I nearly died when finding out Jakks was producing a new Bret Hart. I remember being on the boards before protos were released for CS1 and the hype that lead up to it.. And to this day, the only figures I've ever pre-ordered were Diesel, Mr Perfect, Sabu, and 123 Kid. I couldn't believe JAKKS was able to produce not only a CS Warrior but a CS Bret too. BOTH in the same set for the very first series!

First off, WOW, Leigh great collection...Secondly, im sooo glad someone posted a thread about classic figures, its funny because yesterday, i just posted a couple threads about classic/legends figures....Im stoked there are some peeps here , like me , that collect only legends/Classic figures....I love the pics of your collection, Leigh, and ill post some of mine soon...I am trying to collect every CS figure, im trying to get everyone MOC (however i open and display the regular figures, keep the boxes, and i keep the variants/limited editions/specialty/ and exclusive figures MOC.....Im probably close to 3/5 of the way there....i have 3 1/100's , but still got a long way to go! Anyways, like i mentioned, im SUPER Stoked there is a legends figure thread now! Lets keep this one alive!!!!
PS....i think its funny how someone mentioned that the LOTR series is like a direct to dvd sequal....however im hoping that they can do something great, or atleast good with this series....atleast let us collectors fill in the holes in our cs collections, like the jim cornette , scott stiener, and hopefully other figures that we classic collectors want!
Thanks!

I really wish jakks would have made more stars from the 70's WWF.
Swede Hanson Pedro Morales Grand Wizard Antonino Rocca Billy White Wolf Arnold Skaland Baron Sciculna Buddy Rogers Killer Kowalski (a proper version) King Curtis Bobo Brazil Bruno Sammartino (70's) Ivan Putski ( early days) Mighty Igor The Valiants Mr. Saito Professor Tanaka Antonio Inoki Stan Stasiak The Kentuckians The Mongols The Sicilians The Blackjacks Crazy Luke Graham Dr. Jerry Graham Angelo Mosca Tony Garea

Thanks! Yeah that was me. The LOTR line could've been such a great part 2 for JAKKS. I knew they would never be able to produce the same amount of guys at the volumes they did for the CS line. However I think a full two sets (5-6 names per set) a year sold on RSC & ShopTNA exclusively would work. I really wish jakks would have made more stars from the 70's WWF. I'm hoping a Inoki will be made before the LOTR series ends.

Just emailed Jeremy Dino Bravo's contact info, maybe something small like that will help revive the line, who knows.

I don't know if anyone else has said this before but, doesn't that Scott Steiner prototype look like Kurt Angle in a bad wig? Anyway here's a question for those who still play with their figures..Do the Mattel legends play well with the Classics? I know looking at my mattel Rick Martel that detail wise it's miles better than the Jakks Model Martel but because the head of the Mattel is so tiny, jakks still wins for me. To be honest, the few mattels I have on my shelf MUST have some kind of jacket or robe on in order for them not to look stupid alongside ( In my opinion ) the vastly better looking Classic Superstars.

I wonder if Jeremy is talking the LOTR as a separate line itself. On JAKKS' facebook said they would be including a LOTR figure in SOME of the DI set line-ups.
What does he mean by "We would have continued for many, many years"? At least there is a chance the line COULD be opened again. I'll believe when I see it, but maybe something will happen down the line.
Also Greensborohill, nice customs and teams! WHat email address did you use to contact Jeremy?

I take it to mean that they would have continued it indefinately if they still had the WWE license. Very sad. Also, I emailed him his work email not the jeremy.com email.

The CS line is the sure fire crown jewel of my massive action figure collection (this includes Marvel Legends, Marvel Universe, Lord of the Rings, JLU, DC Universe, & MANY more). As of right now I have every retail release MOC, and my plan is to get atleast one of each character (ie, both Akeem & One Man Gang, XPac & 123 Kid, Scott Hall & Razor Ramon, and so on) loose, I am about 80% there on that one, just need some of the rarer figs.

I'm going to buy some display cases to show off my collection once I'm done with several customs I'm working on. I just need the motivation to finish.
I saw my old cases and shelving unite that I gave away to Grandma this past weekend when I visited her on Easter. It was strange seeing the display cases, they seemed so big with only a few of her antique dolls and figurines in them.
Hope my wife is ready to do some building.

^ What customs are you working on?
I saw some nice glass display towers IKEA has for $60 (I guess that is cheap) I was thinking about putting some of my rarer figures and prototypes & test shots in.

What really got to me was all the rehashes. Rey Mysterio, HHH, HBK, Bret hart, UT, all great but they had more than 1 classic figure made and those spots could have been used on guys who didnt have a figure made. And to make things worse IMO is all those guys (cept bret) were being rehashed all the time in the regular lines too.

To be fair, those guys you mentioned all needed more than one CS figure because of the evolution of their careers.

I would agree but we had 19 Hogans, and 14 Brets, 14 HBKs, and like 12 UTs and others. Rey actually wasn';t that bad as he only had four (two of which were LJN style). I think at the time JAKKS was planning to continue the CS line either as same line or the LOTR line so they were just trying to produce as many WWE guys as possible because:
a. They would sell well b. JAKKS wouldn't be able to use them again or chances were VERY slim.
I was hoping JAKKS would hit or surpass the 200 names mark, but they fell 19 names shy. But had they produced everyone they had signed, they would've hit easily.
