basic two packs have come with belts. macho / punk and orton / christian. Also flexforce 2 packs have come with belts. Lets not forget the target champions set. Both come with the 4 singles titles. ALL basic figs

Because Basics are supposed to be what their name is... Basic. (and due to costs)

I think it's to give people a reason to fork out the extra money for an elite. You're paying $8-9 more for an elite so people are obviously going to want more to come with it other than more articulation points.

Single carded basic figures will not come with belts.
2-Packs nowadays have belts which is a cool added bonus but you have to buy both figs.

Lol, I love howw people on here buy into Mattel's cheapness so easily. Sure the figure is basic but the Basic part is talking about the articulation. Jakks put out basic figures, ra figs, and those came with an acessory all the time. Either a belt, a chair, a mic, a cookie pan, stop sign, duffle bag, trash can, ladder, something. AND the Jakks figure was cheaper than what Mattel Basics go for these days. And also the Jakks figures were not to scale so Jakks put out a bulkier figure, thus costing more as far as materials to produce said figures.
Plus if people are willing to pay 20 dollars for an Elite figure just because it has more articulation and comes with either a shirt or a belt why would mattel put more effort into the lesser priced figures? You're going to buy it anyway, so why give more to the customer?
So with Mattel we got scale (which we pay for) but we lost acessories.

Yeah some of the 2 packs have belts like macho/punk and gabriel/slater and theres also rarer singles that came with big 1,1000 belts a while back.

because they are basics. even if they did come with belts they'd be the ugly non vaced ones and everyone would bitch anyways.

Lol, I love howw people on here buy into Mattel's cheapness so easily. Sure the figure is basic but the Basic part is talking about the articulation. Jakks blah blah I'd rather a figure with an accurate body sculpt and paint detail (including designs on the back if appropriate) over all the figures having the same body and 40398576539048759 cookie sheet accessories that I'll never use.

Because since day one they said the single carded basics would be the cheapest figures they release and as such wouldn't come with any accessories so they would stay within their allotted production budget. If they added belts then they'd either have to cut on details or the amount of figures per wave to stay within their allotted budget.

As much a fan of Jakks as I am, elite articulation & shirt > same figure/different head.

The belts would lose their specialness if every wrestler had one. Eventually you will be begging for a cookie tray or that DA chair with Benoit's face imprinted on the seat.

I wonder if the plastic Mattel uses costs more than the plastic of a Jakks figure. Plus don't forget this is Mattel were talking about here. Mattel, who has been around for a very, very long time. They have to take total budget into consideration for all their brands across the board. WWE was Jakks' main concern so they had the proper funds in a better economy to include accessories. Lets not for get that Deluxe figures vs Elites... Deluxes came with crap accessories anyway. I even took Triple H's Exploding Sledgehammer and gave it to my Joker figure to use as a gag weapon because that made more sense. Truth be told, if it weren't for UFC Jakks would have failed in the figure world IMHO.

well some basics had the 1/1000 belts lol We dont need belts in basics, because 1 it would raise prices and 2 people would start stealing from the basic line, its already to big of a problem with elites.
