This is a question for those of us who have followed Jericho since his feud with Malenko in WCW.
For those of us who sat on our hands with excitement as Jericho disappeared from WCW television; knowing full well that he would be on RAW as soon as that damn Millennium Clock finished counting down.
For those of us who wore the Jericho-holic shirt to school even though people thought it said "jerk-aholic" as a reference to how much we spanked it.
For those of us who fully embraced Jericho's angry man in a suit run and celebrated his championship wins.
Am I the only one who kind of hates him now?
I'm sick of him dividing his time between wrestling and his fledgling music career. I bought those Fozzy CDs to support Jericho, but the joke is over. I don't care how many people go to your shows or buy your MP3's; the joke is over. You can't do it all and it's pissing me off that he's trying to.
You're not a star. You haven't transcended wrestling like The Rock and John Cena. You were on a show called Dancing with the Stars, but nobody knew who you were.
Your act is boring. Your jackets are stupid. Your matches and promos are not the be-all-end-all that so many pretend they are.
You just piss me off. You're living off past glory instead of doing something interesting. I kind of wish you never came back.

Awful thread!
Jericho is like a fine wine, he's only gotten better. Fozzy is a great Rock band, with a ton of great songs.

I've always found him to be dreadfully boring, especially during his last two returns.

I do agree with the first part of the OP. It would be nice not to write Jericho off in a feud because we know he's leaving the WWE soon to tour with Fozzy. Either pick one or the other. But his ring work is still flawless and 99.99% of his fans are still loyal.

Jericho said so many times that he loved both wrestling and music and that he wanted to do both things as a living, if you were a fan of him you would support his decision.

His character is being extra dastardly now. I love it. Makes you really hate the character.

Nope.
Jericho is one of the best heels in the business.

Still love Jericho to death. I have no problem if he wants to pursue other interests and I'm thrilled he actually still does come back and puts in 100%.
Also, his jackets are amazing.

Jericho is still a god when it comes to wrestling in my eyes. I'm glad Jericho has been able to garner the success he has. Being one of the biggest stars in what was one of the top two eras in pro wrestling history. Putting on great matches. Becoming a legit main eventer. And even getting to fulfill BOTH of his childhood dreams. Becoming a successful wrestler and a heavy metal musician. Plus, he still has it and he is north of 40. I'm glad he is part of the current product.

Not everyone makes music to become super famous and rich...and Jericho is still one of the best wrestlers in the business.

People seem to forget he was doing music before he ever got into wrestling. Personally, I think it's cool that he maintains two of his passions like that. I don't mind him taking breaks and coming back. The point is...... he comes back.

This goes back to The Rock hate...
Jericho owes us NOTHING.
He has spent years and years travelling all over the world, busting his butt and paying dues. He's done everything there is to do in the wrestling business. Everything.
If he wanted to spend the rest of his life dancing with stars and singing with Fozzy he could do it successfully and never work in sports entertainment again.
However, like The Rock, he loves the business and shows up when he has the availability. Obviously he loves the business if he's still willing to be involved at this point.
Give him a break. Just be happy he's still around and can still put on great matches and promos.

Well I for one have been following jericho since his ecw tv title reign and ill have to totally disagree with you on this one. Jericho has had countless great feuds over the years and even more countless great matches. He's reinvented himself and tweeked his character many times. So what he comes and goes now but remember he's been wrestling a LONG time and throughout that time he hasint been injury prone so he's had very long stretches wrestling and there's no doubt its prob taken a toll on his body so I'm sure at this point in his career he's not going to work a full time schedule. Jericho is still in amazing shape(imo better then the last run) and can still put a great match on. Punk vs jericho at mania was a great match and that proved jericho has not lost a step at all. Jericho will be one of those guys who are always welcome back in the wwe and rightfully so.

I think the real Chris Jericho that I fell in love with in WCW ended at some point in late 2003 to be honest, maybe even as early as after Mania XIX. I just think after stealing the show with HBK, that he sort of did everything he had dreamed of doing in a ring.
That being said, Jericho has done an awesome job at reinventing himself and trying to stay fresh. I don't think there is a ton of difference between what he is doing now and the character that debuted in Sunrise, Fl in 2007. I actually think the Dancing with the Stars and Fozzy stuff makes him a better heel. How easy is it for wrestling fans to be completely annoyed by a guy who thinks he is a star, when in reality he isn't a star at all outside of wrestling. Jericho is the ultimate hypocrite heel and really pioneered that type of heel in 07 if you ask me.
I think his program with Punk is really good. I think him going away and coming back is what keeps us caring about him. His ring work at Mania was great, and he hasn't done anything in his return that has warranted me not wanting to see more of him. The worst part about Jericho returning so far imo, has been him not winning the Royal Rumble, because in retrospect, that would have made the most sense imo.
I 100% think his best promo work is behind him, primarily because he isn't that guy anymore, but that doesn't make him not entertaining to me anymore, just different, older, more selective with his actions and words.
This thread isn't stupid at all though imo, if anything, I think you make a valid point for those of us who watched him evolve throughout his career. I completely understand where you are coming from because Chris Jericho in 1997 to 2003ish was a completely different guy than the guy who showed back up in 2007. I don't think just because you enjoyed his late 90s work that you were required by law in any way to enjoy his second coming so to speak. Even if you liked his 2007-2008 stuff, what is to say you're not bored with what he is doing now? So, while I don't necessarily agree with you, I definitely see where you are coming from.
