I believe they had show in a tag team w/ Billy Gunn that went no where in the summer of 2001. He then had a quick appearance on Raw or SD where Booker T kicked his ass, and then squashed DDP before joining Team WWF for the Survivor Series. what a waste.in fairness he could have contributed to this angle.....

Agreed. I remember he had an on and off feud w/ Kane and Taker in 2001, so they could have had him as WCW's answer to those two instead of squashing DDP to Taker.

The invasion era was the heart of my childhood. What wonderful memories.

Although the Invasion in 2001 was entertaining and had it's moments, it could have been so much bigger than it was, I think it could have and should have been the greatest storyline of all-time.

The sad thing is that this feud w/ WWF vs WCW, it could have gone on for years with so many potential feuds they could have created. Sadly, it barely lasted six months.

Could Vince have kept WCW running?
Get someone like Bischoff or Flair to "buy it" and keep it afloat find a network and then slowly the invasion unfolds with WWF turning up on WCW and likewise.
A story like this needed to be happening on a wide scale, begin the angle around Summerslam, have the first big multi-company PPV at Starrcade or Survivor Series and then the big finish at Wrestlemania.

Loved the invasion angle, but how much better would it have been if we would have had guys like sting and some of the other main eventers from WCW to make the event epic.

During the invasion WCW and ECW was joined together and the WWE was by it's self but what if the nWO would've joined with the WWE to fight the Alliance?
It would've been great because Vince could've revealed that he was the true mastermind behind the nWo all along and it would've spiced the Invasion story up even more.

Sigh. The invasion was a mess, why would you want the nWo in the equation?

What annoys me about the invasion is the fact that all the huge WCW stars arrived months later.

I would think it would be bette for ecw to side with wwe if there were "sides" as wwe helped ecw a bit and Heyman hated bischoff I think.
Really it should have more likely been that or everyone against everyone.

You know things aren't going well when two of the folks on Team Invasion at Survivor Series were...WWE Superstars. Things would've gone a helluva lot better if they had more big WCW names signed before kicking off the whole "feud" (which was a complete squash for the entirety).

probably a lot of bad huge team matches that end in bad heel/face turn finishes.
which is what we got anyways...just slow the action down a bit.

WWF/NWO vs WCW/ECW...
Then WWF vs NWO for what's left.
Interesting idea for sure.

This idea would have made the invasion even worse. We already saw the WWF dominating the Alliance, so we didn't need to see them dominate the nWo at the same time. We got that a few months after the Alliance angle.

The whole thing was one sided. Even though having the ECW guys join with WCW was great, the sides were still unequal. Instead of turning Austin, they should have turned Jericho and Big Show IMO. That would've given the Alliance side two big names that actually made sense.
Personally, there's a couple of things I would've liked to of seen happen:
1. Even though I just mentioned I loved the ECW guys joining the Alliance, I think it would've been great to see those guys get tired of see the 'E guys and WCW guys go at it and feel like both sides are just using them for their benefit. So they band together and take on EVERYONE. They had the majority of major ECW guys so it would've worked. A stable with RVD, Raven, Dreamer, Tazz, Dudleys and Rhyno could've been a SERIOUS threat.
2. I wouldn't of brought in everyone from WCW right off the bat like most people wished would have happened. But I do think they should've of ponied up the money and at least brought in a few. First off, I would've dropped the whole DDP stalker thing and instead have Scott Steiner come through the crowd and take out the Undertaker. The next week, Taker is in the ring and calls out Steiner and says this is his yard and no one drops in like that and attacks him from behind. He tells Scott to be a man and come and fight him face to face. Scott comes into the ring and asks if Taker wants another beating like he got last week. Taker gets in his face and they go at it. Taker starts getting the best of him when from out of nowhere, Rick Steiner slides in the ring and knocks taker out with a chair. Kane finally comes running out to save Taker but it's too late. And right there you have an already built in very personal feud going into Invasion. Taker and Kane vs. the Steiners.
So here's how my Invasion main event would have looked (added an extra person to each team as well:
Austin/Angle/Taker/Kane/Hardys vs. Jericho/Big Show/Booker T/DDP/Steiners
(notice how there's no ECW guys in the match and how I mentioned earlier about them feeling like they were being used? Well... here's where that comes in...)
Then during that match is when the ECW revolt starts. RVD comes out throws Jericho a chair and everyone thinks he's there to help the Alliance, nope, Jericho gets a Van Daminator for his troubles. The rest of the ECW guys rush the ring and take out both sides. The next night on Raw the ECW group comes out and says what I've mentioned about both sides using them and how it's not about the WWF or WCW, it's about THEM now. They proved they can take out anyone or anything.
This would set up a triple threat multiple faction main event for the next PPV as well.
How the writers couldn't come up with something resembling that, or at least something better that what we actually got, I'll never know.

didn't matter what the writers came up with. Vince was determined to show that his competition was weak and inferior compared to the WWF, and that's what we got!
