, and then Miz was given the win. The whole buildup and match was done completly wrong IMO.

Taking into account everything- build up, in ring performance, execution- I would say Taker vs Sid was the worst Mania main event. While it was great to see Taker get a proper title win/reign, the match itself was forgettable and it had two big things going against it. One, the match had little build up between Sid and Taker. Because of Shawn Michaels "losing his smile," and then the Final 4 match with Bret winning only to lose the title the next night, the title picture was in a lot of flux, and there was really no feud or build up for Mania stricltly revolving around Taker and Sid. Secondly, the match was a bit overshadowed by Bret's interference after making his heel turn that same night, plus with HBK on commentary it almost seemed to call even more attention to what SHOULD have been, and many expected, that years main event to be which was Bret vs Shawn II.

Triple H/Orton considering the excellent build-up it had.

Well if you consider the Sheamus vs DB since sheamus won the spot of "Main event" match in the Rumble, I would say that. Or the WM25 HHH vs Orton. Awfully done, terrable buildup, completely rushed to mania.

HHH vs Orton.
for the build and hype this match got it was shocking to see neither man turn up on the night.where was HHHs thirst for revenge?Ortons desire to ruin HHH?they were non existent.of course this feud was doomed when Shane beat up legacy and Steph was DDTd inan effort to get people to dislike Orton.rafters went off the building when Steph was DDtd and Shane was loudly booed too.
my other main contender is HHH vs Jericho at WM18.Jericho was so badly treated here its unreal.first undisputed Champ......allowed to go over Austin and Rock in one night.....then defend against each guy.then he steps aside to be Stephs goon en route to WM.
sigh.

Good points. Not only was the buildup terrible, but the match was also bland considering these two put on some great matches before this. And the fact that this match went on last instead of Rock/Hogan, which was the most hyped match on the card, still baffels me.

Hogan vs. Sid. Hogan vs Yoko was an insult to Yoko, Bret, and the entire roster, but at least the in-ring work was quick and painless. Hogan vs Sid was excruciating. When Hulk is the better worker of the two guys in the ring, you know you're in trouble.

lol yeah the ending was basically given away when HHH and Jericho had their first feud building to this match. HHH basically called him a joke and we knew right away what was going to happen. Rock/Hogan should have gone on last, and that would have left it open for Jericho to somehow retain. That way atleast he wouldn't have completly been burried.

I'd probably have to say LT vs Bam Bam. Not because the match itself was that bad, but because of all the main events listed, they had the least amount of business going on last imo. I actually think the match itself is fairly entertaining. I love Bam Bam and LT did a good job, but HBK vs Diesel had the celebrities at ringside and was a really good title match so it definitely should have closed the show.

HHH vs. Orton was a total snooze-fest. LT vs. Bigelow wasn't the best match ever, but it was surprisingly decent, and had a good build-up to make the match seem better than it was. I vote HHH vs. Orton.
